Good job, Floss. Thanks for your kind words on the other thread (and for the chocolate). So, if any one has any ideas as to how I can stop obsessing please let me know. I feel it is all I think about and the cycle of hope and disappointment is taking its toll!

I think the brief holiday will do me good. I promise to come back in a more positive frame of mind.

I would also love to know if anyone has been told anything about taking a break from clomid?? I read somewhere that you are to take a break after 3 cycles- I think that was in Zita Wests book... I'm weighing up my options of whether to keep at it or take a month off to see how my body responds. Any advice/ thoughts... anyone?

Have you tried acupuncture? I have PCOS, had 6 goes with Clomid without success, including two goes of IUI. Had a break, went to acupuncture for 3 months and became pregnant. I now have a lovely, 9 week old boy.

Have no idea about taking a break. Don't believe it would be a bad thing, though, if it gives you a chance to rest and recover. A positive approach seems to be a necessity with this sort of thing. Am feeling fed up about it myself...so mad about trying for so long then miscarrying a week after I found out. Life seems so unfair.

Thinking of you Lulu. Hope the break helps.

Thanks, everyone. CAela- actually, I am booked in for my first acupuncture appointment in mid-July. I thought it might help. Congrats on your lovely boy.

Floss- I hear you. I am so frustrated. I just can't believe I got pregnant so easily last time only to lose the baby. I can understand how you feel. It so horrible to be trying for so long, to get pregnant and for it not to work. I am really sorry and hope you are feeling a bit stronger. I still feel devastated about the miscarriage.

Anyway, I'm off tomorrow and have decided to take a break from the clomid. Hope you all have a good few weeks!

Hi everybody
Cd10 here 1st clomid cycle, just done a digital opk and no smiley face. It sounds riduculous but i'm just as gutted as when i get a bfn, i've even thought to myself 'knew it wouldn't work, sod the whole thing'

Its the 1st test out the box fgs, but i've gone from feeling positive, to thinking its never gonna hapen again, all based on the result of one opk!!!

Trouble is starting on clomid gives you the same fresh optimism you had when you first started ttc before you realise there's a problem. But that optimism can be easily shattered and your back to the despair of 'it'll never happen' with alarming speed.

Sorry for the rant and the philosophy!!!, hope your all ok xxx

1wish.. I was totally devastated after the 1st cycle of clomid not working, just had this vision of a magic pill and plus added to the fact turned into some crazy psycho women not a good combination ! was like that for first two cycles, the third and this one am fine..thank god!!!

Am now on cycle 4 day 14 and to be honest haven't done the opk thing this month or temped properly...dh not been around since monday - back today so hopeful can get some bd in today/tomorrow otherwise probably a wasted cycle...

so I know how you feel....i too am fed up with it all daren't take a break though as might go back to pshyco girl again?!

Can i ask how much your on minxi, it hasn't turned me psyhco, I actually really like the affect its having on me so far, its made me feel much more confident and brave (live in a dodgy area) whereas i didn't dare leave the house before .

Plus much less snappy and weepy, I guess its balancing my hormones. I really hope it doesn't change later on in the cycle or as my dose increases. I'm on it for a year so it better stay this way!!

Hi, I just wanted to drop in and offer good luck wishes. My DS is now 8 months old after 2 years of ttc with one mc then a cycle of clomid. It turned me into the psycho woman from hell. Never did understand why they gave you tablets to help you conceive which made you so horrid no one wanted to have sex with you...

Anyway, we are now ttc no 2 and if we have no success by Christmas, we shall go back for more Clomid.

I hope you all get the beautiful babies you long for.

Hi everyone, this threads very quite, hope its not me
Just wanted to ask your opinion, im cd14, been looking for signs etc. And all i've noticed is my boobs (especially left one) seem really sore all of a sudden.

Has anyone had this just before ovulation on clomid? No ew cm so i've been saving my opks for a couple of days.

Any symtoms you had before ov on clomid would be very helpful

Hope everyone is ok
Thankyou x

Hi guys ((hugs Flosspot)) how are you?

Hi lulu - how are things going? xx

1wish - re the OPK's my consultant told me to keep away from OPKs, charting etc as with PCOS is not helpful. Through the OPK's away. I found that my CM was a clearer indicator if that helps at all, although wasnt CM watching. DP and I bd'd most days and sometimes every other.

Everything ok here. Am 14+3, uploaded my scan pics from last week. Nuchal Test etc came back with very good results too

Hello ladies,

I wasn't a mumsnetter when i pregnant, but just wanted to post a success story. I have PCOS, was prescribed Clomid, hated it, but conceived after 2 cycles. DD is now thriving.

I wish you all luck and look forward to reading your success stories soon .

Patmustard- thanks for giving hope and spreading the love.

Awen- great pics. Rub your tummy for me- if you have a word with bean, maybe she could send some luck my way?! Thanks for hugs.

No idea about CD, but coming up for four weeks since mc. Had lots of ewcm so booked DH in, BD ONCE, then he got mad busy at work and haven't seen him since, so have probably missed the window. Bugger.

Roll on next month....

Very funny story about legs in the air Awen...were staying with outlaws over Christmas and she was driving me nuts. Kept hoovering our room at 9am before we were vene up, so the next time I heard the hoover, I swivelled around on thebed and rested my legs against the wall up in the air. She barged in, took one look and legged it. I felt victorious all day!!!!
