@KatBeCool @FlapJackered @Broodyaf @bunhead34 @RosettaR @MotherOfShihTzus @starkid @Lina365

I thought I'd start a new thread as the other one is full. Sorry if I've missed anyone out.

Thanks @Mrs71 good thinking!
I think you're right about zika, and there is a good chance I won't be pregnant in May anyway. I think I will just get cancellation insurance then if I change my mind for any reason we can cancel it.

@FlapJackered the amount of pregnant women I saw was crazy! We can't just put our life on hold. My Acupuncture lady yesterday told me to do a pregnancy test on Sunday. I'm going for a blood test tomorrow for the consultant as it's been 4 weeks since I started to take the thyroid medication. If I do get a BFP then I can tell the consultant when she calls me about the results. I keep thinking it probably will be a bfn!

@Mrs71 thank you for the new thread! FX you get a bfp and your thyroid is looking more positive.

@FlapJackered May is far away, you can easily be pregnant by then.

Had my IUI yesterday, it hurt so much more for some reason and it took forever. She said I had a lot of ewcm, which is good. Goes to show you though that if you don't see ewcm, doesn't mean it's not there. DH post--wash sperm count was only 10.7 mil, barely above the requirement. Thankfully, as long as it's above 9mil, you have the same chance whether it's 10 or 100. They all say "it takes only one" but also apparently the death of its 9,999,999 brothers.

Thank you @KatBeCool. I'm hoping my TSH level has gone up. Good luck for this month! Strange it hurt more this month? I've been looking at dye test. Some private clinics give you local anaesthetic in the cervix 😂

@Mrs71 I wonder how well that anaesthetic works and what it is. Is it something like they use for your teeth?

@KatBeCool I have no idea, I've just read it online. Hopefully I won't have to have one done but I do I will definitely look into it.

Thanks for the new thread and for tagging me @Mrs71!

I'm on cycle day 22, and I usually start spotting around day 22-24. For some reason I rarely take a pregancy test because I take spotting as a sign of AF. In this cycle I know that if she does come there's a good chance I'll get the dye test done right after. It sounds like everyone experiences it differently, sometimes it hurts, sometimes it doesn't. It's strange how I'm not as scared of the idea anymore as I thought I'd be. I also used to be scared of needles, and now I just want all the possible blood tests done. I want all the facts!

@KatBeCool Good news about the post-wash number! Good luck with the wait! Do you have an official test date?

Good luck for Sunday @Mrs71 and for your blood test result. I had acupuncture yesterday and enjoyed it. I'm much more sold on it now that there's been an improvement to my cycle.

Good luck to you as well @KatBeCool. I'm glad this cycle sounds like it's goimg well. Crossing my fingers for both of you, this thread needs some good news!

Stupid question about opks for someone: do you assume you are ovulating the day after a positive opk? That's what I think it should be, but if I plug a positive opk into Natural Cycles app it assumes I'm ovulating two days after. Or could it be either?

Report
Lina365 · 20/09/2019 09:31

@RosettaR I had exactly the same question! I use Natural Cycles, too, and the app always claims my ovulation happens around 2 days later than it does, despite me putting in the positive OPK. Also, it's weird that the app always suggests that ovulation has happened AFTER the temperatures have started rising. I thought that the BBT rises after the ovulation has happened. I've had my ovulation confirmed by ultrasound in two different cycles when the app says it hasn't happened yet (and I've been especially meticulous with temping around my doctor's visits!).

In this cycle, I had a positive OPK Wed morning, went to the doctor's Thu morning, and ovulation was confirmed by ultrasound.

KatBeCool · 20/09/2019 09:56

@RosettaR on the broadest range, you ovulate 6 to 48 after positive opk, on average it's 24-36 hours. Often times I had a surge and positive opk for two days in a row.

Thank you all for good wishes and all the crossed fingers. I'm trying to stay positive. Things seem to have gone better this cycle, so I'm more hopeful. I need to confirm the beta hcg test date, the person who did the IUI did he math way wrong and put it at like 19dpo. But I'm guessing 2nd October is the date. My bbt shot up yesterday and today, this is such a difference from the cycles prior to the last two (before IUI). Usually it took me 2-3 days to see a good rise. I'm already cranky and short-tempered and I haven't event started taking progesterone yet. My poor DH.

