Tracking ovulation after miscarriage?!

Morning ladies I hope your all well!

I just wanted to start a thread to see whether any of you use period/ovulation tracker apps.

On the 28/03/19 I went through a early miscarriage at 5 weeks, I was devasted. My doctor confirmed it and said it had passed naturally and my hcg levels had dropped confirmed by a negative hpt and that I am ok to try again.

I use the app 'flo' and have inputted the first day of bleeding as cd1 so just wondering whether anyone else uses an app that works for them.
I don't want to get obsessed and start using opk's because I don't want to be heartbroken again but I do want to try and have an idea of when I ovulate to an extent.

Thanks in advance ladies your all amazing!!! Xxx

Sorry for your loss.

Your body may take some time to adjust into a cycle. I never got period for 9.5 weeks after my miscarriage.

I had to use opk as I wanted to be sure I was ovulating rather than use an app to guestimate.

Good luck ❤️

Hi Michelle,

Thanks for the reply I'm sorry for your loss aswell! :( How far along were you if you don't mind me asking?

I was 4 weeks 4 days so really early, did a pregnancy test 6 days later and it was negative which confirmed I had lost it and my hcg levels were back to 0 so I was hoping it wouldn't take me too long to get my cycles back and that I wouldn't have to become obsessed with tracking and it taking over my life if that makes sense!
Xx

I was almost 13 weeks. Found no heartbeat at my scan.

That was in October last year.

Although we've been trying since it's just not happening.

Found out a few days ago I have a b12 deficiency which according to dr google can cause temporary infertility.

I do get what you mean about obsession as it takes over everything xx

So sorry for your loss Flowers I had a early miscarriage/chemical pregnancy in May last year at 5-6 weeks. I bled for about a week and my next ovulation was delayed - I think about 5 weeks after I started bleeding rather than 3 weeks. I used the Ovia app and did use ovulation sticks. It makes it all a bit more pressured but it did work for me - I’m now 39 weeks and look like a planet. I had a similar thing with my son with an early MC and conceived the next cycle. Fingers crossed for you

Sorry for your loss OP. I had a chemical pregnancy in October & I’m still not mentally over it now.

I’m not sure when I ovulated in November (it at all actually), but in December I strangely ovulated on the 8th when I usually ovulate on the 15th! That resulted in an accidental pregnancy & I’m currently 18 weeks. I’m sure my chemical messed up my ovulation dates.

The worst wife - oh my god I love a success story, I am over the moon for you honestly and wish you a healthy happy baby!

I tried the ovia app but it really confused me I think I will stick with Flo haha! I think I will just see what happens this month go by my app and just see what happens! Xx

Hi happytobemrsg I'm so sorry for your loss, it's such a strange feeling a chemical pregnancy getting so excited and then a few days later to find out your not anymore is so overwhelming! :(

Yeah I track my cm which seemed to work last month so hopefully again this month! I only bled for 4 days quite light so I would love my cycles to be back to normal but nothing is ever easy is it haha!

Also massive congratulations Hun!!!!! So exciting! Please send some baby dust my way!! Xx

I had a mc at nearly 6 weeks. My next cycle was 50 days long so I have no idea when I ovulated. Next cycle after was shorter than normal so we definitely missed that month as we were so sexed out by the previous long month that we didn't want to start too soon! It can take a few cycles to get back to normal. I'm still trying over a year later sadly.

Sorry you went through that OP. I had a miscarriage with my first pregnancy. I was fresh off the pill and had had no period before getting pregnant. For me it actually seemed to reset my cycle as I had a period exactly a month after the miscarriage, tracked my temp then and ovulated a couple of weeks later and then was pregnant again (now 2.5yo).
I think maybe temping without peeing on sticks might be a reassuring way to go and give you more info for your app? Without being obsessive as those ovulation sticks can be a nightmare!
You get a great little graph then with a hopefully clear indication of when you probably ovulate. Best of luck

I had a Mc in Jan. My first cycle after that was totally normal but the next one I used opks and definitely ovulated early. I used to have a 14/15 day luteal phase and 31/32 day cycle and last month it was more like 18 days lp but still a 31 day cycle. Hopefully things will be back on track soon. But I’d advise using the opks as it’s so hard to know when you’ll ovulate otherwise. Just another crap part of dealing with a Mc. 😏

It took me 7 weeks to ovulate after my miscarriage in January. I managed to conceive and am now 8 weeks. I just tracked my CM to work out when I ovulated but even fertile CM doesn't necessarily mean you are actually ovulating

Thanks for your replies ladies, it's such a shame were on this thread for sad reasons but success stories and rainbow babies are so lovely to read about.

Every woman just seems to be so different in terms of ovulating and cycles I just really didn't want to get obsessed with opk's that it takes the fun out of the bd'ing and it becomes a chore!!!!
I'm a very big believer in the quote 'everything happens for a reason' an when its right it will happen! Xx

Hi ladies! So sorry for your losses.
I am feeling the same too, I had a miscarriage at 8 weeks on 12/3/19 have done a few odd OPKs just out of curiosity but all negative haven’t done them everyday or held my pee in so don’t know what’s going on! It’s been 3 1/2 weeks and we’ve been trying since the bleeding stopped, not expecting to catch this month as I know my body needs to sort itself out but I can hope and reading success stories is so helpful! I have noticed increased CM over last 4 days so I’m guessing I may have only just ovulated? Trying not to worry about it this month as I know cycles can be all over the place!
