Hey out there!

Thought I'd start a little thread to see if anybody will be in the same boat.

Finally decided to start our TTC journey! Very excited and a little nervous!

This will be our first baby, I'm 28 and my husband is 27. We have been together over 8 years. I have already started taking folic acid with vitamin D to get used to taking it.

Looking at TTC after we are back from our holiday to New York in November.

Currently on Cerelle and been on this for 4 years before this I was on the implant and then before this another pill from about 16.

I have no idea about cycles and not really had regular periods since I was 15!

Feel free to join and tell me your story if you are going to start your journey around the same time! SmileSmile bye for now!

Hi OP!

I'm 29 and my OH is 31, and we've decided to start TTC early December. I'm really excited. It feels like forever until December but I'm waiting it out as I'd prefer to have a September - April due date if we're lucky enough for things to work out quickly. Statistically August borns don't do as well at school because they're a whole year behind September borns. Ultimately though you can't decide - it's all down to luck!

We're looking to fully gut and renovate our home between now and December - so that's keeping me distracted in the meantime.

Hello Baby Dancer!

Thanks for joining me! Hope you are well?

It's so exciting isn't it... haven't really thought about that... ideally I could do with a due date before or after September... my husband works in the motor trade and a September birthday wouldn't be great!

We shall see...

We have a few things to do in our house before a baba arrives... ive been stripping wallpaper today! SmileSmile

Think I will join this! December will be my first 'proper' TTC journey...
Have had previous one-off attempts which has led me to join other threads but we have put a halt to it ....mainly for a September baby but also because I want to get healthy! Fingers crossed for us !!

Hey ladies

This will be my 3 cycle trying since coming off the pill in May, it took until September for for cycles to go back any normal state so please don't get your hopes up that you will snap back because it didn't for me and I got a shock.
I don't mean to be mean but I wish I knew that before and I would have come off the pill a lot sooner.
Taking a good mv is definitely advisable, I'm using pregnacare conception which I would highly recommend as it normalised my cycles but did seem to delay the first cycle.

You can try your very best to plan the month you give birth etc but it probably won't work out that way, your better off just going with it and what will be will be. You'll drive yourself mad otherwise.

Good luck xxx

@MrsSokhi I agree with you...things won’t always go as we want but as long as they’re healthy , that’s all that matters :) Tbh my main reason is my weight loss target to wait until December

@Elmlee I would say come off earlier especially since what @MrsSokhi has said! It may take a while for cycles to return to normal ?

Hi,

I would like to join if that is ok?

I am currently at the start of my first ever two week wait, and already feeling the anticipation. Not sure I will be able to cope with the tww every month of trying, I am very impatient, hence the name.

Hoping that chatting with others on here will stop me from talking about it constantly with my OH, who says I might ruin the baby dancing if I keep talking about ovulation, cervical mucus etc!

Has anyone started ttc yet?

@SSC92 am I right in thinking that you too might be at the very beginning of your tww?

Hi guys, we were going to start TTC baby #1 in January but got a bit carried away on holiday and decided we could start in November! Currently 4dpo, this TWW stuff is a barrel of emotions already Grin

@Elmlee if you haven't already, definitely might be an idea to look at getting off the pill sooner rather than later - then if it takes a while for periods to settle you have plenty of time to get a head start on that. I came off the pill last December and we went to using condoms instead, then o was tracking periods while I waited and hopefully good a good picture of my cycles already.

Good luck everyone, sending BFP's to you all Smile

Hi everyone. I got my coil out in June so we’ve been trying since then but nothing yet. When I went into this all I stupidly thought we’d be pregnant by Christmas but contraception does take a while to leave your system. I think my periods have only just started to go back to normal. I also started by thinking I didn’t want an August baby but after trying for a few months I realised that I really don’t care as long as I do actually get pregnant and it’s healthy. I also started thinking about my friends with August birthdays and they’ve all got really good careers and never seemed to struggle in school so I wouldn’t worry about that bit at all.
Good luck to all of you. It’s an exciting journey and these forums are great for letting off steam and talking to others in similar situations.

I've just had my implant removed and TTC for mine and my OH first. I've heard with the implants things go back to normal really quickly and I've had regular periods probably for the last year or so. Just going to see what happens.
Would be lovely to be ima threat without others in a similar position

I'm 27 and OH if 28

@Elmlee good luck! My advice is don't overthink it as your body will need to get back into routine... mine took a couple of months before I was regular again!
I just brought my folic acid on amazon 400mg

Hi everyone!
Hope you don’t mind me joining :)

Me and Hubby decided to TTC baby no 4 we were adamant we were done at 3 (well he was lol) but after a lot of talking we’ve decided to go for one more to complete our family!

So I had my coil out last Tuesday and before my appointment AF arrived but the nurse was fine to still take it out (phew!) so my period is now finished and it’s time to start trying!!

I’m so excited / nervous I feel like it’s my first time all over again haha!

Just trying not to get my hopes up on getting pregnant straight away.

Sending baby dust to us all!! Xx

Hi, can I join please?

I'm 34 (yesterday!) and DH is 32. We've been married just over a year and I've been on the implant for 9 years and the injection before that. We plan to TTC properly from December because we didn't want an August birth either!

I had my implant out in October although it had expired in August. Had a bleed 3rd Nov but not sure if it was a proper period or just withdrawal. Used OPK's this month and got a positive around 18th which makes sense I guess. I'm due on again at the start of December if all goes to plan, then its all systems go!

Good luck everyone Smile x

Welcome everyone! Lots of baby dust to you all. Lots of implants and coils removed here, how exciting! Might take a little while for cycles to regulate so try not to get too disheartened if it's not immediate, easier said than done though I know Grin

Looking forward to seeing some BFP's soon x

Hey
Can i ask my alot of people dont want an August birth? ☺️

Report
Shuckle · 26/11/2019 10:57

@Diamond94 probably a mixture of being HUGE in the middle of summer, and also to do with school times - august babies being youngest in class, deciding whether to defer years etc. There is some evidence which suggests summer babies don't perform as well academically as non-summer babies. Even things like your child would be the last in their class to have their 18th birthday, start driving lessons etc might be a consideration!

I reckon there's a lot of factors at play though and an August baby can and in many cases will do just as well in life. Personally I don't mind when they are born, I would just love a healthy baby Smile
