Ladies, the old thread has now closed so I created a new one but can't post the link, hopefully you'll find it and we can continue.

ThanksOrchid for setting up new thread.

So, what were we saying....?

minime2017 Sun 07-Jan-18 22:55:06

Thanks Orchid

JoJoyorker Sun 07-Jan-18 22:58:55

Phew I thought i had lost you all

JoJoyorker Mon 08-Jan-18 08:33:17

Does anybody take evening primrose oil? I've read a couple of articles about how it regulates hormones and increases EWCM. It says to take from day until ovulation.

Cleozeta Mon 08-Jan-18 10:03:25

Ooh we have moved!
Hi Jo, I take evening primrose oil, seems to work ok for me. Taken it for 2 months, first month definitely had more ewcm, although it dried up a few days before ov. Last month was hard to tell as I was ill at my fertile time and massively dehydrated so did not get much ewcm.
Have you seen the thread about grapefruit juice? Apparently that works wonders for ewcm. Might give that a go this month too!

JoJoyorker Mon 08-Jan-18 10:54:48

Yes I've been following the thread about grapefruit juice with interest! It's on my shopping list 😀 it's worth a go, supposed to be good for weight loss too. I'm going to start taking evening primrose again I think. I used to take it for PMS but stopped when started TTC. Do you take from day 1-14? Mine is combined with cod liver oil I assume that's ok?

Cleozeta Mon 08-Jan-18 11:10:38

I take it cd1 - ovulation. No idea about cod liver oil but assume that must be ok.
Also thinking about preseed this month too

JoJoyorker Mon 08-Jan-18 11:16:24

I have started with the pre seed too. This will be the third month using it.

Alibaba2 Mon 08-Jan-18 11:25:28

Yes I take epo until ov.

Alibaba2 Mon 08-Jan-18 11:39:06

Does anyone take Vitex/Agnus Castus?

Karigan1 Mon 08-Jan-18 11:40:41

Ah there you all are smile.

Still nothing to report here. Day 49 of this never ending wondering where AF is post pill. Boobs been hurting for 2 weeks so at least somethings kicking in now. Tested just in case but negative however that’s to be expected really as had high fertility over end if December new year so if anything happened it’ll show on the tests end if this week or next week anyway

If I’m not pregnant I just hope I see an AF soon so I know things are working!!! So frustrating and worrying.

littlemimosa Mon 08-Jan-18 13:12:19

Karigan sorry you’re feeling worried. Don’t stress too much, it’s going to take your body a while to regulate post birth control. Were you on the pill long? From what I’ve read it’s totally normal to have irregular cycles for up to a year after coming off.

I take epo up to ovulation too. I do get a fair amount of ewcm but no idea if it helps or not. Am also currently sipping some pink grapefruit juice with my lunchsmile

Ali - I started to take Agnus Castus a few months ago but spoke to a herbalist just to check it’s ok whilst ttc and he told me Shatavari is better when ttc. It’s a herb too. If you google it with the words fertility it gives impressive reading. So I’m now on vits/minerals, epo, ubiquinol, shatavari, probiotics and have recently started Serrapeptase on the back of Polly saying it had worked for her! I’m going to just finish the Serrapeptase packet then stop tho. I’ve been researching it and not 100% happy with taking it long term.

CD7 here and already fed up as I’ve started with ewcm!! I’m getting worried about how often I ovulate early in my cycle. So frustrating. It leaves no time after finishing AF for the egg to mature or for dtd! Don’t think I’ve actually ovulated yet but it’s obviously imminent. How many days of ewcm do you all get?

littlemimosa Mon 08-Jan-18 13:13:50

Cleo i have read that cod liver oil is great for fertility. It’s on my to do list but I’m already rattling.

Alibaba2 Mon 08-Jan-18 13:37:02

Mimosa - I always go from AF spotting straight to ewcm. I also get creamy cm before AF so I wonder if everything starts firing up for ov then. Ewcm really varies. One cycle I drank 2 litres of water/day and had ewcm pouring out of me. Most cycles I notice it sporadically for about 3 days.

