Where there’s a Yam, there’s a way

Thread numero four-o.

A safe place for those of you who have been trying to conceive for 6+ months and even yams aren’t helping. Come and have a good ol’ bitch and a moan without judgement.

The Yam Commandments are as follows;

- Thou shall not arrive one day and post BFP next day

- Thou shall not give advice to others when TTC for one month only

- Thou shall not participate in one-up-manship and realise TTC is shit for everyone in different ways

- Thou shall allow posters to be fucked off with the world and everything in it at regular points in the month

- Thou shall not be offended by strong language

- Thou shall not tell everyone to eat yams

- Thou shall accept being called a muppet for testing at 7dpo at 9pm at night

And most importantly...

- Thou shall not symptom spot during the two week wait and must be prepared for a telling off if they do so.

Welcome and welcome. We’re all very nice and friendly despite being horrible bitter old cows ☺️

Thanks for the new thread! The last one has really helped keep me sane over the past couple of months...

LovePinaColada Mon 08-Jan-18 22:08:15

Thanks @Bubblegum89 - gosh, just realised I have been on all four threads, along with many of you. This is the lucky thread, I know it! 🤞

NewSense Mon 08-Jan-18 22:09:53

Thanks bubblegum

May none of us be here in 1000 posts wine

Bubblegum89 Mon 08-Jan-18 22:12:36

I’ve been in all four as well I think LovePina I’ll probably be here for number 47 lol let’s hope we get a load more BFP’s this thread smile

Armygirl Mon 08-Jan-18 22:16:26

Thanks for allowing me to join. Well I think you have 🤔 lol.

Pibbee Mon 08-Jan-18 22:20:36

Thanks for starting the new thread!! This is the second one of these that I have been on....

DH dropped his S.A. sample off on Friday just gone, I avoided posting about it until it had all been done cos I thought it reasonably likely he would wimp out/make excuses, cos he reeeeeaallly didn’t wanna do it, results should be back in a couple weeks...

As for me, heading into FW later in the week, can’t really arsed at this stage tbh!!

Got my first appt at the fertility clinic end of Jan. Argh.

MynameisJune Mon 08-Jan-18 22:22:27

Just dropping in so I know where you all are!

Let’s hope this one is short and sweet for us all!!

Teachermummy83 Mon 08-Jan-18 22:23:43

Thanks for the new thread @bubblegum. smile Hope it’s the lucky one for some of us! If not, let’s hope there’s plenty wine, chocolate and banter along the way! winecakewink

Bubblegum89 Mon 08-Jan-18 22:27:54

No you’re not allowed in ArmyGirl get out! Haha I’m just joking, of course you’re allowed smile

I don’t understand why men don’t want to get SA done Pibbee they are literally just having a nice little tug. We have to be poked and prodded and have things shoved up our vaginas and we don’t complain!

Mamabooksbabynumber2 Mon 08-Jan-18 22:29:46

Thanks bubblegum 🤗
I've been on all 4 threads too! Bah! Let's hope we get some more of us graduating before the 1000th post 💖

Armygirl Mon 08-Jan-18 22:40:54

LookingAtTheStars89 Mon 08-Jan-18 22:44:26

Snowyjoey Tue 09-Jan-18 00:17:10

Can I join please? I'm TTC #1 since the summer and not even a whiff of a bfp.

Just crazy irregular cycles thank you bloody pill so I basically have no idea what's going on every month. Yay! hmm Never been pregnant before so this is all new to me.

LookingAtTheStars89 Tue 09-Jan-18 00:38:32

@Snowyjoey. Yeah my cycles are unpredictable. In the summer they were 28-29 days long and now they are more like 36. I THINK I may have pinpointed ovulation this cycle, I think lol but who knows! If no bfp this month I'm going to book myself in for a private fertility scan so I can get some idea of what's going on. Otherwise it's just me a dh dtd every other day for 30 odd days lol!!!

LookingAtTheStars89 Tue 09-Jan-18 00:38:57

@Bubblegum89. Thank you x

RhiBee29 Tue 09-Jan-18 06:49:41

Thanks for setting u the thread @Bubblegum89...hoping it's 3rd thread lucky for me!

PirateWeasel Tue 09-Jan-18 07:16:01

Waves to everyone! So sorry we're all still here but it is such a great place for support. I'm on cycle 7 and trying to stay positive. Have a sneaky feeling my boss is expecting so waiting for that delightful baby bomb any day now, bleurgh. Happy for her and all that, but it sucks for me... you know what I mean. Love and baby dust to everyone. 2018 will be our year, guys! X

LimpLettice Tue 09-Jan-18 07:28:46

I'm still lurking, 4 threads in too but my negativity is too much even for this place confused. Good news on our couple of bfps.

Trying to concentrate on other things a bit. Planning a wedding in less than 5 months and off to Vegas this week which is a distraction. Ditched the opks too. All a bit pointless and just too much pressure. Last month was last cycle to give birth at 40, it's a headfuck.

QuietTime Tue 09-Jan-18 08:29:37

Thanks for the new thread bubblegum! Can't believe its already been 4 threads...sigh...

Hi all - sorry to see the familiar names, but fx for some more luck. limp Vegas sounds like a great distraction - sorry about the shitty 'milestones'...

Good luck to all - bring on the 2018 bfps smile

DoAsDreamersDo Tue 09-Jan-18 08:39:04

Thanks for starting the new thread Bubble shame we're all still here though, and sorry to all the newbies joining. We're not a very lucky thread unfortunately x

FairyAnn Tue 09-Jan-18 08:46:34

Hello New Thread! Trying to de-stress a bit more this year, and DTD more often during the FW. Fingers crossed.
