So confused tracking LH and BBT

I've started tracking my BBT and LH so hubby and I can make a serious attempt at trying to conceive in the next few months.
I'm currently on day 17, but I haven't had any LH surge yet, and my BBT is pretty much all over the place.
Could this be an indication that I'm having a problem with ovulating? Or could it just be that I'm going to ovulate later than day 17? My cycles are generally pretty regular, but they can go between about 27 and 35 days a couple of times a year.
Can anyone make sense of this for me? TIA

Tested this morning and I'm still only LH3 on day 18, I can do another one around 3pm but I don't see it spiking today
