Thread five!

A safe place for those of you who have been trying to conceive for 6+ months and even yams aren’t helping. Come and have a good ol’ bitch and a moan without judgement.

The Yam Commandments are as follows;

  • Thou shalt not arrive one day and post BFP next day

  • Thou shalt not give advice to others when TTC for one month only

  • Thou shalt not participate in one-up-manship and realise TTC is shit for everyone in different ways

  • Thou shall allow posters to be fucked off with the world and everything in it at regular points in the month

  • Thou shalt not be offended by strong language

  • Thou shalt not tell everyone to eat yams

  • Thou shall accept being called a muppet for testing at 7dpo at 9pm at night

And most importantly...

  • Thou shalt not symptom spot during the two week wait and must be prepared for a telling off if you do so.

Hello everyone! I hate that we’re all still here on thread 5. I’ve been busy being my sister’s birthing partner since yesterday morning. After 21 hours of me being up at the hospital, my niece finally came this morning and watching my sister in labour, crying her eyes out in pain, even seeing the head crowning, it just made me want all of this even more, I was hoping it would put me off for life so I didn’t have to keep going through this hellish nightmare lol

Congrats, Bubble! You are such a strong person to be on the journey you're on, yet being there for your sister at this time. So proud of you x

Welcome, Pink, sorry you have to be here but you will find it a very supportive place.

Well done Bubblegum love, not easy but you sound like you did beautifully.

I'm still here. Bit of cramping this evening, just waiting for the bleed now. Sad

I've had so many symptoms today: sore throat & stuffy nose, kidney pain, craving for sausages (the fact I was cooking them at the time has nothing to do with it!), a few abdomen twinges... Totes preggers, obvs. Can't be anything else at 6dpo, right?! Grin

Aww thank you ladies ☺️ She’s beautiful and I’m hoping being able to have baby cuddles all the time will take the edge off the ttc crap for a while.

I’m sorry Limp do you know for certain what’s going on now?

Sooz I found myself symptom spotting the other day (5dpo) then remembered we didn’t even dtd round fw this month because I had to have my HyCoSy so there’s zero chance I can be pregnant 😂

Hi again yammettes - thanks for the new thread sooz

Nothing much from me - still going, another cycle started so ready for a TTC-free month with hycosy in a couple of weeks

Congrats on your niece bubble - you're a strong woman for being a birthing partner xx fx for the fertility boost post-hycosy - our FC actually mentioned it, so it's a proper thing Hmm

Ugh wonky what is going on?! Nightmare cycle...

Hi pink - welcome, though sorry AF got you early, dammit Flowers

@limplettice am so sorry for the limbo you're in, I hope you're able to distract yourself until you get more certainty. Have everything crossed that the consultant is right, but understand the need to protect yourself and not get hopes up. Take care, thinking of you xxx

Morning Yammers, I'm on CD13 now and AF is due on Friday.

Stupidly tested yesterday which was way too soon but I'd had dry eyes and so convinced myself 'this is the one!'

It wasn't so I went out and drank gin instead.

Congratulations @Bubblegum89 Thanks I could never be a birthing partner, I kept my eyes closed through DS birth!
