Hello! I'm new to ttc and Just looking for some advice! Got these cheap ovulation test sticks from Wilkinson's and have tested every day since Sunday. Most of the tests have looked like the pic attached. I felt ovulation pains yesterday and the usual CM. Would you say I've missed my window or does this look like it's soon to come? Worked it out my ovulation window would've been between Sunday and Thursday ish! Thanks for any help given in advance!

Were you testing once or twice a day? And at what time?

Sometimes LH surges are very short so can be missed, especially if only testing once a day. But that line is very faint so I think it's more likely you've still to ovulate.

@8DaysAWeek ah ok that's very interesting, thank you! I tested once a day apart from today which was twice. Usually test between 10:30-14:00!

Ive got some of these and think that's negative the first line needs to be stronger than the one further right if that makes sense, stronger or as strong as...I'm testing everyday like you and should be ovulating soon also...good luck

That’s not a positive yet. The second line has to be as dark or darker than control line. Keep testing you should see it darken soon. I line mine up on side to see progression to help. Attached is a pic to see progression if that helps?!

That's still negative or you may have missed your surge.

I only had my first positive last cycle after stopping the pill in jan. I only knew as I had a lot of EWCM so decided to test and luckily I caught it in time. I took the first one in the pic in the afternoon then the second just before I went to bed that night. The third was first thing in the morning. I took another at night when I got home from work and it went back to very negative. I counted the strongest one as a positive.

I would keep testing each day as I read that you can have EWCM up to 5 days before you ovulate or in some cases only have it on ovulation day.

I've been testing the past few days and all pretty negative but this morning I got a bit or CM so hoping it will happen soon!

@Rmad6716 thank you that's really helpful! Never knew that about EWCM 5 days before! I definitely agree, I never knew ovulation tests were a thing until now! I always thought it would be so easy lol! X

Have you heard of the SMEP (Sperm Meets Egg Plan)? If not, I'd look it up. My fiance and I used this and got pregnant first month. It's not a guarantee but I believe that it gives you the best chance each month. Good luck with your TTC journey!!

I was using the cheapo ones from wilko's and struggled to get a positive test result, I switched to the one step from Amazon and I got better results.

Hi sorry to jump in .... a few people have mentioned this SMEP . This might be a stupid question but what is it ?? I am coming near the end of my injection this month and ttc after do you think this would help I've only had to shots of depo so fingers crossed it doesn't take to long

I did SMEP when I conceived my first (mmc) in 2013. Was lucky enough to fall pregnant with my second accidentally so haven't used it since.

But from what I can remember you test for ovulation from day 8 (I think) and have sex every other day then when you get a positive you have sex for 3 consecutive days then take a break for one day and then sex again.

@cookielove those are the OT I've just ordered from amazon along with pregnancy tests . New to this so here is the stupid question..... do you just pee on the OT twice a day everyday ?? I have no clue hahahahaha!!! Xxxxxx

I usually start testing around day 10, and twice a day (am) and around 4 - 6pm depending on my shift! I also dip and test!
