Created a new thread as the other one was full. Hope everyone finds it okay!!

Yammers thread 11!

Yammer rules:

A safe place for those of you who have been trying to conceive for 6+ months and even yams aren’t helping. Come and have a good ol’ bitch and a moan without judgement. Please read the rules before posting!

The Yam Commandments are as follows;

  • Thou shalt not arrive one day and post BFP next day

  • Thou shalt not give advice to others when TTC for one month only

  • Thou shalt not participate in one-up-manship and realise TTC is shit for everyone in different ways

  • Thou shall allow posters to be fucked off with the world and everything in it at regular points in the month

  • Thou shalt not be offended by strong language

  • Thou shalt not tell everyone to eat yams

  • Thou shall accept being called a muppet for testing at 7dpo at 9pm at night

  • Thou shalt not symptom spot during the two week wait and must be prepared for a telling off if you do so.

-Thou shalt not post pictures of positive pregnancy tests. We will be delighted to hear about it but no photos, please and thank you

@impatientmammy
@dragonmummy17
@Lilzpk
@MorgenMuffel

Haven't been able to post on the last thread to say I've posted a new one but we ran out of room!

@impatientmammy sounds like you had a frustrating GP appointment. Hope the fertility clinic can send the info over soon. There does seem to be a difference between TSH levels for fertility and I've read a few people sayings their GPs were clueless!

@noseringgirl thanks for creating the new thread.

Driving myself crazy symptom spotting this month. Boobs killing, v thirsty and low level nausea/heartburn. Realistically I know it's my IBS but can't help getting hopes up Sad

@NoseringGirl thanks for setting up the new thread
@Lilzpk just seen your post in the last thread. Sorry to hear that.
@impatientmammy that sounds very frustrating. Will the clinic help do you think?

We are still waiting for DHs test results so stuck in limbo land. I'm in tww but not sure when I'm due. Ovia says Friday but I think it might be later this month. I wasn't really tracking but now I wish I had to take the guess work away!

MorgenMuffel · 23/09/2019 18:51

@impatientmammy sorry the gp was useless and hope you don't have to wait too long for the info to be sent over x

@MorgenMuffel it's impossible not to symptom spot, no matter how much you try to stop yourself or apply logic! How many DPO are you now?

@dragonmummy17 I hope you get those test results for your DH soon! Hope AF stays away for you though, are you planning to test this week or leave it for a bit?

Thank you @NoseringGirl I was just about to do the same and began to struggle under the pressure of choosing a new name. Was very relieved to see you'd already made it 😂 The IVF clinic have been amazing. They will definitely do their best to get things moving ASAP. Just had a phone call with other half and we're going to try one natural cycle and book ivf in for the one after assuming we're not pregnant. Very unsupported with the nhs I don't think they would monitor my TSH levels if we didn't have the backup of the clinic. I'm feeling really excited about it all again x

@dragonmummy17 @impatientmammy hope you both get tests results back soon.

@noseringgirl AF is due fri/sat. not going to test until she is late. Cant cope with double blow of negative and then AF showing up.

struggling today...some people really do seem to have everything. I know grass is always greener and a raging case of the green eyed monster but so pissed off Sad supposed to be on a diet too so can't even comfort eat Angry

@impatientmammy your IVF clinic do sound great, glad you and your DH have got a plan in place as well. Exciting times for you!

@MorgenMuffel I can understand that feeling, I think it's only human. Don't beat yourself up about it. We all feel like that sometimes and we're here whenever you need to rant.

I got to start OPKs today. It was low fertility obviously but it was good to POAS again and I'm clearly an addict Grin

@NoseringGirl I love to POAS 😂 I wonder if we'll miss it when we don't need to anymore 🤔 makes me feel in control (a tiny bit 🙄)
Thank you @MorgenMuffel I've always had the feeling I'd struggle to get pregnant though so I think he'll be ok 🤞 x

Hi ladies!

