Thinking of ttc but realistic about chances. Any positive stories?

If it doesn't happen naturally we will give up after a year but really would like to try

Anyone else done this and been successful?

I conceived naturally at 44. It was 21 years after my previous child was born. It was a surprise but apart from high blood pressure in the last few weeks all was fine. My "surprise " baby is 17 next week and has kept us young ! Good luck OP.

I had my 3rd child at 42 if that counts? A fine strapping healthy little chap he is too.

Best wishes and hope it all works out for you.

I had my DD 2 weeks before my 44th birthday, conceived naturally. My sister had her DS at 42, also conceived naturally. And I know lots of other people who had children conceived naturally in their forties. Good luck!

I've just turned 42. I conceived naturally at 41, first attempt after a laparoscopy. I sadly miscarried however now trying again though it hasn't happened so far.

My friends mom had her 5th at 42. I know a few women at 40. I know one at 42 used a doner egg and husbands sperm and carried the baby.

If you are trying make sure to use ovulation strips to pinpoint ovulation and I would do temping at same time to be extra sure. Plus you and your partners should take vitamins and eat healthy diet etc. Alcohol and too much caffeine for men or women can deplete fertility.

Conceived my nearly 2 year old when I was 41. Great pregnancy, perfect baby. Conceived again (within 1 month of TTC) and sadly had a missed miscarriage at 10 weeks. Took longer to conceive again (best part of a year) but am currently 8 weeks and very close to my 44th birthday. It's nerve-wracking when time is against you but one of the biggest reasons you don't hear much of pregnancy in early to mid 40s is that most women do not want to be pregnant at this age! Your chances are reasonable. But without time to waste if you're serious you need to start taking folic acid, vitamin D and Ubiquinol for egg quality, and spend as much on fertility accupuncture and fertility reflexology as you can afford. Good luck!

Not me, but several friends & relatives successfully chose to start their families in their early to mid 40s. Go for it, you've nothing to lose.

DS1 conceived when I was 40, born when I was 41.
Had an ectopic pregnancy at 42.
DS2 conceived when I was 44, born when I was 45.

So, yes, very possible indeed🙂

I did at 44, but sadly had a MC. New partner, had not used contraception for 3 years due to my fertility issues & was pregnant within 10 weeks of starting new relationship, but lost my baby at 16 weeks.
