Anyone testing just before Christmas?

Quite upset as the smileys don't have their Santa hats on yet.

AF arrived 2 days ago so I will probably be testing around 21st December (cycles are about 24 days)

Anyone else???

Me too, my cycles are 25 days and I’m CD 2 atm xx

Fingers crossed for you both! AF has come early the past few months so I haven't even been able to make it to testing day, just accepted that I have shorter cycles now for whatever reason so adjusted timings accordingly.

Do you know how long your LP is? Time between OV and AF, apparently taking certain vitamins can help to lengthen it xx

I'm thinking it's 10 days, so really at the limit of how short it can be. Thank you I will look into that

Going to use OPKs this month to try and get a better estimate.

Yep, probably testing at Christmas, although I hadn’t realised that would be the case. I have slightly irregular cycles, but I monitor them so although I’m not sure exactly when I’d be due to test it’s probably going to be pretty close to Christmas Day.

@iswhois, my LP is much shorter than that, rarely make it to 8dpo, usually around 5 or 6 (so I’ve been trying for a while with no luck!). Have tried various things to adjust cycle. I take Agnus Castus until I ovulate (it can help bringing ovulation earlier if you don’t ovulate early enough in your cycle) and I take a B vitamin complex to help lengthen LP. They do seem to be helping, I had a chemical pregnancy this last cycle, but it’s the first time I’ve had an LP long enough to get a BFP.

FWIW, I have one DD already, so an LP less than 10 days doesn’t mean you definitely won’t conceive!

Hello! I'm also testing end Dec 🤞✨🙌 hopefully. We will start trying next week in lead up to ovulation...

@iswhois have you managed to pinpoint ovulation through temperature charting or opks? I just ask because I've read that the luteal phase, between ovulation and AF, is often at least 12-14 days (though of course shorter ones happen as @crazychemisy says) so it could be you're actually ovulating earlier, rather than having a short luteal phase. Forgive me if you've already figured it all out, but thought it could be useful to know if you didn't! Coz that might mean you're ovulating around days 10-12!

@crazychemist when you conceived DD what did you do? Any tips? I'm basically planning to DTD as much as poss in lead up to ovulation :)

Hello All I will be testing on 20th/21st depending when I ovulate. We are hosting an Xmas party on the 21st so will test before then to be sure if I will be drowning my sorrows or hiding that I'm not drinking Hmm
Didn't think that one through did I?!! Grin
I'm on Cd10 now and just started with the CB OPKs so waiting for my flashing smileys

I should be ovulating on around December 6th so testing any time from the 20th if AF doesn't arrive before then!

Am thinking of buying some agnus castus, does anyone know how long you should take it for?

AF is due on 22nd for me, I'm thinking of taking a complex b vitamin, need to have a look x

It’s hard for me to know for sure when my AF is due. I’ve been on the pill for years, came off it a week and a half ago when I started bleeding - I had semi regular periods whilst on the mini pill (so no breaks). If they were normally then Im due my next AF on 15th December! I’ve been using the Flo app for 3 months when we decided we would start trying at the end of the year so I’ve not got that much data to go off!

This will be my first so I’m very much in the naively hopeful stage!

I'm gonna give the Luisa Zuissman (think that's correct spelling) vitamin recommendations a go this month. Her blog maybe baby is v interesting

AF has now finished so also going to start OPKs tomorrow to get a better idea of my cycles.

DH doesn't understand the concept of a fertile week, but if I try to explain too much I fear it will ruin our sex life!!!! SmileSmile

@itssquidstella I think we should be ovulating around the same time!
I also thought about getting Angus cactus but it read too much about it and freaked myself out so didn't in the end! It's so hard to know what to believe. My cycles are actually quite regular so think it might do more harm than good.
I think it's most important to take from cd1 until ov and some people say to stop then, or you have to take it all through first trimester if you need the progesterone support because stopping suddenly can cause drop in progesterone which may make you mc.

Hi ladies! not entirely sure that I’ll be joining you in testing towards the end of December as I had my coil out just over a week ago so not 100% sure on where I am in my cycle.. but if I am right, I will be ovulating on 6th dec and testing on 20th!

I am due on Christmas Day so will be testing then unless I have some serious symptoms! Although I also don’t want to be grumpy on Christmas Day so may hold out until 27th.

Trying just B6 this month to delay ovulation by a few days as ovulating normally CD11 but last cycle was CD7/8 x

Hi Ladies,

This is my fist post so sorry if it's a bit wordy! My husband and I started trying in September and I had it in my head that getting pregnant was going to be easy, if people can get pregnant by accident then how hard can it be?! Well we are three months in and frustratingly still not signs of pregnancy. I'm due to test on Christmas Day and my other half things it's lovely because it could be a great Christmas present but i'm worried that a negative result will bring down my Christmas mood.

I've been struggling with the two week waits as it's all I can think about. How do you all cope with the two week wait and what do you do to take you mind off it?

I'm so glad I've found this page because I don't really have that many people to talk to about this because I haven't told many people that we are TTC as I can't cope with the endless questions and raised eyebrows every time I decline a glass of wine!

xx

Hi @xSLPx I wish I knew the answer to your question... it is so so difficult, and I have certainly not mastered it yet and I am on my 6th cycle. The best thing to do is keep busy, stay off google and remind yourself that all symptoms in the 2ww will just be down to progesterone so are to be ignored. I try to make sure I have lots of things booked in for those 2 weeks, as well as something to look forward to when my period is due to take the sting out of it.
Good Luck!

I got my peak on CB digi this morning after a spontaneous (and VERY rare!) morning bd so that was excellent timing :D

@xSLPx I'm right there with you me and my husband are both 20 and ttc our first baby been trying since October i have so many questions but everyone on here is so nice and been there before and happy to help with anything you want to ask, I thought it would be easy but it's been the hardest 2 months and I've read there's women on here been trying for over 6 months to a year they are a lot stronger than me! The tww is terrible! I do a lot of sewing so for the full tww I try to keep as busy as possible cleaning or sewing or just now it's Christmas shopping lol if you think about it too much you stress yourself out and I've been told since the beginning the more you think about it the less likely you are to fall but it's impossible not to think about it my advice is find a hobby that really takes up all your attention! Good luck and I hope you get your positive on Christmas Day it would be such an amazing present!🤞🏼
