Nearly 4 months with no period, I have heightened sense of smell, nausea, sickness, sore nipples, strange taste in my mouth.

Every fucking day I'm getting negative tests. Every fucking day AF is nowhere to be seen. I've been to my GP twice and they are not helping me. I'm going mad.

I have peed on 4 sticks this morning. Why? How do I stop this? I know TTC takes time but I went from being regular to being non existent and it's making me lose the plot with constant, excessive testing.

I've read on lots of forums that after months without periods they precribe provera? Force it all out? I have asked my GP and again they will not help me. I can buy it online from a pharmacy thing but is it dangerous? I just need to sort this out

I'm entirely convinced I'm infertile and I have no logic behind that fear but it doesn't stop it from haunting me and making me anxious 24/7. I'm not always this insane but it's been a rough morning and I'm at my wits end with it all

Hi, I'm sorry you're going through this. Can you see another gp and ask for a second opinion? Xx

Stress can also effect your cycle, see your doctor.

Yes you need a different doctor.

A while back the cycle of my periods shortened and I queried it with the doctor. She said that shortening was nothing to worry about, but that if they lengthen that they investigate as standard, especially for those who are TTC.

Doctors will all be different with different rules depending on your postcode, but I don't feel the response you've been given is good enough.

I know you have been in the AIBU thread and had some mean comments, so came over here to post to you instead.

TTC is such a hard journey and the wait and hope is draining.

My first and best advice is to stop testing. I know it is hard (I was hooked a few years ago when we were in the early days too) but it is not going to help.

I hate being told to relax or not stress as if you are ttc you will be. However, testing multiple times a day will not help. It will not change the test result and it will stress you out and is not good for your health.

Put the tests away or at least cut down how much you are using them. The symptoms will not help either - I have had every single one and still no BFP - I think it is just your body's way of being cruel.

Your GP is not sounding helpful, so a private consult may be the way to go. You can order private blood tests if you have the spare money and you can have private scans too (I used ultrasound direct for my last one) - they cost about £100 but if it will put your mind at rest then it may be worth it.

You have two months before the GP may do anything to help, so you need to spend that time getting yourself into the best condition for ttc.

Look at getting a BBT thermometer instead of the sticks - it is cheaper and you take your temperature once a day and chart it (fertility friends app is good and free). It will look for patterns.

I am not sure about provera, but I know there are medications that can be used to trigger a bleed as they use ones in IVF or women who have not had one for a long time. Some pharmacies do online consultations (the same tablets used for period delay are sometimes used to trigger by resetting) and you can have a look at one. The pharmacy asks questions and it is reviewed by a doctor, so as long as you are honest and use a reputable one they can look at something for you.

There are lots of us going through the horror of this so just know that you are not alone x

How long have you had this issue with your period for?

Just since TTC?

Have you recently come off a form of contraception?

It can take months for contraception to get out of your system and every woman is different.

There's plenty in here who know exactly how stressful it can be Sad but you need to stop testing repeatedly as it's only adding to your stress.

I definitely think you should book in for a private scan to see what's going on. You'll have the answer pretty soon then
