So I'm a very keen bean, as it would seem, as I am (unfortunately) on CD1! Glorious AF arrived today..yay..

So looking at my app I am due to take a HPT mid January. Would anyone like to join me?

Stats:
27, DH 28
TTC #1 following a MMC in October
Track BBT and CM
Will use SMEP this cycle

Hallo lovely!
I'm here!
I'm also 27! Partner is 37. We have a nearly 3yo together currently.
Not actively trying like mad for number 2 but we are being relaxed (I'm trying to be....🥴) with things if you know what I mean and we'd be very happy if it happened.
I have just started Natural Cycles so am temping most mornings if I can and trying to see when I'm likely ovulating. Cycles vary in length and are typically pretty long between 40-50days. Side note - I'm currently dismissing the fact I may or may not have a slight obsession with HPTs 😂 but I know I'm not alone so it's ok...! X

Hey OP! I'm looking to start TTC in December and will be testing mid January too Grin. I'm 29, I've been with my partner for 11 years (married for one).
We are currently renovating our house and I'm starting to think I'm a little bit crazy as we don't even have heating or flooring on the ground floor! Still, it takes a while to grow a baby so I'll be alright haha. I've been tracking my cycles for the last 3 months and taking vitamins and folic acid in preparation.

Hi @Ellabella234 and @BabyDancer welcome!! :)

@Ellabella234 so we're the same age and have long/irregular cycles - this will be my first though. Are you using OPKs? Or just seeing how things go with temping and timing BD from that? Ahh don't worry I know you're not alone with the HPTs - I'm pretty scared of doing that but I know lots of people do!! x

@BabyDancer Ahh that's ok, it'll all work itself out! Heating or flooring isn't important IMO when you're thinking about TTC little bubba :) all they will need is you! How have you been tracking? I've tracked BBT for a few years as birth control but now using it to time ovulation. Will be trying SMEP this cycle :) Is this your first child? x

Hi all do you mind if I join??

I am 27 too! Me and my partner of 6 years decided we are going to start trying this month.

I'm still learning about how my cycle works, it's mad how for the last 15 years I've not really bothered to pay attention to my body? The last few months I've been paying more attention, I usually have a 30-35 day cycle.

Period finished yesterday so going to "do it" every other day for the next couple of weeks because I don't actually know when I am gonna ovulate 😂

The plan is to just take it as it comes, pardon the pun. If it doesn't happen over the next few months then I might invest in some OPKs!

@doublecheeseburgermediumfries hi lovely, of course not! Welcome! :)

It seems we're all of a similar age. How is it going so far?

I know, I was like that too until around 3 years ago where I used the FAM method for birth control. Before then, I would go from the pill to the coil with no real idea of what was going on! Now my cycles are around 35-50 days. So like you, it's hard to tell when I will ovulate.

Are you tracking anything? CM, cervical position, temps? x

Hi ladies! ☺️ AF ended for me on the 8th two days ago. I have a question for you all though. which is a bit random but probably relevant when it comes to tracking... In terms of when you put it into the app, when do you say your period is finished (the last final day)? For a day or so there is bare minimum brown (...sorry) but it's not any kind of flow it's just when I wipe. I wondered if thats considered the last day of AF or not for the app and measuring ovulation etc. Random Q?! 🤣 Also, partner and I now appear to be moving into a new house in about a months time but it needs flooring and decorating beforehand. He's a painter so he can do a lot himself but it might be a bit of a stress for first week or two of Jan! So...not sure how much 'time' we'll be spending together ....? We shall see ladies & either way I'm staying here with yous please!😁 x

@danielasummer Oh also I haven't been using OPKs but I do have a huge pile of them I ordered off amazon like 6 months ago and yes I was thinking of having a go
this month but I'm not sure when to start doing that? Any advice. Should I test a few days before my app predicts ovulation and then during? X

@Ellabella234 hello, I've been thinking the same! So I went onto the Natural Cycles guides and the said that any day you bleed during/after your period you log as period, just mark it as 'light'. I have exactly the same as you - only brown when I wipe and my 'red flow' finished 2 days ago. I don't think it impacts the algorithm for predicting ovulation as the first day of your period is the one that's needed for predicted ovulation :)

Ahh that's exciting! Hopefully if he has some time off then you can spend some 'quality time' together... who are we kidding, just make him stop for 5 minutes so you had the to BD haha! When is the app predicting your ovulation for?

