Anyone else waiting to TTC?

I thought we could keep each other company while we wait!

Your age/DH age: 29/39
Baby #: This will be #2
When are you TTC: I think we should start in June when DS is 2 but we are so broody it might be sooner
Why are you waiting: We are doing some house renovations at the moment & sorting out some stuff financially. Everything seems a bit up in the air & I can only stress about a couple of things at a time. I'm looking forward to life settling down only to have a newborn mess it all up again Grin
What are you doing to keep busy?: I'm project managing house renovations & enjoying one-on-one time with DS before he (hopefully) becomes a big brother. DH & I are having a huge joint birthday party in September for my 30th & his 40th so I'm enjoying planning that!

Hi my other half and I are thinking of starting to try for our first after my 30th in June.
How long did it take you the first time round? If you don't mind me asking.

Hiya!

We're 31 and 32 and will be trying for baby number 1! Were looking to start trying in the summer after we get married! Excited and scared at the same time Smile

JustCatMumAtTheMo no problem. We were extremely lucky & got pregnant the first time of trying. I had been using Fertility Friend for years & was pretty in tune in ovulation signs etc to get timings right. I'll definitely do that again this time around

Hiya!

Age - 23/25
Not looking to start trying until I've got some exams out of the way, which will be towards the end of the year.

We are mainly waiting for my exams to be done, but also doing some work on our house.

I'm struggling with the wait, I want it to be here now!

Hi! I'm 31, DH is 32 and we're hoping to ttc no 2 in late summer. Our reason for waiting is partly financial and partly so that I'll hopefully be on maternity leave when ds starts school next September and I can walk him to and from for the first few months. We're also going on a family holiday in July this year (a big treat for us) so I want to be able to enjoy that before ttc.

We're both 34 and will be TTC#3 in May. We're waiting partly to avoid having a newborn over a lot of winter as I found that difficult with my first two (October and January born) but they both took nearly 18 months each to conceive so no guarantees there. I also want to lose a bit more weight first and we just moved into a house we're renovating so getting the major work out of the way.
I'm very excited to start trying and have just bought a Ava watch which is supposed to help with cycle tracking. I love a TTC gadget!
I have PCOS but my last 3 cycles have been regular which is a first since coming off birth control back in 2011. I'm hoping continued weight loss will keep that going!

hey happytobemrsg!!! How are you? hope so you are in good health and enjoying your time. You have asked some questions. I don’t know what the logic behind it. What will you do with it? So I would like to answer your questions
your age: my age is 34
Baby number: trying for the first baby
When you are TTC: first time we had in May 2016 and second time we had in 2017 and now want to get an appointment sooner
Why are you waiting: After passing more years after my age I realized that you cannot live with your profession whole time. You need to complete your family. I am an infertile woman and looking for surrogacy but my husband is not agreeing on it. He thinks we will have a natural birth. He does not like this procedure. That’s why I am standing in a long queue.
What are you doing to keep busy? Well, I am a professional lady? Usually, I spend my day in my clinic and more and less in my home. I like to spend my days with my husband so when he has an off from his office prefer to live in the home and make different dishes for him. We like to spend our whole days with each other. His and my habits are same. You can say much better understanding!!!!

@Squ1ggle I definitely understand wanting to be free to enjoy your big holiday! I'm also weighing up the possibility of being pregnant at our big birthday party in September but I was so busy at our wedding that I didn't finish a single drink so I figured I'd be ok not drinking

@NoseringGirl DS was born in late June & while it was difficult dealing with his vancination temperatures during the summer it was lovely being able to go for walks & just get out of the house generally. I'm going to google that watch...

@crazyforpiggies where are you going on holiday? We are going Edinburgh next month & possibly Israel in May time before it gets too hot out there

@belleQwetry nothing behind my questions, just thought it would be nice to get to know each other while we wait Smile it must be very tough if you're open to surrogacy & your DH is not Flowers

Hi all! Can I join? We will be ttc next month for dc3 we have waited till now as just getting over house move, renovations and dc2 arriving. Also we're going away in September so waiting till next month so I can definitely still fly. Dc1 was a happy accident and dc2 was conceived straight after a miscarriage so while I'm excited at the possibility of number3 Iv lost the happy ignorance of nothing going wrong.

Hi! Can I join too!
I'm 28, OH is 27. Looking to start trying in May, been waiting till the due to a combination of my work (fixed term contract) and OH going back to uni (hopefully if we start ttc in may, if I fell straight away OH would be working towards the end of my mat leave!) - so purely financial. Been lurking on the conception boards a while so it'll be nice to have some people to chat with in the same position!

Hi! I'll join please.
I'm 32, DH 33.
Thinking of #3.
Waiting until towards the end of the year.
Waiting because a) we're on holiday in a country with Zika at the moment b) DH is not sure yet. I really want to try for a third but I think we've both got to really want to do it.
Keeping busy as we have just moved abroad and are about to buy a house there, so it will take a while to sort out the house and get everyone settled and sorted.

I've been planning to start the preconception vitamins as I read it takes a few weeks to build up in your system.
Other than that, I'm trying to lose some weight. Finding it harder as I get older though!

Report
BusterBluth21 · 11/02/2018 21:50

I've bought some pregnacare conception multivits to take. Trying to lost a little bit of weight too and start back the couch to 5k! Not sure what else is recommended! Are your OHs going to take any vits? Mine doesn't seem to think he needs any!

Report
Lilsquish · 11/02/2018 22:10

Yeah we have the 'his and hers' vitamins.

Used them last time too.

I dont need to lose weight, really i need to put some on. But i eat VERY unhealthily and want to rectify this over the next few months. Far too many takeaways and chocolate

Report
NoseringGirl · 11/02/2018 22:13

My DH has the vits the first time around, I'm not sure he did the second time around though!
I lost quite a bit of weight before TTC#2 and have a bit more to go. That bit is the hardest! I blame the PCOS for making it difficult. I'm off sugar and watching carbs but it's still hanging on.

Lilsquish I'm on the pill at the moment but they were irregular for a** while before that. My gynaecologist said to go and see him before TTC to get bloods done as otherwise it would be impossible to date the pregnancy with any accuracy.
