TTC with health anxiety anyone? Looking for support and buddies!

I am really struggling with health anxiety at the moment, so much so that I am convinced it's not health anxiety and instead something really sinister, not helped by the fact I do have a current issue that a specialist thinks is anxiety. Vicious cycle, oh what fun.

My question is how did you cope with TTC and health anxiety? After a loss at 20 weeks where I had to have a TFMR, we've been TTC but not had much luck so far. Since my anxiety got bad I'm now convinced I do have something terrible like a brain tumour, and I won't find out until I am pregnant and then a similar outcome will happen, or I will have a baby and then find out I'm terribly sick.

It's starting to completely ruin my life. I'm going to therapy at the moment which does help, and I know it will be a process, but I still feel exhausted and broken by it. Like I'm just waiting for the bad thing to happen.

Was/is anyone in the same boat?

Have you seen anyone about this anxiety

I wouldn't be ttc without trying to address it first. Counselling? Meds?

Yes I’m in counselling at the moment and have seen the doctors, got a follow up on Friday.
Unfortunately because we had complications last time and they don’t know why/whether it’s likely to happen again, and due to my age I don’t want to leave it too long. I don’t have any children yet and it’s something I really want

Guess it’s just me!
I am getting help for the anxiety hopefully that will make a difference

I suffer from health anxiety as well, it’s awful. I’m sorry you are going through this. It sounds positive that you are getting counselling for it. I found when I was TTC (I’ve had 3 mcs) that I was actually distracted by it so it took my mind off my usual worries. We are due to start TTC again soon and i’ve Been feeling run down since my last mc over 5 months ago that it is started me worrying that there is something seriously wrong. In all honesty though it’s just I’ve had a bit of a shitty year and there are so many bugs continually going around but my mind doesn’t allow me to be rational all the time.

Take time out for yourself and please don’t put too much pressure on yourself. Is your partner supportive? Do you have anyone else you can talk to about your worries.

Yes I have health anxiety- it’s under control at the min but I do panic that it will return with vengeance if I do get my bfp and that scares me but I want this-
I know it’s bad but I did terminate before because of health anxiety and I massively regret it.
Getting help is good though hunni xx

Thank you both, it really is horrible. I’m half convinced I have a brain tumour at the moment because of the vision issue even though I’ve seen an eye doctor, I can’t get my head around the fact that it could be anxiety!

@lammoshay you do what you can to get through it, I think, I hope you’re not hard on yourself about that. I’m glad to hear you’ve got it under control, how did you do it?

@k0013 my dh is brilliant and so patient with me but you know what HA is like it puts you firmly in your own head. Sorry to hear about the mcs that’s awful - I had a Mmc before the tfmr and it’s really tough. Look after yourself

Good luck to you both I hope you get your bfps soon

Hi lovely
I just take each day as it comes- I have stopped googling as that’s the worst thing to do.
I also upped my medication to a better dose and have therapy x

Hey! I’m sorry I don’t suffer from heath anxiety, so I can’t relate to that but I do suffer from social and some other forms of anxiety itself and I hope things work out for you ❤️ And that you’re getting all the support you need x

Thank you both!
I find t so much harder when I have an actual physical issue - even when I’m told it’s most likely the anxiety causing it
