@notmy - is this your first? Odds are significantly better if you've been pregnant before.

daisygoodwillflett Wed 27-Feb-19 14:29:41

Yes, the first month after the IUD came out.

I was a bit startled. She is 2.5 years old and simply wonderful.

I conceived my second at 42 and had him aged 43.

Not me, but I have four friends who've had babies in their 40s - their ages at conception were 42, two at 44 and 47!

So it's not impossible!

Hadalifeonce Wed 27-Feb-19 14:33:44

1st at 42, 2nd at 45. So there is still every chance.

Marigold76 Wed 27-Feb-19 14:36:15

Yep. No.4. I'm 19 weeks.

35, 36,39 and 42. I believe it's easier if it's not your first after 40? That might just be an old wives tale though, but this one was a bit of a surprise!

AmICrazyorWhat2 Wed 27-Feb-19 14:42:33

Should clarify that all four babies were happy surprises, no fertility treatment.

I'm 41 and bump is due in four weeks. Natural conception after being told by doctors that it would never happen for me

Karigan195 Wed 27-Feb-19 15:00:22

I’ll be 42 soon and am 14 weeks pregnant.

Karigan195 Wed 27-Feb-19 15:00:42

Oh totally natura too lol

Moomintroll3 Wed 27-Feb-19 15:02:13

My sister had twins at 43 but she did have IVF.

notmy Wed 27-Feb-19 18:37:40

I have one dc already who is 6

onalongsabbatical Wed 27-Feb-19 18:43:32

Well my mum did and I was the result and that was 64 years ago so no IVF or nowt like that!

nogooddeedgoesunpunished Wed 27-Feb-19 18:46:34

Yes, complete shock no fertility treatment conceived at 45. First and only !

CoffeeRunner Wed 27-Feb-19 18:49:35

I am 43 & three of my same aged friends have had babies in the past 12 months.

I believe it’s less likely but certainly not impossible!

je4852 Wed 27-Feb-19 19:00:21

Yes, I had my second at 43. A bit of a surprise, but pregnancy was smooth and uneventful, although I was a bit more tired than with my first.

cloudjumper Wed 27-Feb-19 19:32:05

I had DD at 44 and know lots of women who had their children at 42 and older. Definitely possible

cathyyy83 Wed 27-Feb-19 21:05:21

wow this gives me hope, I'm 37 and panicking smile

Aprilshowersarecomingsoon Wed 27-Feb-19 21:10:23

I got a bfp the third cycle of ttc at 42!! Not first dc though, a six year gap.
Not so lucky trying again at 44. Sadly 3 chemicals and a mmc at 8 weeks.
Get cracking op!

My mum had her last baby at 43.

PastaSauceHoarder Fri 01-Mar-19 19:47:15

My mum had my little sister (a surprise baby) at 39 and then went on to have my little brother at 42. Two perfectly healthy and happy children! smile

CharlesChickens Fri 01-Mar-19 19:48:28

Yes, literally the first time we started trying for a second. I was 43 when she was born. So don’t panic. Have some accupuncture.
