Hello all of you lovely mumsnet peeps! So I have literally just created an account right now.

Just stopped my mini pill. Have a 15 month old son, excited and nervous to try for baby 2! Baby one came after first period from stopping pill which i know was very fortunate but its given my high expectations for this time...which is not a good thing as chances are wont happen that way twice. Trying to be realistic and casual about it. Hmm

Anyone else trying for second... or first?

Hello ladies, now that its November I'm so nervous and ecstatic to say that we are officially trying for our second child! 🎉

I already have a wonderful 16 month old daughter, but she came as a lovely surprise so we've never actually tried to get pregnant before. I've been planning this for months though! Been tracking my cycle after getting my coil removed in July (all regular and totally predictable I'm relieved to say!) and my order of preseed lubricant arrived this morning. Unfortunately my fertile window doesn't start until the 23rd so just a bit more waiting for me!

I truly hope this is a lucky month!

Oooh @pinkflower thats so exciting! Smile I hope your period doesnt come! Are you going to test now or wait a few more days?

@pastaSauceHoarder you are so organised!! On hindsight, I probably should of been more prepared. I bf ds so no periods then onto minipill where I would usually have a regular "fake period" but nothing, just the odd breakthrough, so haven't actually had a period since the one before he was concieved! So im worried it wont be so simple this time.

I am also nervous on top of excited thinking am I crazy... could i cope with 2! Grin and feeling a bit like ds1 is still so young and will he be neglected. Too many emotions for a Monday!!

@Scarletrose18 Yes I get that completely!! I feel so desperate for another baby but at the same time I look at my lovely toddler and feel guilty that I want to turn her whole world upside down. But then I feel like giving her a little sibling to grow up with would be the ultimate gift in the long run! You're right, too many emotions!

I think it not happening quickly is my biggest worry too. But then if we worry it adds stress, and if we stress it doesn't help anything!
Have you used any sort of tracking or are you going to just regularly DTD and see what happens?

Scarletrose18 · 05/11/2018 18:30

Glad im not the only one feeling that way @PastaSauceHoarder Yes your right its a gift were giving them, they will be so happy when youngest is 1 or so and they can play together... I need to think more that way.

I am waiting for my period to arrive so that I will know things are back to normal and so be ov 2 weeks later but in the meantime I have bought some cheap opk's, so Im just going to take one each day until them and see if im ovulating and dtd also just incase I ovulate before first period lol. Making sure every angle is covered. Grin

Are you working or sahm? x

@Scarletrose18

I tested a few hours ago and got a negative but don't know if that's because it was midday or too early on.
I'll have to wait and see but PMS is through the roof and making me cry inside for my period to start so the feeling goes away.

Oh @pinkflower22, sorry to hear you're feeling so rough! Test tomorrow with your first morning wee if you can, hopefully you get that BFP soon!

Sounds like a plan, @Scarletrose18! Which OPKs did you buy? Its horrible waiting for you body to regulate again, I was the same as you and breastfed my toddler as well as having the coil fitted so I didn't have a period since before falling pregnant with her! It was about two years altogether, and thankfully everything has returned to normal. Better even because I was on the pill before I got pregnant the first time so even that was all over the place!

I wish I was a SAHM, but unfortunately not. ☹ Though I only work three hours a day Monday to Friday so I really shouldn't complain. What about yourself? Smile

Aww sorry @pinkflower22 yes test again in AM, but if AF does come, keep busy with your planning for next ov (easier said than done I know) xo

@PastaSauceHoarder same, just part time mon to fri, cant wait to be off again. Feel like i belong at home with dc!

How long after coil before your AF returned and did it go regular straight away?
Gives me hope that yours are regular after none for so long. Just thinking, are the 3 of us mad trying for summer babies. Do you remember pregnancy last summer! Blush
Shock So hot lol x

Does testing with morning wee really make much of a difference?

Report
PastaSauceHoarder · 06/11/2018 00:12

@Scarletrose18 Okay so if I remember correctly I had my coil taken out on the 4th July and had a little bleed for a weekish, then I had a proper period on the 10th August which was way longer and heavier than usual. After that one they've all been normal and on time since though! And I've figured out I ovulate on CD17&18 each time without fail which is really good to know.

Oh god ahah, I don't know, are we?! Wink My daughter was born early June last year, JUST before it went really hot so I don't have much experience of pregnancy in the heat!!
I think you said your son was only a month younger than my daughter so I imagine you felt it though!

PastaSauceHoarder · 06/11/2018 00:16

They reckon so, @pinkflower22! More hCG is present in the first morning wee so its more sensitive to pregnany tests and should give you a better accurate result.

Hello! I'm trying for a second, and I just had a period 2 weeks ago and now I'm having another period, I have tender breasts, I'm tired and frequent urination, what do you think that is?

