TTC#1 - Ovulation dates and Natural Cycles app help please

First time poster looking for a little help working out ovulation please :)

I stopped taking cerelle on 1 January and started using Natural Cycles TTC#1 aged 30. I had no withdrawal bleed, but very light spotting on CD10 and 11. I've been tracking BBT since early January, and Natural Cycles tells me I ovulated on CD18 - I used ovulation sticks as recommended on CD11, 14, 16-22, and never got a positive reading. However, my temperature spiked at CD12 and remained high after that.

I've since had a true AF (unless withdrawal bleeds are as heavy and painful as normal AF?), and am now on CD10. What I want to know is, should I start using the ovulation sticks again now since the Natural Cycles App doesn't know my cycle very well yet? Is there a chance I either didn't ovulate last month (with coming off the pill), or that I ovulated much earlier than the app thinks? And should I be testing twice a day rather than the recommended once? Natural Cycles doesn't want me to use the ovulation sticks until CD16.

For background, I've been using the pill constantly for ~17 years, with a change from combined to mini 3-4 years ago.

I'd appreciate any thoughts on this from more experienced ladies!

Hi @Liland I think you're right on think you may not have ovulated last month.
I start using OPKs from CD10 so I'd suggest starting them today
I test in the morning (not fmu as advised) and in the evening.
Unfortunately it might take a while for your body to find a rhythm after birth control however you could easily get pregnant this cycle.
Sorry I'm not much help.
I wish you the best of luck on your journey and fx you get a bfp soon!

Thanks for the feedback and wishes @DaisyMay25 :)

Of course I understand that it could take a good long while for us to conceive even with me ovulating. I'm just keen to continue to move forwards, so actually finding out if I'm even ovulating would be a good next step.

If you're temp spiked on CD12, I might think you ovulated on day 11, and would maybe have had seen a OPK peak on day 10... maybe?
