Hoping to find some ladies in a similar situation to either help keep the crazy at bay... or provide company to safely let it out! Grin

DH and I had planned to wait until May-ish to start trying for #2. Our DD is 15.5 months and we are due to complete on our new house next month so wanted to wait. I am still BF but only a couple of times a day. Periods returned at 8 months and have been every 29-33 days since. Downloaded the sodding Ovia app last month, "just to start monitoring my cycles"... instead I am already devoting an unhealthy amount of time to staring at it and subsequently became fixated about DTD on my ovulation day (usually around CD18-20). Successfully managed to seduce DH during DD’s nap this weekend on CD18 and am now descending into madness checking CM and wondering about every minor twinge! Blush

So I guess we are now officially TTC! The madness, upset and hoping begins again!

Please tell me there are some of you in the same boat?!

Hello! Yes we are TTC#2 but no luck yet just started Cycle 3 Sad, trying to be relaxed about it. Wishing you lots of luck! Have you found Ovia useful?

Hi Fifi!

I used Ovia last time. Took us 7 months to conceive, which felt like hell at the time which by all accounts isn’t that bad. I found it quite accurate but I don’t temp or anything else – think I would become truly obsessed!

How long did it take you last time? Are you tracking or tempting etc.?

It took us a little while last time. I'm only tracking AF. I might get some OPK for this cycle but tried on the first cycle but I cant always test it depends if I am at work at that time so it didnt work. I think you need to test every day. We just tried to DTD frequently throughout the month but it doesnt seem to be working for us Sad

Three months isn't long Fifi, although I bet it seems that way. How old is your DC1? I have never used OPKs, would be nice to have clarification of the actual day. But then like you I am not sure how easy it would be at work!

Hi Winter! Great to find another one succumbing to the crazy! Fingers crossed for you this weekend!

This is the first month ttc #2 and despite us both saying we will just see what happens with no pressure we have already started dtd more deliberately around ovulation. Originally DH said he didn't want to know when roughly it was but that didn't last long.

Hello my people!!

DS is 19 months. Been wanting to ttc properly for the last 6 but I was BFing so my cycles never came back. Stopped feeding him a week ago mostly to get them back - all the night weaning (ha!) and stretches of not feeding weren't bringing them back any time soon.

Been using opks regularly for like 5 months just waiting for a positive. Madness.

We literally got pregnant with DS the day we decided to start trying for him so I'm not used to this waiting!

Hi Bluebell and 8Days!

I night weaned about a month ago but my cycles came back pretty regularly at 8 months! Can't seem to cut the bedtime feed although the morning one is slowly getting phased out! Hope your cycles come back soon and you get your positive OPK!

I just went to the toilet at work and got a blob of EWCM. As predicted its CD20 today. We DTD on Saturday, CD18, so probably I'm probably out Sad. I know there is no hope of us DTD tonight either - its a Monday which means I have the nursery pick up to contend with and DH is on lates. I've got to be honest, me and DH just don't seem to DTD as often as before - we are both too tired since DD! I am worried this will be our problem going forward!

Haha this is exactly why I'm using opks. It means that if i get a positive by hell or high water we will be dtd!! Otherwise if for whatever reason it's not ideal we won't do it.

Also, I'm so bloody tired these days that most of the time I only want to dtd cos I want another baby. Is there any point in sex otherwise!?

Wink

Bahahahahaha 8Days!!!! I hear you! Terrible isn't it?!

Might have to invest in some OPKs for next month on the basis of your reasoning! Do you just do them in the fertile week/period or all month?

Every day at the moment due to lack of cycles but when they come back I think I'll start at day 9/10 maybe?

I think this is my thread! 8days we were the same, pregnant on attempt one first time round - despite being 35!
I originally wanted a small gap - less than 2 years but despite my periods coming back at 6 weeks pp and night weaning at 12 months DS still wakes through the night at 18 months so we only started trying in the new year. I said I’d just stop the pill and not worry about it but have started tracking vaguely with Ovia and trying to jump on DH at the right time, just too tired to be consistent! I think we got the 2 peak days this month but not much else so now it’s wait and see. Not sure I want to try next month - the likely due date is Christmas Day! I am soooo jealous of you lucky people who thought about having a baby and then it happened! I know 3 months isn't a long time but it took a while for #1 for us and I'm older this time obviously too.

DrWhy a lot of people say that about Xmas babies it can be a real pain for parents when they are a child and adults when they are older so I dont think its silly. I know a lot of people who avoid certain months because they have lots of other family birthdays etc in them.

That's so funny you mention that Dr cos I was just talking to DH about a December birthday which I've always said I wouldn't like. Similarly, we're in Scotland and the youngest in the class are born in February, oldest in March. So if we conceive in the new 2-3 months they'd be the youngest...

BUT I think I'm passed caring about such things right now and just wanna be preggo!

We are cycle 9 ttc no 2, first one only took 2 months. Starting to feel old! Day 37 of current cycle - ran out of OPKs around day 22 so not sure if/when I ovulated. NOT testing - the disappointment is too hard - just waiting for AF. Fingers crossed for everyone

Hi DrWhy! I thought about having an Xmas baby too but think I will just keep at it, now I’ve started I don’t think I could miss a month! Poor kid will just have to suck up the Xmas birthday Grin

How old are you Fifi? I’m 35.

Oooo fingers crossed for you TheWorst!

December birthdays are subjective, my DH has one and likes it.

8days Scotland here too so also worrying about that! But my sister as one of the youngest in her year is doing very well as an adult so it didn’t disadvantage her. Early Dec would be OK but by the time my birthday came, schools had broken up and everyone was doing family things so hard to arrange a party and however much my parents tried to seperate birthday and Christmas it’s not easy. I don’t mind now, I am happy to hijack a Christmas party or event but I wouldn’t want to have a child with a Christmas birthday. That said of course we could have one born weeks early at Christmas even if we wait...!

Ooh wouldn't it be lovely if we all got pregnant this month and were worrying about our Christmas babies and their future birthday parties Grin haha if only Smile

Though my little sister (27 years younger than me!) is born a few days before Xmas and it is less than ideal. I've vowed to make sure she doesn't ever get any joint birthday-Xmas presents

My best friend is born the start of January and that's arguably worse cos everyone's skint then!

Mind if I join you ladies? TTC no.2 (DS is 4) and after a MC in Jan I'm still getting faint positives so heading back to EPU but driving myself crazy symptom spotting on the off chance this could be a new pregnancy (though can't help think it's unlikely really). The MC seems to have sent me loopy as I'm on here constantly POAS (opks and hpt) and googling symptoms lol. Maybe I'll calm down when AF arrives....

I woke up to an abundance of EWCM. It's CD21 which would be about right for a 33 day cycle. Going to see if I am can jump on DH tonight but thinking chances are slim - have had to keep DD off nursery today as she's not well so not sure I will be arsed later!

Hi HidCat! Sorry to hear about everything you have been through. I hope you manage to get checked out Thanks

Sorry about the BFN TheWorst. Could it be too early?

I've now got the hump because there is no way we are going to get to It today - DD is really poorly and currently asleep on meConfused

Sorry theworst :( hope AF doesn't show. I remember from before, early pregnant symptoms and AF symptoms are frustratingly similar so you just don't know sometimes!

MrsBrightside the joys of ttc number 2 I guess! Sometimes there's no getting round the toddler 🙈

Think I would be clutching at straws this month - AF not here yet but have EWCM so can’t be far off. Sorry @brightside - kids eh
