My bbt chart is so weird... any ideas what's going on?

How long is your luteal phase normally? Tbh with that below cover line temp drop late in your cycle I'd expect AF to arrive.

Are you temping with an oral bbt thermometer? The biphasic pattern of your chart isn't very obvious but it is there. Do you normally get a bigger variation in pre and post o temperatures?

Why do you think it's weird? Looks pretty typical to me...

@Kinsters I only started temping last month and half way into that cycle so I only have that to go by. This chart looks different to the last that's why I thought it was strange..
I'm not aware of lengths of any phase as I have irregular cycles. Ranging from 18-64 days in the last 7 months. My last cycle was 37 days.
It's the main reason I started temping, so I could gain a bit more knowledge about my cycle and to see if there was any indication of me ovulating.

I was thinking it could be AF on her way but my symptoms are not what they usually are before AF so thought against it.. only time will tell I'm sure.

Thank you for replying smile
I'm just so clueless with what is and isn't normal when it comes to charting!

If you go on the fertility friend website there's loads of info you can read in the "education" section. It's really helpful for learning about fertility and how to interpret your chart!

Thank you @Kinsters
My temperature has spiked back up again this morning to the highest it's been so its confused me all over again. confused

Charting is great but it's really annoying sometimes. I had really regular cycles, I'd always get AF on the 10th or 11th day after ovulation then last cycle it was the 14th day before AF arrived and my temp dropped plus I was really nauseous, tired etc. No BFP though!

I think basically all you can tell from charts is whether you've ovulated and, if you have, roughly when it happened.

@Kinsters its it's so annoying!
the main reason for me charting was to see if/when I ovulated.. but it's got me wondering about everything else now as well, not just when I ovulate.

EssJayyCee Thu 07-Mar-19 13:25:29

I know you're probably beyond caring about my chart now.. but it's gone up again this morning.
BFN this morning too.

I am just broken.

Kinsters Thu 07-Mar-19 13:35:11

What test did you use? You could just have a slightly longer than average luteal phase. If there's another couple of days of high temps with no BFP or period then I'd be thinking the app was wrong about when you ovulated (although it looks right to me).

Do you temp orally? It might look a little less erratic if you temp vaginally... Same time every day?

Has there ever been the suggestion of pcos? I hate to mention it, because there are loads of other explanations for your chart, but that is one...

But honestly, charts are most useful after the cycle is finished. Until that time, there's a lot of speculation...

EssJayyCee Thu 07-Mar-19 18:06:54

@Kinsters It was only a cheap poundland one so may not be that accurate.
@physicskate Yes I temp orally. last month my chart looked spot on even with me temping orally.
6.30 am every day without fail yes.

I have always thought I may have PCOS but in November I had an ultrasound which showed cysts on my right ovary but blood tests came back normal.

Thank you both for getting back to me.
This months chart has got me more in a flap because I am going on holiday on Sunday and really wanted my AF to come before I went! Now I'm going to be worrying that I might come on at any point over my holiday!