RosettaR · 20/09/2019 18:17

Thanks for the info @KatBeCool. It sounds good that your body seems to be giving you luteal phase symptoms even before the progesterone.

@Lina365 It sounds like Natural Cycles is giving us the latest possible ovulation day. That makes sense because I think it was originally designed to help you avoid an unwanted pregnancy. So it won't tell you you have ovulated until the app is 100% sure. I think that's good news for me, possibly my luteal phase isn't as short as I thought. I now think it may have gone from 12 to 13 days with acupuncture, rather than 11 to 12.

Dnon't know why but I didn't get an email notification about the new thread! Thanks for making one :) I'm 3dpo, tha boring time before you can even symptom spot, so nothing exciting to report I'm afraid.

@starkid we're cycle twins, I'm also 3dpo today. Definitely nothing exciting. I think my boobs are starting to get fuller and sore.

Thanks for starting a new thread @Mrs71 😊 I'm just marking my place here, nothing to report as this cycle we aren't allowed to even try because of the hycosy. I'm ovulating at the moment and it feels horrid to know we have to ignore it. I really feel for people who normally have long cycles, kinda glad mine are short as i'd be too impatient!!

Keeping my fingers crossed for you @KatBeCool, sounds really promising!!

Mrs71 · 22/09/2019 11:56

@PineappleC good luck with with the hycosy! Let me know how it goes.

BFN for me today! Feel annoyed with myself for even getting my hopes up.

Hi all,
Thanks for the new thread!
I've been a bit quiet of Late as finding it all a bit much.

I'm 8dpo and having a very specific little pain on my right side for a few days 🤷🏼‍♀️ prob just af f'ing with me!
I've got a dildo cam appointment on Tues, having my scan re-done by the fertility clinic before our proper appointment.
Does anyone know if they can still do the scan if af starts to arrive? I'm expecting her Spotting to start any moment.

@FlapJackered I would def still go!
It is so hard not to put your life on hold tho ❤️

Report
KatBeCool · 22/09/2019 20:44

@bunhead34 dildo cam! They can do it even during AF. The CD3 scan is done for many women during quite heavy flow. Good luck during the scan! I'm guessing they'll be looking at your lining, if there are any cysts and if they can see the growing follicles.

RosettaR · 22/09/2019 20:44

Sorry to hear about your bfn @Mrs71. I get annoyed with myself every month for getting my hopes up. It's so hard not to hope because at the day it is still possible. When is af due?

@bunhead34 I don't know. Did they ask you about your cycle when they arranged it? I'm sure they would have if they needed you not to be on your period. I very much doubt spotting will stop them.

Lina365 · 23/09/2019 06:02

@bunhead34 I love the term dildo cam Grin
What do you ladies do to take your mind off your worries? I have started to spend more time outdoors and doing more exercise. Can't hurt! I also love learning new things like coding. It takes so much focus that there's no space for symptom spotting for me when I'm doing it.

I found out yesterday my sister-in-law is pregnant. There aren't many female friends around me at the moment who aren't pregnant...

RosettaR · 23/09/2019 07:52

@Lina365 good question! I am rubbish at taking my mind off it, I need to learn to relax and find some other things to focus on, like you! I am trying to go for walks at lunch time after what KatBeCool said about being sedentary being bad for your uterus lining, and that's also relaxing too.

Particularly today, I have my repeat AMH blood test and I am terrified of the result. Really hope it has not gone down further.

KatBeCool · 23/09/2019 09:50

@Lina365 I mainly try not to be bored. Otherwise my thoughts wander and get me all sad. Although going places and seeing all these happy pregnant women or those with four-five kids certainly feels like a kick in the uterus every time.

@RosettaR they say you need get up and move around at least once every hour. And that's on top of gym. If anything, it's good for your own sake, not even ttc.

The spotting had just started today 😭 fairly gutted. I've got a family wedding this weekend - if get any baby questions I might lose it!

@Lina365 I'm rubbish at taking my mind off it, drinking too much wine helps but prob not the best method 🙈
Could also use some ideas!

I had the scan today, it was fine, I just had a little spotting. Also got a blood test to check ovarian reserve, now just waiting for our appointment at the end of Oct to discuss options.

I'm starting to think I have endo (although the scan don't show anything) I have other symptoms that I've recently heard about by chance on various podcasts.
Has anyone else been diagnosed with endo with clear scans??