I’ll look up Shatavari, thanks. Am speaking to my consultant tomorrow.

JoJoyorker Mon 08-Jan-18 13:48:05

I get a lot less EWCM then I used to. I always used to get a lot of really wet mucus after the EWCM which is supposed to be good but I don't seem to get that anymore. I just get a couple of days of EWCM and then I seem to ovulate a day or two after it's gone. I drink loads of water so not dehydrated that's why I thought I'd try the EP and grapefruit juice.

Alibaba2 Mon 08-Jan-18 14:08:31

I never noticed ewcm in my whole life until we started ttc in 2016. I’ve just ordered grapefruit juice as I used to drink that and it helped.

FYI early ov-ers, I had FSH tested once on cd3 and it was around 9. Another cycle I tested on cd1 and it was around 7. I know it varies between cycles but I think if you ov early, test earlier.

Alibaba2 Mon 08-Jan-18 14:13:51

Mimosa, what dose of Shatavari do you take?

Karigan1 Mon 08-Jan-18 14:24:26

Just been to buy juice. I don’t recollect seeing EWCM at all!

littlemimosa Mon 08-Jan-18 14:49:50

Really interesting to hear everyone’s experiences.
Ali have you always ovulated early or is it a more recent thing? I think mine has been getting gradually earlier since my late 30s. I’ve no idea of the dose of Shatavari but I take Pukka Wholistic Shatavari which says 1-2 tablets per day. I just take 1. Did you google it?

Alibaba2 Mon 08-Jan-18 15:12:55

Yes I’ve ordered some - arriving tomorrow! Thank you.

I’ve never taken that much notice of my cycle (until now) but I do know that it got shorter early 30s and periods got lighter then too. That’s why we started ttc but conceived straight away. After I stopped breastfeeding DD1, I had a massively heavy period and long cycle and conceived DD2 straight away then.

I fell pg accidentally in 2016 and I know I ov’d on cd11 as I feel ov. I also know ov was early with DD1 as they brought the due date back by a week!

So cycle was around 26 days for most of 30s and since 40 it’s 24-26 days. So I’m sure it’s getting shorter but I’m not definite. I do know I’ve been surprised by early AF quite a few times over past 5 or so years.

Cleozeta Mon 08-Jan-18 18:37:44

I think as we get older ov either happens earlier or later, and periods either go lighter or heavier. Either way it takes some wonky route or another! Currently mine has taken the later ov & heavier period route although that may change

Cleozeta Mon 08-Jan-18 18:51:14

Shatavari sounds interesting. Might add that to my list...

Karigan1 Mon 08-Jan-18 19:01:28

I’m going for vitamin d and pre Nate’s at the moment as I always spotted when off birth control (or on some types). Apparently it can help get you regular etc. Here’s hoping!

Orchid222 Mon 08-Jan-18 22:25:27

Phew glad you all found the new thread!

Re: greipfruit juice, I can't say I've been drinking it religiously but I love it so drink it whenever I have it in the fridge which is quite often plus I eat one greipfruit a day but can't say that's made any difference to my EWCM or any other type of CM which is non-existent for me sad

I'll google Serrapeptase and Shatavari tomorrow and will probably get some as well. How are they supposed to help?

Alibaba- what consultant are you seeing? You said a few days ago that my progesterone was great at 91 and I agree but it doesn't seem to make any difference since we've tried for 8 cycles now and nothing. Last month we even started on cd7 all the way to cd21 just to cover all the basis and still nothing! I guess I'm like you, everything's fine on paper but I'm not getting pregnant. Oh I also started using pre seed last month to help with my non-existent EWCM so hoping something will finally happened but I got discouraged after you said someone told you last Jan you'd be pregnant within 3 months and you're not. Looks like we're in the same boat.
