Advice on regulating cycles?

Any advice on helping me get back to normal cycles, came off the implant after 6 years (changed after 3) in August 2017, no cycle for 5 months so docs put me on the pill. Been off that over 3 months, no af yet but got cramps, cravings and moody a few weeks ago and was convinced I was getting it with no luck. I’m a healthy weight, eat well and exercise. I’m 27 and been taking wellwoman max for the last 2 months. I never had issues before contractives but now we want to start TTC I’m convinced there’s something wrong with me :( also had loads of blood tests and everything came back normal

Contraceptives I mean* I’ve also taken regular ovulation tests but always negative

I think Agnus Castus is supposed to help, could be worth a try

@NameChange30 I heard that but when I read more about it people also said it can seriously mess up your cycles

Well yours are messed up anyway, so 🤷🏻‍♀️

Alternatively if you can afford it you could go private for fertility testing and advice.

But it took ages for my cycles to settle after coming off the pill, I'm a bit confused about why you'd go on that if you were planning to TTC but the doctor must have advised it for a reason.

@NameChange30 true but I don’t want to do anything that may make them even worse, I’m still waiting on my first one since coming off the pill.

I wasn’t Ttc when I went on the pill, and I honestly didn’t know so many people had issues with cycles coming off it, the doctor just said it would regulate my cycles.. not something I overly thought about until we actually decided it was time and me being me I started over thinking and researching which I kind of wish I didn’t now

Oh I see. Well if it's any consolation my periods did go back to normal eventually. Hang on in there! Did the doctor tell you to go back if you don't get another period within a certain time?

@NameChange30 thanks I’m hoping so, I’ve just been trying to do the best I can to keep my body healthy so fingers crossed, yeah not for 6 months :(

6 months probably feels like ages but it will go quickly. And at 27 you have time on your side Smile

My cycles were long after coming off pill, 35-50 days. Tried taking Agnus Castus after 8 months TTC and got BFP that month. May have been a conincidence but I definitely think it worked for me on helping to regulate things!

@NameChange30 I’m glad I didn’t put it off any longer :)

@ RudyRoo Which did you get? I’m just more panicked as I haven’t had any at all yet ⁉️

@PeanutButter19 I got these ones from eBay. Yeah maybe it would be better until you had your first period first and then consider taking them after that. Unfortunately for some people it just takes a long time for things to go back to normal after contraceptive. Just try and distract yourself from thinking about it for now (easier said than done I know!), it'll happen and like another poster said you have time on your hands.

I'm currently taking 4g of Myo-inositol. Have a look at that online ☺️

@RudyRoo how many do you take a day? I was looking at ones in Holland and Barrett and there only 4mg tablets and the other ones are 400mg?? It’s a big difference in quantity

@PeanutButter19 yeah I actually bought the Holland and Barratt ones and returned them for that reason! I was recommended 1x 400 a day and seemed to do the trick Smile

@RudyRoo @PeanutButter19 I've heard the Holland and Barrett ones are very low strength. The ones I had was Best Naturals at 1000mg per tablet but I've just bought powder. One scoop of that is 4g. 4g is what is recommended by fertility doctors for those with PCOS

@RudyRoo @Mycrazylife85 the difference in strengths seems crazy! The Holland and Barrett ones do have a lot of good reviews also and people saying they definitely helped, I just want something to help restart my cycles so I don’t know if stronger is better or if it could delay it longer or if the 4mg will do nothing for me

I have the same as RudyRoo, bought from Amazon. Just take one a day and they have made a big difference to my PMT.

You'll just need to read up on it @PeanutButter19 ☺️ I wouldn't have taken anything without. Search in here too for other people's opinions. I found other threads. Myo-inositol is supposed to be better digested also. Good luck!
