Morning all,

I’m not sure if I can post this here, woke up this morning with yet another AF and found myself uncontrollably crying.

I have a nearly 7 year old and trying to conceive baby number 2 just has not been happening, I’ve done it all! No known fertility problems, been taking folic acid, EPO, drinking raspberry leaf tea, pregnacare, seven seas! And every month she comes and every month I’m in bits and more and more convinced it will never happen.

I can’t get rid of the yearning feeling for baby number 2 and it’s heartbreaking every month trying to figure out why. This month my body was so unbelievably cruel, very late period all the symptoms and then boom AF!

Sorry that was all over the place I’m just so upset right now.

Oh OP I'm sorry, i completely know how it feels. I've been ttc nr 2 for 2 years now and just had my 4th miscarriage this week.
This BFP has took 15 months to get though after a ruptured ectopic last year. I also had a failed round of ivf in March so was surprised to get a natural BFP the next month!
I did do some things differently after ivf showed my egg quality wasn't great

  • changed from pregnacare pre conception which taken for years to Proceive Max and 200mg of coq10 daily
  • glass of full fat organic milk daily
  • tried fertility acupuncture
  • higher protein diet
  • husband takes wellman fertility

I know you said you had no known fertility problems but have you had your AMH levels checked and also your partners sperm?
It might be worth getting a bit of a fertility "MOT" done x

Thank you for replying and I’m sorry to hear of all your struggles. Congratulations on your BFP!! It gives me hope.

I have heard about the acupuncture and was considering trying this as an option, I was just so convinced all that I was doing was going to work!

OH has had checks and is all ok, I am going to book again at the DRs to see where I can go from here.

What is the proceive max? I’ll have a look into it, although it seems those kind of routes don’t work for me and it was kind of like a cruel reaction taking the vitamins as I missed April’s period completely and AF came today.

It’s so frustrating as I never thought I would have one child and struggle for another.

Do you have any other tips?

Proceive Max are preconception multivitamins - sachets ones you dissolve in juice - they're usually £49.99 for 30 but at the moment Boots and Holland and Barratt are doing them for £33
They are the only ones I've found with the most "stuff" in them!
Are you also using OPKs - I ovulate anywhere from cycle day 12 to 17 and if I didn't test then I might miss my fertile window completely some months.
There is something called the Sperm Meets Egg Plan which I loosely follow - sex every other day from cycle day 8/9 and then both days when you get a peak on the ovulation test but to be fair we re so knackered with work etc that we usually only have sex maybe 3 times over my fertile period

I was really sceptical about acupuncture but found I do actually enjoy going and felt relaxed afterwards x

Hi OP, I know how you feel. My DS is 4 and I've been ttc #2 for over a year and half with not even a whiff of a positive...until today! I have no idea if it will stick but just seeing a second line after so long has been surreal.
We took a break from ttc last month so we could relax and regroup this cycle...I used Wondfo OPKs for the first time and they picked up my ovulation for the first time too! We dtd only 3 times and just tried to relax.
I take pregnacare conception and for the past few months I've tried to eat as organic as possible. My husband also takes wellman fertility tablets.

I just wanted to say I know how it is and I hope you won't be waiting too much longer ❤️

Thank you for your replies and congrats on the positive ❤️

I was doing all the tracking with the ovulation and I just kept getting nowhere, I think mentally I have given up.

I’m going to try one more time with my GP and see if I can be prescribed Chlomid as I heard it’s very good, although I’m not holding out hope.

I hope I am one day successful.

Thank you for the advice x

No advice really but just wanted to say I understand how you feel. Been TTC#2 for 13 months now with not even a whiff of a BFP. All seems to be made harder with the fact that we were very lucky and didn’t even need to try for #1. I’ve had a couple of late periods which have got my hopes up then for it to all come crashing down again when AF arrives, it’s so hard isn’t it. Really hoping for some success for you and that you won’t be waiting much longer ❤️

How long have you been trying? Sorry this is happening.
Pre-seed and OPKs
Tracking bbt if you can face it.
Good luck x
