Testing at 9dpo/ 10dpo

Is testing at 9/10 dpo really too early? This is the stage i am at, tested twice...both bfns, once today once yesterday.

I remember with dd i was at least 4 days before af when i got my bfp so i am feeling pretty much out..when i had high hopes this month.

Countdown to pregnancy site says 47% bfp by 9dpo and 66% by 10dpo.

Im feeling some symptoms but duno if im over spotting. Had tiny tinge of brown discharge today when i wiped, af due in four days.

It’s so hard isn’t it. I tested this morning at 8dpo, I know I shouldn’t but all rational thought goes out the window. With my son I didn’t test til a week late because I was abroad without my partner. I don’t know how I resisted!

Hi! Loads of people test early.... the frer is literally made for people like us! I got my bfp in January at 8dpo if that’s helps x

I’m 10dpo today and did a test. It was unsurprisingly a bfn which is disappointing but still time.

Fingers crossed for you. Please keep us posted; it’s very rare to actually hear the outcomes from these threads. 🤞

It probably is too early. You won’t get a BFP until a few days after implantation, which can happen between 6-12 dpo.

It could be that you haven’t implanted yet, or it hasn’t been long enough for your hcg levels to meet the test minumums.

Fingers crossed though :) x

Just a quick update...im getting more brown discharge this morning when i wipe - sorry tmi. I am also getting some light cramps and feel really light headed.

Defo feel like this is the start of af...few days earlier than expected. (Due on tues)

I have no pregnancy tests left so took an opk which was all i had lying around and there wasnt even a hint of a line on that which should still detect the hormones.

I feel so utterly down today. Im just fed up and disappointed 😢😢

Hi all,

I've not been around as I thought it would help take my mind off the TWW... it didn't work! Congratulations to those with BFPs and hugs to those who've had an unwelcome visitor.

AF is due on Tuesday according to Natural Cycles, so I'll mainly be spending the weekend over-analysing my temperature graph, scrutinising my cervix and avoiding any shops that sell pregnancy tests! The plan is currently to test on Wednesday if AF hasn't shown up.

@lookingforadvice15 sorry about af. Good luck everyone. Bfn on my Clearblue advanced fertility monitor this morning but only 9dpo so still holding onto hope.

I don’t want to give false hope but it really isn’t over until AF arrives.

Perhaps this could be implantation bleeding although I know not everyone gets that.

I try to think about it like this: I would rather wait another month and have a successful pregnancy than my body get pregnant but not carry full term. Hopefully when our bodies are ready, the positive will come.

It may not help but we have to be positive for each other.

Fingers still crossed. 🤞

Also, I had some light bleeding a few days before that, so it's not over til AF. Good luck xx

@glera thank you for such a nice post. I feel so emotional today, hormones flying everywhere no doubt. I have been off the pill since Dec but didnt think i would be taking it this hard each month 😢

Thanks @nellythepink....i was hoping upon hope thinking maybe it could be, but then when i took the opk this morning and it was more or less blank i thought well if i was surely the opk would be even be showing darker.

I will probs still buy another test later today...just cause im an idiot 😂

Also i feel like i have had more symptoms this month than any other month...
Sicky feeling
Light headed
Heartburn etc
All other months the only thing ive had is cramping for a full week before af.
This month i have only had slight cramping today, and it is very light.

I duno....its my mums birthday tomorrow and shes so supportive. Would have loved to have given her a positive test as a present, would have made her day...but oh well

My EDD would have been Xmas day so i suppose ive dodged that lol. At this point i wasnt caring right enough.

@lookingforadvice15
We’re in the same boat - I’ve been off the pill since Dec but I don’t think my cycle returned to normal until the Feb/March cycle. It will happen for us...I’m due on Tuesday/Weds I think. Perhaps we can keep each other updated?

I found the first months the hardest because I put so much pressure on myself. I read so many messages about people who became pregnant straight away or even on the pill and I thought why couldn’t I be one of those women? I feel this month I’m perhaps most chilled because I feel like I’m at least getting more of a grip on my cycle moving forwards.

We get told all our lives it’s so easy to get pregnant and to be so careful and then when you do want to become pregnant, it’s so difficult.

@Glera we really are in the same boat by the sounds of it. Is this your first child? Are you using opk or temping at all?

@lookingforadvice15 Haven’t been temping. I did start using the clear blue ovulation tests but always seemed to run out before I got the Still face and was too much of a cheapskate to buy a new box...just incase we were lucky.

How about you? How are you feeling now?
I’ve had no pre-AF cramps this month yet but terrible backache. Not sure if that’s just normal for my cycle now it’s settled down post pill or not.

How are all you other ladies feeling?

polkadotjersey · 14/04/2018 14:55

I half-heartedly used OPKs but didn't get a positive result (think I was testing too early) and gave up. I think they can add to the stress. I use Natural Cycles which is good. It uses temping to predict ovulation so you can time DTD.

I've had sore breasts since Monday and had some cramping on Wednesday but feeling okay now.

Glera · 14/04/2018 18:19

@polkadotjersey
I agree with the added stress using the OPKs, perhaps if we continue waiting for a positive I’ll start to use them a lot more carefully.

So many people talk about sore breasts and I’ve not felt anything which makes me feel this month isn’t our month. I hope all works out for you.

Good luck 🤞

I have managed to find my peak each month using opks. I use ic.s until i find my peak then confirm using cb digital.

Dec was cd14 (tricked me thinking my body was back to normal coming straight off the pill)
Jan cd16, Feb cd18 and in March there also cd18. So im hoping that my body is now back to normal and has settled at day 18. I dont temp and think it would make me too stressed.

I am sitting chilling now with a glass of wine. Happy saturday ladies 😊

@lookingforadvice15

It does sound like it’s more settled for you. I hope it is anyway. Tempting just confuses me for now, again, I’ll maybe try it if we’re not pregnant after 6 months of trying.

I always suspected I ovulated around day 17 when I had 28 day cycles.
When I came off the pill I had a 28, 27 and 28 cycle then last month I had a 34 day cycle. That completely threw me off and I thought I was pregnant. Currently on day 32 and think I ovulated on day 23 so feel 34 will be normal for me.

As for a glass of wine, sounds perfect. My other half is at the football today so I may treat myself. Have to say, really enjoying this thread. It isn’t overloaded with people and I can follow what everyone is saying more easily.

@glera haha agree, the thread is just chilled :)

I was the same with my cycles it was 28, 30, then 32 i thought it this just going to keep going and going. But since my opk was positive on the same date this month i think i will settle on 32 days, hopefully!

Its so confusing when you first come off the pill. I dont you about you but my emotions have been all over the place. I also broke out in spots on my back and chest, making me think that my hormones are up and down. Not sure if that would effect ttc? 🤔
