October bus

Haven't seen an October bus yet so I figured I'd start one as AF showed up today for me.

TTC 1
Cycle 3
Age 31
AF due around 5 October

7 October is my birthday so would not be opposed to a bit of a present in the form of a BFP 😄

Not sure yet if I'll do anything special this cycle other than taking follic acid and DTD, contemplating buying Clear Blue OPKs though I'm hoping to stay as relaxed as possible (completely failed at that last cycle and obsessed about everything so hopefully I got that out of my system...)

I'm here. I swore off MN in about May because I was stressing so much but I've been lurking too much to not join in.

TTC #1
Cycle number bloody 8
Age 35
AF due the 3rd October

Because of my age, and my diabetes, I have a GP appointment on the 30th September, and DH is making one too.

Nothing else, other than high strength folic acid, keeping extremely close tabs on my blood sugar (it has been close to 'perfect' for nearly a year now, and the effort in that alone is nearly killing me). I do have some OPKs I bought in a moment of weakness, but we are DTD every other day any way, so I'm not sure they will help any.

I REALLY hope you get the birthday present you want

@limesoda Sorry to hear it's been a tricky journey for you so far, sounds like you've been really disciplined with the diet and sugars! I know what you mean it's hard to keep a balance, which doesn't help anything, hopefully we can keep each other in check 😊

Hi! This is my first cycle of actually TTC. I was a bit late last month and started obsessing so going to approach this month in a relaxed way. I'm going to try to lose some weight and get more active. I've also ordered some CB OPKs to give me an idea of what's going on. However there are birthdays and a house move going on this month so will be nicely distracted!

Age 26
AF due October 3rd

@justanithergurl Welcome! Sounds like a lot of us are going for a similar approach this month! Hopefully we can stay relaxed about it all 😃

Hi @Raizelrea @justanothergurl and @limesoda,

Jumping over here too if that's okay :)

CD1
TTC Nr1
Cycle 2

Came off POP about 6 weeks ago. Used Clue app to track cycles and OPKs last month. Didn't get a positive OPK but missed a few days of testing as DH and I were away for a weekend. DTD every day of fertile week last month and BFN.

New strategy this month is to try and chill about it. I don't want it to take over my entire life which it pretty much has done this month. Contemplated leaving mumsnet but find the support of others in the same situation helpful so am going to limit myself to checking twice a day only!

Good things about TTC this time of year.....BFPs in the next month or two can be announced to family at xmas which would be nice

@Raizelrea it's my birthday the week after yours! Though am 3 years older lol! Fingers crossed for birthday BFPs!

Yep @Raizelrea I'm just really sick of being so angelic all the time with no goal in sight.

Hi @MrsMeow2019 and @justanothergurl Try to chill out as much as possible. I'm usually pretty alright until the second week of the 2WW, but I'm now panicking there is a 'problem' and age is not on my side. Hopefully lots of BFPs around the 3rd!

@limesoda I can't imagine how hard it is to get that good a control on your sugars, it will all be worth it though :). You've made me think I should stop complaining about dieting and just get on with it, so am going to aim to be a bit better and cut out snacks/sugar this month !

I'd love to join. AF arrives here yesterday too. Coil was removed in Aug but didnt try that first month, wanted a month to get back to normality. I'll likely use opks and taking trying for a baby vitamins but other than that just see what happens. It's also my birthday around testing time, 1st Oct and will be on holiday so hopefully get a nice lucky bfp 🤞🤞

TTC #2
Cycle 1
Age 29 (almost 30)

justanothergurl · 06/09/2019 22:01

I was going to order OPKs but cancelled them in the end. Definitely don't want to get stressed about it all. DH reminded me that we conceived with our DS the month we stopped trying so it makes sense not to stress. The only change I've made is folic acid and a healthier diet.

Hi all you lovely mummas to be!

Firstly I apologise for this lengthy message, you may want to get comfy and grab a cuppa before you start!

Here goes...a bit of background if anyone is experiencing similar.

This will be my second pregnancy. However, my first time ‘trying to conceive’ as my first pregnancy was a ‘whooopsie’ at 18 years old. After seeing friends go through the struggle of trying to get pregnant my husband suggested instead of us actively trying to get pregnant we simply stop contraception and let nature take its course. I’ve been off my contraceptive pill since around January and have not been to concerned since then that I’ve not fallen pregnant yet because I know it takes a while for periods to return to normal after the pill and because of my teaching career I would prefer a ‘summer born’ as to take advantage of a year long maternity leave. My periods returned to normal very soon after stopping the pill however since around May I started having much longer cycles with much shorter/if any periods. I saw a GP who ordered 21 day ovulation blood tests.