Can I join Smile I'm on cycle 13, due to ovulate this week and currently awaiting an appt for fertility clinic, which has a speedy 7 month waiting list Hmm x

Report
impatientmammy · 24/09/2019 21:56

Wow @Ree91 that's a long wait. Has your GP done any tests already? Welcome to the group x

Report
Ree91 · 24/09/2019 21:59

@impatientmammy it is indeed! Fingers crossed for a cancellation. I've had an ultrasound and tv scan both of which come back clear and confirmed I did ovulate, and dp has his sa results next week too. Other than that, gp didn't really know what to do. This is both our first time ttc after being on the pill for around 14 years!

Where are you upto in your journey x

@impatientmammy its taken 2.5 weeks this time. Last time was 1 week though so I guess it depends on how busy they are. He can collect them tomorrow. Receptionist advised seeing a GP though so not sure if that means anything
@NoseringGirl I have some cheap pink dye tests waiting but they aren't very sensitive so trying to wait til Friday (and massively symptom spotting now too!)
@MorgenMuffel sorry today was rubbish. This is a good space to rant
Hi @Ree91 7 months! That's a long time! Good that you've had some tests already though

Ree91 · 24/09/2019 23:25

Hi @dragonmummy17 indeed, I know some people's gp won't refer until ttc 2 years so although it feels so long away, it could definitely be worse. How long have you been ttc? Is this your first? X

Report
NoseringGirl · 25/09/2019 09:35

@Ree91 welcome! Hope your stay here is a short one and that you don't end up needing that appointment you've got such a long wait for!

@dragonmummy17 stay strong waiting to test! Good luck for Friday!

@impatientmammy makes me feel in control too, as much as I can anyway and like I'm doing something. A lot of TTC feels passive, it's mostly just waiting around!

CD8 here and a low on the OPK which I expected. I think I started getting highs around CD9 last month so will see what happens tomorrow. I've got some work stress at the moment that's really getting to me. I'm worried it's going to impact on ovulation because my body seems to use any excuse not to ovulate Confused

I hope it doesn't @NoseringGirl 🤞
@dragonmummy17 keep us updated. we need our results back before ivf so we can determine a plan.
@Ree91 I don't think they do much if they can't find a problem to fix. I'm glad he's referred you though, hopefully you don't have to wait that long or you just get pregnant before they call x

Also I just had my first ever 28 day cycle with a really decent 13 day luteal phase. My luteal phase is usually usually short so no idea what happened there 🤷🏻‍♀️ Quite excited this cycle feels like no pressure x

@NoseringGirl thank you! Where are you upto in your journey? Fingers crossed for a positive opk, my cycles are typically 33/34 days so my positive usually arrives around cd19 or 20! Isn't it mad how different our cycles are! X

@impatientmammy I hope so too! Are you just starting a new cycle now? Fingers crossed for you Smile hopefully this is the start of a longer luteal, have you done anything differently? X

@impatientmammy great news on the cycle and LP length!

@Ree91 I find it fascinating how different cycles can be between women and even how much my own can vary! I have PCOS so can be all over the place. I've been TTC for coming up to 18 months now and have had around 4 chemicals in that time. I'm actually TTC my third child and often feel bad for complaining about TTC because I'm lucky enough to have two already. We struggled when TTC both of them though (first was a clomid baby). So never been an easy road for us!

@NoseringGirl will clomid work for you again this time round? Sorry if that's a silly question, not familiar with how it works 🙈 I think the struggle is the same whether it's your first or third, it probably never gets easier no matter how many you do or don't have so you should never feel bad! X

Report
impatientmammy · 25/09/2019 21:56

@Ree91 I don't know how many cycles exactly but I've been trying two years now.
@NoseringGirl I always feel guilty about that too. I think it's still really hard but then every now and then I remember just how bloody lucky I am and get annoyed with myself for obsessing over what I don't have. I think I'd have found it a lot harder if I had been in this situation trying for my first as I know my body can do what it needs to do now. I hope that makes sense. Still though if someone said that to me on my first day of spotting after convincing myself I'm pregnant for the thousandth time I think I'd want to hit them 😂🙈 infertility isn't easy for anyone x
