Hello ladies!
I am glad to be here. I have read a few posts, and I think I am at the right place. I was seconded here by a friend who told me that she has found comfort here. Now let me go straight to my story and save you from unnecessary stories. I got married at the age of 30, my husband said that we needed to settle down and learn each other before we start TTC. That is what happened and after three years, it appeared that we were compatible and started TTC. We have been TTC since then but so far I have not yet conceived. We have gone through many tests and my husband has been given a clean bill of health. Now our RE said that I ovulate normally, but she does not understand why I cannot conceive. She has tried to put me on Clomid but nothing has worked. I finally disclosed to her that I conceived and delivered a baby at the age of 25 even though this information is still classified since my husband is not aware of it. Now I fail to understand why I cannot conceive when I want and yet I conceived easily when I was not ready for a child. My DH brought home another fertility doctor who carried out a few tests and said that I suffer from secondary infertility. This is why I basically came here. Can someone help me understand what secondary infertility is? I would also like to know the causes. Finally, advice me on what I can do.

Secondary infertility just means that you have already had a child, it's not a diagnosis. Knowing this rules out some problems but, particularly as time has elapsed, doesn't make a huge difference or give any pointers on what to do next. Basically what you have is unexplained infertility and it is very frustrating.

I have secondary infertility. It’s just a definition meaning someone who already has children that is struggling to conceive. There can be many causes. Complications from a previous pregnancy/birth like uterine scarring, blocked tubes etc. Can be a hormonal thing. Can be no reason at all. That’s what the fertility drs have told me. There’s no visible reason why I shouldn’t conceive. It’s very frustrating. Unfortunately having a child previously is no guarantee you will be able to have another (and I’ve been pregnant twice before when wasn’t trying, now ttc for 18 months with no luck)
