Aitch Mon 30-Jul-07 10:37:22

oh god, dealing with anything that's not an outright emergency is a nightmare in summer, isn't it? so unfair...

lissie Mon 30-Jul-07 10:43:01

i know. if this wasnt my life/body that we were talking about i'd laugh. its a real comedy of errors.

IckyThump Mon 30-Jul-07 10:44:11

Oh lissie I am so sorry, its just not fair

I can't belive that after everything you have been through you have to wait until Oct.

lissie Mon 30-Jul-07 10:47:23

sparklesandwine Mon 30-Jul-07 11:52:29

Oh God Lissie they are taking the piss. Bloody nhs just gets worse and worse. I know its expensive but once all tests are done could you see your consultant privately usually £100 per session.
I havent cancelled any of my nhs appointments even though we have started the ivf. As they kept cancelling them, I did have one for september but they cancelled it next appointment in 2008! Surprise surprise could get a private appointment next week! These consultants certainly make there money up.

lissie Mon 30-Jul-07 15:24:09

cant really afford it cedar. im furious, absolutely fecking furious!

Saturn74 Mon 30-Jul-07 15:26:06

Oh Lissie, this is so bloody unfair for you.

JillJ72 Mon 30-Jul-07 15:59:29

Think I'd be back on the phone, demanding to know what's going on, and why the results aren't back, where are they etc etc. You need a good explanation.

Having had my HSG two days before our anniversary, 6 days before EDD 1st birthday, it isn't something I'd recommend - having these kinds of appointments at such sensitive times.

Lissie I think it might be worth you talking to your PALS department at your hospital. I have refered people to them at work when they have had crap treatment. They might be able to help you find out whats going on and give people a kick up the bum. I think most trust have a PALS department I really think they might be able to help.

JillJ72 Mon 30-Jul-07 18:38:00

BTW: PALS is Patient Advice and Liaison Service. There will be one either at your hospital, or if you want to also try going for the jugular, your local PCT (Primary Care Trust).

NormaStanleyFletcher Mon 30-Jul-07 18:41:00

oh FFS

twunts

Go back to PALS or someone and kick some ass

cedar12 Mon 30-Jul-07 18:45:29

Thanks jill72 forgot that bit. Lissie I will post on other thread in a minute.

JillJ72 Mon 30-Jul-07 19:03:53

I think part of the problem is that infertility isn't a life threatening condition, but there is no underestimating the damage it does to one's life. NICE guidelines recognise the impact, there needs to be greater awareness.

We all read about celebrity pregnancies... what about those who struggle?

gothicmama Mon 30-Jul-07 19:30:09

Lissie, hope you get this I have no credit on phone and have lost your email- I may not be able to make 6th but I'll be in touch at week end take care hun,

lissie Mon 30-Jul-07 20:23:29

no worries gothic, will email you later.

thank you all, we are in the process of sueing the trust anyway because of the way they handled ds's birth so its all gone in my folder. tried to get an earlier appt at a different hospital but no go.

Rainbowdays Mon 30-Jul-07 21:42:47

Lissie - I am so angry for you. This is so so wrong. I hate the way you have been treated it is not right. It is no comedy of errors, it is maltreatment of you.

lissie Mon 30-Jul-07 23:00:45

thank you rainbow. think we'll take a month off ttc tho. how are you? have you retested?
