Hey

So on my first cycle of SMEP, some of you may already have been on threads with me 😊

I’m 6dpo today, over the past few days I’ve had lower back ache and a few cramps at about 1-3dpo. I’ve had no other symptoms and I know it’s still early to have anything. Anyway today I’ve felt quite heavy in my tummy and when I went toilet (sorry tmi warning) I’ve wiped and there’s been a tiny amount of red blood. Honestly it was like a pin prick but wiped over 🤦🏻‍♀️ I’m not explaining properly!!

It’s gone now and there was none on the second wipe, I’ve put on a panty liner to see if it is continual but nope nothing!

Is this just spotting until AF arrives? I never spot before AF. Anyone have any advice?

I had exactly the same and now I am about 5 days late on my period... never had spotting ever before and never been late either so...

(Too scared to test, been trying on/off for almost a year)

Good luck x x

@Headswim oh wow, do you think you’re pregnant?

When are you going to test?

Kinda shocked if so, only DTD once in 2 months... we've had a really stressful time of late but all good now. I know my partner does want kids and we were actively trying for ages with no joy. We're both mid thirties.

I know he's worried about sleepless nights etc as he runs a business and it's quite a crucial time. And space in our house (can't sell due to Brexit!)

Guess I am just a bit worried about stressing him out unnecessarily- he is a really planner - eg if I am not or if I am and lose it. I have a chemical earlier this year and it was sad for both of us when it didn't happen. So was going to mention I was late on Friday (if indeed AF does not) and suggest we test together on Saturday. I normally have cycle of 28/29 days but now on 33...

Obv I am over the moon if I am... fingers crossed for both of us xx

Hi, I'm a big lurker on your other thread as I love your positivity. There are two other things I can think off that can cause small bleed.

  1. You got thrush, is it possible that you scratch yourself without noticing and making yourself bleed a little? Thrush can be very itchy.
  2. Are you constipation? If yes, is it possible that the spec of blood came from the wrong hole? I know you know the difference between the holes but was the tissue long and was there a possibility that it touched somewhere close to it?

I hope that it is implantation bleeding and you get your bfp soon. Stay strong and positive. From a lurker/ fan

Could be implantation from what I have read recently.
I am 3dpo and had pelvic pain in left side and backache for past couple of days but i do get pelvic pain sometimes so trying not to read into it too much!

@Veryveryverylate aww thank you that’s so kind. Feel free to join, we love having a big support network.

I’m answer to those points, yes correct about the thrush and I didn’t even consider that but I had no symptoms of itchiness or anything so to my knowledge I don’t think I’d have accidentally scratched myself but that’s worth thinking about.

Constipation, again it could be but I’m pretty sure it wasn’t, I had really bad cramps as though I had a uti but I got that checked and it was clear so I’m not sure but again something to think about, plus I’ve not had any since.

Thank you for your well wishes and I hope to see you on the other thread

@wannabemum38 I had that from about 3dpo onwards and my back was killing! I hope it’s a good sign for us both 🤞 I’ve never had IB before so I was really hoping this was it

@AllHopeAndNoResults, Thank you for the invite but not this cycle. I'm due af on Sunday and this month I (hopefully not) been having lot of fake symptoms. So I'm now waiting for af to show up. Don't want to bring in negativity.
Lol, I'm writing like a first time mom, but I have two sons. I'm just running low on patience.

Hope your dh is fine Flowers

@Veryveryverylate no worries. It’s totally understandable, this situation can really take it out of you. I’m hoping that your AF doesn’t arrive. I’ve got everything crossed for you 🤞🤞🤞

Hi guys,

I'm a newbie, I wrote on couple posts already. I'm 13DPO and af is due on Saturday. Had a bfn this morning and lunchtime and I think I make my symptoms up in my head to cling on to any hope.
TTC 3rd cycle for our 1st baby.
I'm almost 29 but my fiancé is much older, so I'm not even sure if we can have a little bean :(
Loosing hope slowly.

Hi @Katie1109 age isn’t always the biggest factor there have been many mums at 40+ and men can make babies into their 80’s so try not to keep that as a negative in your mind. I was 29 yesterday and I still think it’s all worth a go.
Sorry to hear about your bfn but you’re not out till AF arrives

Hi @AllHopeAndNoResults thanks for your reply. I just feel like I'm getting defeated by my own body and mind at the moment. I have only used cheap tests from amazon, don't see a point in spending megabucks until I can at least see something remotely resembling 2nd line. I'll test again tomorrow morning and then let's see what happens on Saturday. My af is normally there first thing when I wake up and my cycle has been bang on 27 days every time since I came off the pill 4 months ago.

@Katie I know how you feel, the body is one big trick and it feels like every month there’s a sign to point to pregnancy BUT it will happen and we just have to wait it out and be patient. Believe me I know how hard it is but we can’t make ourselves crazy over it because it isn’t good for the mind.
I’ve spent every day having my every thought on what my body is doing now and I’ve woke up today feeling like I need to chill out and try ignore it otherwise it will take over your whole life and it won’t be a happy experience.
🤞 it will happen for us soon

@AllHopeAndNoResults the fact I am sooooo tired that I am struggling to keep my eyes open at work right now definitely does not help with how I feel.
I see everyone around me announcing pregnancies and it really gets me down that it's never going to be me. All my school friends on FB already have kids etc and I just feel like I want it so much it is actually never going to happen for me.
I definitely have very sore boobs and I'm very tired anything else I may feel atm I will just assume is in my head!

@katie I wish I could help you through to give you a positive mindset I really do. All I can say is though, I’m feeling the same with pregnancy announcements etc and it really doesn’t matter about your circumstances, when something is important to you it will make you upset.
I feel the same every month but I just keep thinking it’s going to happen, no matter how long it takes. I have one ds he is 7 next week but the need to have another is overwhelming and upsetting when so many people fall so quickly but it just means when your little one does get to you then it’s an even greater miracle. It’s hard to stay positive and keep a level head but you have to try. Have you been to the GP? Take any supplements? Tried the SMEP plan?

@AllHopeAndNoResults thank you. Just chatting about it helps. I'm glad I'm not alone. I take pregnacare conception. I have notified my GP when I came off the pill, had a smear test etc to check everything was ok before I start and all came back good. I haven't tried SMEP plan yet, my other half is more of "it happens when it happens" relaxed approach and I'm all over the place seeing symptoms everywhere. Fingers crossed for tomorrow morning. mumsnet ovulation calculator shows that my 1st day of period is meant to be tomorrow on day 27 of my cycle, but my Flo app shows Saturday, so not sure what to believe atm. My cycles are 27 days long for the last 4 months x

@katie I’m glad it helps. If you need to vent then come on here I’ll listen.

Most men are like that I think tbh. You could do the plan without him really knowing, it’s just a case of really regular sex 😂 it helps to feel a bit more in control.

Hi ladies,
BFN for me this morning with FMU. 14 DPO. According to mumsnet calendar af should arrive today, but my Flo app shows tomorrow. AF is always with me first thing when I wake up though. Boobs are still extremely sore and woke up with a bit of nusea :(

Hi there,
No still no sign of af. No cramps at all. Boobs still very sore and feel weird tingling on my right side around ovary. Normally I have ridiculous cramps day before and the day of af. Felt nausea this morning but it went away about 10am. Heartburn just returned and all I had to eat was a sandwich so that’s not likely to cause it! I’ll test again tomorrow x when is your af due?
