TTC after the mini pill

Hi ladies

I've recently started ttc after a miscarriage last October.

After the miscarriage I went on the mini pill for a couple of months and stopped taking this on the 1st Jan on the first day of my 'monthly bleed' (I still bled on mini pill but only very light and for a few days usually) after which I had a withdrawal bleed pretty much straight off the bat until 8th Jan.

Since then we've been actively trying every other day but I did NOT do any ovulation tests this month so have no idea when I did or if I did?!

AF would technically be due tomorrow if I were to go off my usual monthly cycle but for the past couple of days I've been having a LOT of watery clear or white discharge. As in enough to make my knickers wet and run to the loo think af had arrived (sorry tmi). I've never had this before a period before and so I'm a bit confused... Did anyone experience this coming off the pill or in early pregnancy (wishful thinking I know!)?

Last week I had cramps and the feeling of getting a UTI which I actually went to the Drs about but no infection according to their tests.

If you're due tomorrow it would be late enough to test.

I came off cerelle mid Nov and fell pregnant this month. Id have recommended using the OPKs as the minipill can make your body mimic ovulation so at least you'd have known if you were producing LH.

Good luck!

Hi, thanks for responding!

Yeah I'm trying to hold off testing just yet. I'm avoiding the disappointment I think. Somehow I'd be less disheartened by seeing AF tomorrow than a BFN :(

I've read that the pill can mess up the timing of your cycle when you stop. Did you go straight back to your regular dates? I'm not sure if the fact I was only on it for 2 months maybe betters my chances that I'll have regular cycles soon.

I've ordered some OPK kits for next month so will be starting soon :)

Congratulations by the way!!

Loads of cm was an early symptom for me. Good luck.

I've been getting period style cramps last night and today though so I suspect she's on her way :( although a no show so far.

If nothing after a couple of days I'll be brave and do test haha

Does anyone else feel it's easier to see AF than those big words 'NOT PREGNANT' on test!!

It's exciting but also stressful isn't it! I'm finding it particularly difficult to stay positive after the miscarriage but I'm determined it'll happen. My OH is so laid back like 'it'll happen when it happens' but I'm so impatient.

God knows what I'll be like after a few months. Probably a rocking mess in a corner somewhere mumbling to myself about CM and implantation pains lol.

Its good though that you know you ovulated so in with a good chance :) I hope it's your month for a BFP! :) Xx

Oh my gosh so sorry to hear that. I know it was such a dark time for me so sending hugs and baby dust your way!

I have heard actually people saying that they tend to have no symptoms when they are pregnant! It's very strange and cruel that our bodies can play tricks on us.

Some days I find it really difficult as my partner already has 2 children and so it can be heartbreaking watching him with them but just got to stay positive and think that will be us one day soon and it'll be worth the wait ❤️❤️

@Mangopr1 - how is it going? Did you get AF yet? I also came off mini pill at the start of the month, first month TTC and I'm due AF any day now, thought it was arriving this morning but nothing fully happening yet (TMI?!) but have had nausea, headaches, tiredness, cramps, what I thought could be implantation bleed Thurs and Fri. Just think I'm out this cycle but not over till fat AF sings!

Hiya!

No AF yet! Technically 3 days late now if I'm going off my usual cycle but absolutely zero activity other than excess CM and some cramping here and there. I did take a test today which was a BFN :( so looking like I'm just having a long cycle cry. Just want it to come now so I can get on with trying again haha.

Interesting to hear from someone in the same boat as me on our first months off BC. You must let me know how it goes for you! Fingers crossed :)

So frustrating! Just want her to come now! Still trying every other day just in case I've ovulated late. OH is complaining haha.

I think I have the same OPKs as you but I've not tried them yet. Did it come with a little sheet of instructions? I think I read something on the back about how dark the second line has to be to read as a positive? Although I'd say that looks good! :) Xx

Hmm perhaps you ovulated late than you thought and the last one on 5th wasn't quite a positive? That one def looks a better line than the first xx

I stopped taking the mini pill after 9 years of no periods. Nothing returned. I wasn't expecting them to for upto a year. No pregnancy symptoms either.

I was pregnant! Found out at 20 weeks after tiredness was getting too much. I must've caught straight away.

POAS!

Yeah I reckon it's late ovulation then by the sounds of it which I suppose isn't uncommon after just stopping the pill! Get BDing! Haha Grin I've not tested with my OPK yet but I definitely reckon I'm having a long cycle!

I did take a hpt two days ago which was a BFN :( but suppose if cycle is late than a BFP would be too!

Fingers crossed for us 🤞🤞🤞

Congratulations QueenEnid!! Did you ovulate late in your first cycle coming off pill?