I am going to start testing from CD 8 every day. I literally have OPK strips flooding out of my bathroom cupboard haha so I thought it wouldn't hurt to test loads. I'll be using Premom app to see how strong the line is and will also be sticking them in a book so I can see the progression :) are you doing any of this too or am I just totally mad haha?! x

@danielasummer Yes that definitely makes sense with the app - it uses the first day of period not necessarily when the period ends! The brown is literally nothing really, tiniest bit in my knickers and a little bit each time I wipe... We sound so similar, ha! 😅

I've attached a pic of my apps month prediction for me... it's got more red than it should I think because it's not picked things up properly yet but seems to say my ovulation day is NYE!! I think the LH days is when it's telling me to do a ovulation test..is that right?? New to all this..

When is yours saying you'll ovulate? Do you measure temp every morning? I can't quite manage that because it depends how my nearly 3yo wakes up...if she's crying for me I can't lie there anxiously waiting for the therm to finally beep while she's upset I have to go straight in 🤦🏻‍♀️😂 but if she's stirring and slowly waking up I can do it🙂 x

@Ellabella234 I also have the tiniest bit of brown when I wipe! We do sound so similar haha and we're due to ovulate around the same time too, going through this together!

Natural Cycles is pretty clever. I learnt how to track everything myself (I read a book called Taking Charge of Your Fertility - highly recommend if you haven't read it) and thought I could do it myself with pen and paper but it's so much easier plugging it into an app and not having to think about it! Yes LH is saying when to do an LH test but honestly I would start LH testing every day from 23rd December and twice a day when it starts to get dark (you can miss the LH surge as in some women it only lasts 12 hours so you might not realise you've got a positive OPK as you've only tested once, if that makes sense).

I'm due to ovulate on the 2nd January but to be honest with my irregular cycles it might not even happen then. Sometimes I don't ovulate in a cycle either :( which has me worrying but luckily I'm getting some testing done and will be seen at a fertility clinic in the next few months! But if all goes well, will ovulate on the 2nd Jan. I do measure temp every morning but sometimes I wake in the night and take it. You don't have to do it at the same time every day, as long as you take your temp after 3 consecutive hours of uninterrupted sleep. x

@danielasummer Sorry for the delay - the DIY has been time-consuming but I'm so pleased that I now have heating! I'm using Ovia and ovulation sticks. I have only been tracking my cycles since August, but I've never been on the pill so I'm pretty in tune with my cycle (even though it can vary by a day or two). This will be my first baby :-).

@danielasummer I'm still waiting for AF to begin TTC! I'm on cycle day 34, I think it's delayed by all the stress from the renovation work. I can't wait to actually get started now. How about you?

Hello how are you all?

Not going well for me at all!! I think I'm broken 😞

My mum had an operation on Monday but didn't go to plan at all and she's incredibly poorly... i has thought/hoped this weekend would have been my ovulation peak but instead I've had a second period most of this week?!?!!!! Except it's not like a proper period it's just dark and thick... 😳 sorry if that's a bit TMI!! I don't think I've ever had this randomly in my cycle before, I can only assume it's down to stress?

@Ellabella234 this might not be much help to your question, but when do I class my period as ending varies. Sometimes, it can still be red and then it just stops once I've reached 7 days or sometimes it drags out a bit. I would class the last day as when there's nothing on a pad but slight marks when I wipe. Usually tends to last 7 days for me.

Hi ladies, did you all have a lovely Christmas Day? Not sure if I'll be joining you for January pregnancies (but fingers crossed for you all) - but who knows what'll happen. Partner & I are having a bit of a stressful time at mo and are hoping to move into this house mid Jan but he needs to do a lot of work on it during first 2 weeks of Jan. painting and flooring and odd jobs. So don't know yet...wobbly funny time everything's a bit all over the place. Also think this is my ovulation week predicted Ov day is NYE. I've no idea where I've tucked my pile of ovulation sticks?! So I should be testing now but I can't for the life of me find them.....!? See....stressful odd time going on over here..! 🥴😂 Where are you guys from? 🙂 xx

Hi guys! Mind if I join?

I'm 28 and we're TTC our first baby. This is our third cycle trying and I'm super impatient so struggling slightly with how long it's taking (I absolutely know 3 months isn't actually long at all...

I'm taking opks every day at the moment - CD 15 and still negatives. Hopefully get my surge soon!

Hey lovelies.
Found my pile of OPKs!
Faint second line this mornings wee so that is negative, right?
I'm new to doing these so can I have some advice?
Does faint second line mean negative as in it's not your ovulation day (big surge)? But does it mean perhaps it's my ovulation week so OV day will be soon?
Thanks girls x

Faint! I know it has to be either darker or equal to the control line, is that right?