Scarletrose18 · 06/11/2018 08:52

@PastaSauceHoarder about your opk ques, I ordered cheap 50pk strips from amazon and using home bargins ones until they arrive. What did you use?

He was born at the beginning of August so has just turned 15 months. Yes I have fond memories of the pregnancy glow along with lots of sweaty days and swollen feet Grin

Thats great to have all your dates so you know your exact ov day. Is your oh as excited to have another? Mine kind of is but is also nervous about coping with 2. He was like this with dc1 as well though, then when he was born he was over the moon.

@pinkflower22 keep in touch with how you get on today.

@mizzladytee213 hi, im not sure, sorry. If iys not a light bleed and its def your period that has started then could be symptoms of that.

Yeah I've probably got the same ones @Scarletrose18, just some cheapies from Amazon - they seem to be reliable though!

Oh poor you, I bet that was so uncomfortable!! The things we go through for our little ones, eh?

Yes my husband is really excited, much to my relief. It was his rule to wait until November, whereas I've wanted to try for another since my little girl turned one! I always was a bit worried that he'd change his mind though, but thankfully not, and fully indulges my crazy TTC obsession. Grin

@mizzladytee213 How light is the bleed? Could it possibly be an ovulation bleed if its only two weeks after your period?

@pinkflower22 How are you today? Smile

@PastaSauceHoarder @Scarletrose18
Hii guys how are you doing today? Weather is so dull outside and I'm still in bed.
I tested again a few minutes ago using first wee of the day and it was an instant negative. Maybe it's just too early for me - although my period was due yesterday.
Another thing that's happened to me that I've realised that the smell of semen makes me nauseous (sorry if tmi) that's why keep
Thinking I might be pg.

@pinkflower22 Im ok, its dull and pouring down here today as well. Just on my break in work, would rather be at home having a PJ day and a big mug of tea! Smile

I dont know, you never know maybe it is too early and you will get a bfp yet. How long is your cycle? Just thinking if you do get AF, shouldnt be too long until you OV and can try again. How do u feel now? x

Ahhh I seee, hope your day goes well for you.

Erm I'm on cycle day 27 now, but normally get my period on day 26 so it might just be late. If it's late I'll try again next month x

What stage are you at in your cycle atm ?

Sorry I mean if af arrives I will just try again in a couple of days time. But each day feels really long

@pinkflower22 I know, its so hard to try not to think about it and the more u try not to, the more you do! Really hope things change for you this cycle. Thats a short cycle, less waiting time so thats good Smile Im still waiting on AF since stopping pill but making sure to DTD anyway just incase i ov before AF arrives lol. My cycle previously was always 28 days and always super regular

@PastaSauceHoarder Glad your hubby on board, and excited. I try not to tell my hubby too much about all of the ttc details and obsessions because he already thinks im a bit nuts... which I kind of am Grin

Its just got even more dull outside, going for a wee coffee and a bun to brighten my day up. What are u two up to this afternoon. Not sure how worldwide this app is but what country are u both from?

@Scarletrose18

I'm from the U.K., you?
Keep forgetting you're still at work. As I'm at home today being a uni student seem strange that other people have long days at work 😂
Ohhh I see, well hopefully you conceive on this cycle. How long have you been on the pill? Are you not checking ovulation by using a test?
I think I'm going to do that next cycle but I'm not sure when to start testing at all. Is it when I see ewcm or before that?
Also, bad news I think for me, wiped while using the loo and saw some light pink so think my period is on the way 😕

Hi Scarlet, I’m trying for a second dc. Came off my pill one month ago and haven’t had my period, it’s due today. Have a 20 month old toddler. Had created a thread this morning with a pregnancy test that I wasn’t sure whether was positive or a really convincing evap line, consensus was positive but after a second test (clear blue digital) it was negative Sad. Still haven’t gotten my period so there is still hope though. However it’s looking like I’ll be trying this month and keeping my fingers crossed. Hope it’s okay I join Smile

Hey !! I'm trying too ! Testing on Sunday / Monday when I'll be 11/12dpo ...feeling very much like my period is about to start but that means it will be a week early but also very sore breasts and ground pain. Feeling hopeful but I know these things can take time. I'm trying for number 3!! Xx

Sorry to hear that @pinkflower22, has it gotten any heavier since? If this isn't your month then I hope the next one is luckier. Flowers

I'm also in the UK! Had a little wander round the shops early afternoon with my little one and bought her an advent calendar that I had my eye on for a while - found it for half price so that was my bargain of the week. Smile Then I had to go to work at three. Your afternoon sounded relaxing, @Scarletrose18! I love a nice bun! Grin

Ooh what are you studying, @pinkflower22? If thats not too outing of course!

Also welcome @Cocobana and @mum22soon23! Its nice to see this group expanding! Smile
