Hi
I wonder if anyone could give me any insight. I do know no one can provide medical advice but I wonder if anyone has any experience of something similar.

We have male factor infertility due to azoospermia (zero sperm count) we have always been told that it's likely due to a blockage but due to husbands complex medical history we opted not to have an operation to unblock.

Following 18 months of IVF using donor sperm I fell pregnant last year but sadly lost our baby in October 18 at 16 weeks in premature labour due to incompetent cervix. A d&c followed to remove the placenta.

Period returned 6 weeks after.

We then had another cycle of IVF in December 18 which sadly didn't work. Since then periods returned to normal.

Here we are now, no IVF treatment. My period is now 8 days late (mine are usually regular). We due have sex often but I don't monitor ovulation for obvious reasons. My boobs are sore and I have cramps on an off which doesn't result in a period coming. Wednesday last week I had a single spot of blood but nothing since. Have done two internet cheapie tests on Friday but they are negative. (I begrudge buying the expensive ones after years of fertility treatment and BFNs!)

Any insight into this? Could all of the above messed up my cycle a bit? I'm trying not to get hopeful as I'm certain it's not a pregnancy.

Take the test, and then you'll know.

Take it again in a few days if AF hasn't shown up.

If still negative, book a dr's appointment- will be week away or so, .and if she shows up, cancel it.
If not, talk to GP

Sometimes women just have random anovulatory cycles which can then lengthen the luteal phase for that cycle. However in your case I’d probably bite the bullet and shell out for a FRER - although on the other hand those internet cheapie strips are usually pretty sensitive, unless you have a faulty batch. Good luck and I hope you get the result you desire :)
