I'm pretty certain I ovulated on Friday, after 2 months of constant negative opks. So these next two weeks are going to drive me fully barmy! Anyone else out there in the TWW?

Heya!
I am and it’s driving me nuts already 🤣
Flo says I ovulated on Thurs but I think it was Weds so either 3/4dpo today and been symptom spotting like a mad woman!
Glad to hear you think you ovulated this month. Must be a relief after 2 months of negatives. Did you get a positive OPK?

ALittleBitAlexis · 01/09/2019 11:45

I did! It's the first time I've seen the test line darker than the control line, it was a huge relief - was going to go to the doctor if I didn't get a positive this month.

Let's hope this fortnight passes quickly, I'm terrible for symptom-spotting at the best of times (I swear I can feel something getting to work in my abdomen, and of course it's not just digestion...) so it's going to be even worse this month!

Hi ladies! Can I join? I’m CD18 and due AF on Sept 8th. I just started using OPKs this month so I’m still trying to figure them out! On the day the line is as strong as control line, is that the day of ovulation? If so... I am 5DPO. My Flo app says I’m 7 DPO but I’m assuming that’s probably not accurate. We DTD a lot this month so fingers crossed. No symptoms yet Confused

Yes! Though am further along, 10dpo. Wasn’t hopeful and BFN this morning. No symptoms other than tender breasts and pulling/aches in pelvic area.

Then got stretchy CM this morning, and some brown spotting now (which I had at 8 dpo last couple of pregnancies) so could be a good sign?

I’m in the 2WW, but I don’t think I ovulated properly this cycle, so I’m not getting my hopes up. (Ok, honestly... that’s what I’m saying, but deep down I’m desperately clinging onto hope for a BFP!).

I’m 38 and this is cycle #2 since coming off Yasmine BCP.

I’ve been taking Vitex, Co-Q10, Myo-Inositol, EPO before Ov and loads of other vitamins and teas.
Seeing as I’ve had 2 anovulatory cycles, I’ve decided to stop taking the Vitex at the end of this cycle, and replace it with Soy Isoflavones from CD3-7 next cycle. Apparently SI are great for women who are TTCing over 35, plus they help with egg quality and ovulation. I’m hoping SI will trigger a strong ovulation next month, if I’m not blessed with a BFP this cycle.

I’d love to make some buddies to help keep me sane through this arduous TTC journey! I’m only 2 cycles in, and already feeling anxious about our chances.

Good luck to all the lovely ladies who are also praying for a BFP ASAP! Xxx

@Moongirl10 - My understanding is that the opk shows a surge in the LH hormone, which usually occurs 24-36 hours before ovulation (but it can vary). But because sperm lives for a while, and it takes time to reach the egg, a positive opk shows a great time to dtd. I think measuring your basal body temperature is a more accurate guide to exactly when you ovulate, but I'm rubbish at remembering to take my temp before I get up in the morning so I can't do that!

@Livingmagicallyagain those symptoms today sound really promising, fingers crossed!

@coconuttymummy Thanks for the info on your supplements, I'm almost 37 so the SI sounds like it could be useful. So far I've only taken methylfolate and Ubiquinone/CoQ10. It's crazy how anxious this process makes you, I'm normally a laid-back person but TTC is really doing a number on me (it's cycle 5 for me)

@sar1988 fingers crossed you get a BFP on the first try, it's happened to a few people I know!

Me 🙋🏽‍♀️ I think about 4 DPO. This is our second month trying. Had a chemical pregnancy a couple of week ago and I definitely felt a lot of things going on in the lead up to that. Makes it difficult to not look out for the same things this time 🙈

I am! Flo says I ovulated Thursday so 3dpo. This is my first cycle and i'm so nervous

@alittlebitalexis Oh gosh, YES! I was never this stressed out with my previous pregnancies, but now im 38 im totally racing against the clock and trying my best to rectify any age-related fertility issues (non successfully, at present, it seems! Ugh!).

