Yeah cleo apparently they start to shrivel up and look like a walnut! I was pleased to hear I don't have walnuts GrinGrin

The things you learn! I hope my ovaries aren't shrivelled yet too😩

No chance of BFP this month as DH was away at the crucial time but I am hoping AF will come on time so I can work out when I'm likely to need him around next!

Great news sparrow and hope all goes well

Critter hope you feel better soon

Oh God @weasledee. I don't like the sound of that! Nobody has ever mentioned that when I've had scans so I'm hoping mine are OK. What a horrible thought.

@cleozeta - like you it was all after ovulation - according to Ava 2 dpo but, again like you, I had a positive opk and started to see a temperature rise about 3 days before ava told me I ovulated. Can't make any sense of it. And I'm hating not understanding my body. The FSH test has knocked me for 6 and I'm not sleeping, tired and really bad tempered. I'm not handling this growing old lark very well at all....

@Orchid222 , thank you for the new thread. Are you ok?!

Ladies, I can't decide what to do next. In your opinion, if to start IVF again, and hoping there are a couple of surviving embryos, to freeze them all to use later or transfer 1 and freeze the rest. Or if there's only 1 embryo, to freeze or use it fresh. I'll be 43 in April and just can't see myself doing this forever! And just don't know what to decide next. All I know that we want a sibling for our DD. And wanted it yesterday, as it were. Your thoughts would be appreciated. Just feeling a bit lost. Thank you!
Ps I put the above to my clinic and yet to hear from them.
@Rose68 , sorry about BFN

Report
Karigan195 · 10/01/2019 09:09

I think it does not hurt to go and discuss options with them. Quite often when people book for ivf etc they relax and it happens naturally.

Report
Cleozeta · 10/01/2019 09:39

Rose - hate the bfn's! So frustrating.

Russkispy - I'd probably use one now and freeze any extras? Hopefully your clinic will have some good advice

Weasle - urgh! Shrivelled walnut overies?! They didn't mention walnuts when I had my overy scan last month so hopefuly that means they are ok!

Taxgirl - so frustrating isn't it! I'm not ageing well either. It's gone down like a lead balloon. I'm just not ready for this. If I were nearing 50 and completed my family, I'd take it on the chin. But I'm not. All this crap started for me at 39, and I'd really like another baby! I'm too young for everything to be falling apart and shrivelling up.
It's weird how its gone odd for both of us post ov this cycle. My wobbles and drama's are usually before ov. After is usually pretty straight forward. Can't believe thats falling apart now too. Gutted! Going back to the clinic on 31st Jan for results of all the tests. (AMH etc) Bricking it.

Rose68 · 10/01/2019 10:32

@Russkispy why would you freeze all the embryos to transfer later? I think I would transfer 2 embryos if I had 2. My view is the more they transfer the greater chance there is of one taking. But the clinic are best placed to advise on this I think.

@Taxgirl1 I’m not surprised the FSH test has knocked you for 6, but I would still question it and ask for another next cycle if I were you. I thought the best day to have it done was day 2, and whilst day 4 isn’t that far off I do think it will make a difference. Cleo had a high FSH on day 5 I think? And had it done recently on an earlier day and got a much lower FSH. Cleo please correct me if I’m wrong.

CritterTamer · 10/01/2019 10:44

@Russkispy - I'm assuming you've read the data that says success rates with FETs are slightly higher than fresh cycles? I had also heard this so asked my clinic a similar question before our second round, i. e. Is it better to freeze all and then wait a cycle for hormones to normalise before doing FET? Their response was that in their opinion the risk of embryos not surviving the freeze and thaw process was not worth the potential tiny increase in success chances unless you had loads of good quality embryos produced, and let's face it, at our age we don't create that many! They advised to fresh transfer 2 best quality embryos immediately and freeze anything remaining. This time we had the two best (5AAs) put back and have a 4AA and a 4AB frozen. The other 5 embryos still going at day 6 were not good enough quality to freeze and would not have survived the freezing process.

Hopecthis helps answer your question 😊

Rose - yes you are right. Mine was 18.4 in January on cd5 and 10.4 in Nov on cd2. I don't know if the difference was related to the cycle day, or the TCM or just random. But it cheered me up

Checking in. Thanks Orchid (again!) for the new thread, hope you're ok x

I'm too getting strange pains (only v light ones) since I think I ovulated on CD5/6. Had loads of very clear, stretchy mucus which seems like EWCM but not exactly the same since!! Aaahhhhhh, it's so confusing and annoying isn't it. DTD yesterday in case but i'm not hopeful. Just hoping that getting back to the TCM after the Xmas holidays is going to balance things up again.

Weasle - glad you're ok. I can understand all your feelings, i really can.

hello lovelies,

I am 43 ttc #2. Had uncountable mcs before #1. At first, no. 2 was a never again thing but LO is 2.5 years old now and we are starting to feel she needs a sibling, even though scared to death to go through everything again. It was natural pregnancy but so much of anxiety throughout!
To prep myself, from yesterday, I am on Ubiquinol, Pregnacare and folate (active form 1000mg) and about to take 4th weekly dose of vitamin D capsules 25000 as I was low in vitamin D. Anyone has any other suggestions as to how to prepare myself well again this time? This time I am at a super stressful job so really really want to optimise all my chances. Thank you all and wishing everyone the best xx

Ps: my husband is on pile of medications for his heart condition. This was not the case during first time round. Does it make the matter worst? Should he be on any supplements too? Thanks

@Ellie2015 welcome 😊 a fertility consultant strongly recommended the Wellman conception tablets for DH - I think zinc is the most important nutrient for male fertility.

Mimosa - how interesting that you are having the pains and cm too. Cd5 is very early to ovulate, are you sure it wasn't just an attempt and its trying again now? Do you temp? Have you done anymore opk's?
My cramps only lasted 2 days, cd3&4. Very odd!
I've just had my accupuncture session, looking forward to the yummy tea when I get home.

Welcome ellie & good luck to you. For suppliments, I take a whole shedload but I've no idea what works and what doesn't.
As for the men, my DH is also on wellman conception and vit c with zinc
