I would really like to think about trying for baby number 2, however I am significantly overweight and worried that it will take me so long to lose the weight that I will be too old to conceive Blush
Has anyone else been significantly overweight (think 4-5stone Blush) and had an easy time conceiving/a healthy pregnancy?
I desperately want to lose the weight and every day is the day I begin my diet and exercise regime, and I’m knackered after being up all night with DD (who is nearly 2 and doesn’t sleep!!!) and i end up snacking away.

I had no trouble. I was overweight when I conceived my daughter ( the doctor's referral letter said " I refer this obese young woman" so I definitely got the picture of what he thought ! )

Second time around I was a bit bigger , and got pregnant when I wanted to. I'm not convinced that being overweight is such a big problem with conceiving - you only have to walk around the shopping centre to see heaps of big girls who are expecting !

Thankyou so much for your message! Good to know you didn’t find it a barrier, I hope the same will be the case for me too.
I was overweight when I got pregnant with DD, but I did quite quickly lose the pregnancy weight (I can only think due to breastfeeding?!) however OH has made it clear he doesn’t want to try until I’ve lost quite a bit of weight and he thinks I will absolutely balloon and not be able to lose it with 2 kids to run around after Blush

You might want to consider the possible dangers to you and your baby.

They're very similar to smoking while pregnant.

Could you lose three stone in nine months and then start ttc?