I know ive only given Vitex 1 cycle to work and it can take 3-6 months to fully take effect, but I just have a feeling that it might not be the best supplement for my current situation. Given that I've not ovulated for the past 2 cycles I think I should really concentrate on supps that encourage egg health and ovulation. Im hoping that if I get a strong ovulation, the Corpus Luteum will naturally produce enough Progesterone for the Luteal Period. This is all guesswork though. Bloody nightmare trying to work this all out, tbh, but at least it keeps me busy and stops me sinking into depression. At present im feeling SERIOUSLY worried about my chances of achieving baby #3. Im praying for a really good ovulation next cycle, if only to keep me sane and hopeful! Hoping the SI help with that.

Good luck with your journey too. Hoping we all get our BFPs real soon. xxxx

Hi All,

I'm currently 3/4DPO. Had positive OPKs Tuesday and Wednesday then negative Thursday onwards. First month trying SMEP and although we didn't manage to follow it to the letter, we still covered the fertile period so keeping our fingers crossed. This will/would be our 1st DC. AF due 12th so will prob start testing from 10th x

I'm 6 dpo and the tww is dragging. What do you all do to keep your mind off it and wanting to test as early as you can

MountAbora · 01/09/2019 15:25

@ALittleBitAlexis yeah you really must have been pleased to see those 2 dark lines then!! It’s so frustrating waiting isn’t it? We wait from af to fw then we have the awful tww. Definitely fingers crossed for a quick couple of weeks!
@Cake2, @GoldLeafTree @Each2TheirOwn I think we are around the same dpo as I think I’m 3/4dpo today.
@Cake2 I had a chemical a couple of months ago & it’s awful but doesn’t mean it will happen again, tho I completely understand the worry that it will.

We have been ttc since March and this would be my first. I’m not massively confident this month as only managed to dtd twice during my fertile week Confused

Gosh I am going mad this month. Feeling age pressure and age gap pressure too. Also ttc 3, did SMEP and first month using OPK’s too but who knows. Such a lottery. Not testing until af due (and all three apps have a different date), usually as regular as clockwork, so af apparently between 4th and 9th!!! Don’t remember any symptoms for either previous pregnancies until about 6 wks ish but hasn’t stopped me spotting them the last couple of months!! Mental woman!

ALittleBitAlexis · 01/09/2019 16:05

@MrssC92 It's really hard! I try to remind myself of previous disappointments from testing too early, and I've resisted buying any cheapy tests so I have to shell out £10 a pop and that gives me pause :P

It's still on my mind way too much though, I haven't worked out how to stop thinking about it.

@ALittleBitAlexis that's a really good idea! I have some cheap ones off Amazon which I should get rid of and stick to my clear blue digital so ill only test when I'm late. I suppose we'll anyways think about it with hope but controlling it by when we test is a good start

Just musing...better to test early and risk finding a chemical but at least know you got pregnant or wait until af but not know whether you even ovulated or got pregnant but save the heartache? Have never tested early (mainly for cost reasons) so just musing.

Cake2 · 01/09/2019 20:22

@MountAbora sorry to hear that you had a chemical too! It was more upsetting than I expected. It didn’t help that I was soo hormonal / emotional anyway 😂

@chaosonthehorizon I said at the time I wished I hadn’t known but now I’m glad I did. Will definitely make me more hesitant to believe any future pregnancies and I would probably wait until AF is due to test.

Who knew how complicated TTC was! All worth it in the end I’m sure...

Report
MountAbora · 01/09/2019 20:29

@chaosonthehorizon I wondered that too. The last month we ttc I was 2 days late & we almost convinced ourselves I was pg then were pretty upset when af arrived. When I had my chemical pregnancy I tested at 10dpo & the only silver lining of the experience was that I told myself at least I could get pg. This month I feel like a BFN would at least prepare me for af. I think it depends on how you feel that month.
