I really don’t know what to think.

Hello everyone.

I am currently about 9DPO and CD33 (I got peak OPK’s around CD23) It is very early I know but I was sat at home bored and just thought I might just do a test. I know that there are chances that a BFP can appear that early but it is quite likely to not show up yet. I am also going for a couple of days away with my husband this week and based on the OPK’s I think AF is due on the day we go or the next day, so I think part of me just wanted to see what the likelihood of me needing a load of sanitary towels was going to be for our trip away! I wasn’t going to test too early but I just thought I would!

Anyway, I just took a cheap pregnancy test. I am now playing tricks with myself. I don’t know if my eyes are deceiving me or not, or if I have an evap line (not entirely sure what that means but taking the assumption that it means that the colour ran in the test or something like that) but I thought in certain angles I could see a very faint line. Some angles I see nothing and some angles I see something faint. I did think there was possibly a mark or smudge or something on the test screen, and I am not exactly sure how far away from the control line that the test line should appear, so I really don’t know what to think. I tried taking photos but really don’t know if they do it justice, and I know some people can do that picture change that looks a bit like an X-ray (sorry, I really don’t know what they are called!) but I really don’t know what to think. I haven’t thrown it away yet, and I tested about 45 minutes ago. I showed my husband and he thinks there is a faint line, and has just said test again in a couple of days time (sensible advice and I would do that anyway) or do one of the early tests (FRER), but I haven’t got any of those and the earliest one would get to me would be tomorrow from Amazon.

I am now getting myself anxious and nervous. I suffer with Emetophobia so the thought of being ill is starting to get to me a bit. I am trying not to let it and I think I am a bit calmer now but it is still there. I am going to my parents’ house for tea in about half an hour and want to be calm by then!

Please don’t think that I don’t want to be pregnant, we haven’t long been trying (started trying in February) but I feel that I need a mixture of reassurance, answers and calming down!

If I post some pictures on here would you mind having a look please? If anyone has that x-ray looking thing for photos would you mind trying it out for me please?

Thank you in advance.

I don't think you need to invert those lines, they look fairly clear to me.

Congratulations!

As an aside, I have had 4 babies and have never vomited during pregnancy apart from once with DC2 when I had a migraine. Don't upset yourself unduly!

I can never tell! Last month I could see negatives but today I was uncertain. I can’t always tell faint ones from other people’s photos, so I am not surprised that I can’t tell on my own!

Can I ask what any brand it is?
I got a false positive on a Lloyd’s test last month and mine looked exactly like this! X

If I am honest I can’t remember the brand, it is a cheap one like a Poundland one, I’ll have a look when I get home, but I think it is Accu something off the top of my head. I might be wrong though

It looks like tests I've had from Home Bargains if that helps?

It could well be, I did get some from Home Bargains, B&M and Poundland. I brought a load of cheap ones to keep in the house. I want to say that they were AccuNews but I can’t remember without looking. There were two in a box but I used one last month out of curiosity too! I shouldn’t yet but I want to do another before bed and see what that one comes out as!

I think that's a line. Can you get a Frer from boots or superdrug? I got a BFP at 10dpo - he's now nearly one Smile

I have ordered a Clear Blue 6 days early one from Amazon, which is arriving today. That will mean I won’t be able to try it until tomorrow morning now if you have to use the first urine of the day. I did look at ordering a FRER but couldn’t get that until tomorrow, which would mean Wednesday. I do have Clear Blue Digital and the check one but don’t want to use that until I am late as a confirmation.

Ok, so this morning I took a FRER test (I got my Husband to go out for one) and this was the result. I have a Clear Blue early one arriving today so I may have to do that tomorrow but both me and my Husband can see a faint line. Can anyone else see a faint line or are we imagining it?

I really don’t know what to think.

@BeckyG86 that's a line for sure!! Congrats!!

Thank you! We took another picture of it about an hour later and the line is still faint but more prominent, but at the same time it was a photo taken an hour after the test so it may not be reliable. I am tempted to try a Clear Blue Digital but don’t want to do that too early and then waste the money on it! I do have a Clear Blue early one arriving today (it was ordered before I knew my Husband was going to get an FRER).
Would I be wise calling my doctors tomorrow or wait until AF is due later this week? I am on annual leave this week so it would be better to do this week so I don’t have to take any time off work (I don’t want to tell them until I have seen the doctor/nurse/midwife). I also want to see if they can help with my Emetophobia and prescribe anti-sickness medication to keep as a backup as I will get anxious.

Huge congrats OP – no doubt about that FRER result! x

Thank you. I did take another picture of the test after about an hour, so I am aware of possible evap lines after so long, but it looks more prominent (still faint though). I’ll put the two on. I still have it in the en suite, I don’t want to get rid of it! I am that paranoid I have just got another Clear Blue Digital to do later! I am going to go mad on tests! I want to see it in words now! Thank you!

So, with that doubt earlier, I just took a Clear Blue Digital, and here was the result!