I have no received a letter back asking to make an appointment within 2 to 4 weeks so I’m Expecting the worst and worrying what my results may be. Has anyone had similar after an ovulation blood test?

Anyway... according to 2 of my apps I am now 2 days late (negative pregnancy tests) for my period and my other says it’s due on 10th September.

I’m very new to this tracking and cycle and fertile window so any advice is greatly welcomed! I’ve worked out the best time for me to conceive would be October/November so now I’m starting to panic!

Sorry if this was too much! Sending positive thoughts to you all!

Hi everyone,

TTC DC1
Trying since March
Came off combined pill August 2018 to get ready. Had withdrawal bleed, then 8 weeks until first natural AF. Had 3 regular cycles then as soon as we started TTC in March it took me over 3 months to get an AF. Lost some weight (only about 4 kilos) and have since then had 2 normal cycles. If all goes well, BFP or AF due 5th October.

I'm ready for some good news! Getting very impatient and due to my body being weird earlier this year I worry every month. This month I've started temping with femometer. We've not been tracking anything so I want to know when/if I'm ovulating. So hard not to stress as I'm a perfectionist.

@katiem3 Welcome to the October bus, you sound like you take a chilled approach, something I'm going to try this month. I've taken to internet shopping instead of thinking about babies....which has been working but costing me a small fortune already lol

on the plus I've bought some gin, a bauble and a new dress lol!

Re your bloods, 2-4 weeks is routine so I wouldn't worry too much, if your progesterone level were low they'll likely ask you to repeat the test again so might be worth making an appointment sooner rather than later so you can get it in this cycle

@MrsMeow2019

Many thanks for your message! :) I’m loving the internet shopping approach but yes it could end up very costly so keep an eye on that!

Thank you for the reassurance regarding my bloods...I will try ring before school Monday morning and get something booked in. I’ve been avoiding it for the past few days as I guess no news is good news but you’re right the sooner the better

Loved what you mentioned earlier about being able to tell people at Christmas...what an amazing present for us all that would be!!

@katiem3 it's better just to know what's going on imo, but day 21 bloods are usually just a progesterone level, did you have day 2-4 bloods as well (FSH/LH/testosterone etc) ? It's usual practice to do both as they tell you different things so if you haven't it's worth asking for.

It is such a nice time of year isn't it, I keep thinking how nice it would be to tell family at xmas, but then worry I'm getting ahead of myself and thinking about it makes it less likely to happen - which really is daft but the TTC thing seems to make us all a bit crazy. That's my excuse anyway....

@MrsMeow2019 you’re completely right. It is at least that way I can make a plan if needs be! No, it was only the 21 day ovulation test my GP ordered so I guess if they have come back with something flagged up I will ask the GP for the other test thank you!

It would be a lovely time to tell family! I couldn’t agree more - I’m not supposed to be thinking about ‘trying’ according to husband but I just can’t help it!! I was following a thread on a September bus where I noticed lots of BFPs so I’m hoping we all have the same luck!!

@katiem3 I did. They told me it was all down to stress or just my body taking its time after the pill, as I had bloods and they were all normal. I moved to a new position soon after this all happened and became much less stressed so I believe the doctors and am now just waiting. If it gets to next March I'll go back.

I sound way more chilled out typing this than I really am haha! I want to try preseed or something similar as I do have an issue with dryness. Anyone got any tips on the different lubes out there?

Sooo since the ethos of this group seems to be taking a relaxed approach and hoping the eggs and sperms get the message....

Do you ladies have any nice plans this month to distract you from thinking about TTC?

My job is really busy buy I only work 3/4 days a week and one day a week I have my nephew which is lovely but makes my ovaries shreek! Got plans with friends over the next few weekends but they all have little babies to cuddle and coo over....

I need to plan some non baby activities

@iRawra I’m glad to hear you’re much less stressed and things have returned to normal! I do completely agree that stress can affect our bodies so it makes sense. I didn’t think recently I had much to stress about but maybe I did.

Here’s hoping we get our Christmas presents!
