Just a moan really! Day 9 of using clearblue digital ovulation test and I want to stomp on that flashing smiling face! Got 1 day low fertile and 8 days high, give me my peak day already, I feel like it is teasing me!

Our fertility clinic advised against Clearblue ovulation tests for this very reason. They reckoned that the cheapie ones that just give you a line are much better. Good luck!

I am in the exact same position with clearblue. First cycle I only got flashing smiley. Had 8 in a row and then ran out of sticks! On second cycle this now and hoping for the static smiley this month.

I'm on day 4 of the flashing smiley! Starting to think they're gonna go on forever.

If I don’t get my static smiley this month then I’m giving up on clearblue and trying some internet cheapies. cb far too expensive if not getting any results!

I have some cheap strips as well and have just done one, the lines not quite as dark as the control line but almost. Hopefully tbat means I will get my static peak smiley with cb in the morning. They are driving me insane Sad

Yeah me too @anxiouswaiting! I’m not sure if opk are for me as seems way more stressful than just dtd every other day lol 🙂

This is my first month trying Clearblue and I have to say I'm very impressed. I started testing with FMU from cd7 and got my first flashing yesterday so I tested again in the evening still flashing, read this thread and thought oh sh*t. Tested again this morning with FMU still flashing. But this afternoon I got a static!

Maybe it's a fluke or I'm just lucky? Are you ladies using the first wee of the day?

@blissfulignorance. Yes I’ve been using fmu but only ever got a flashing smiley. Cycle usually 30-36 days so started testing CD16 as per the instructions. First flashing on CD23. This continued for another 7 days. Ran out of sticks but didn’t matter as af arrived CD30!

Are you testing morning and afternoon then since you said that you got a static in the afternoon? I was thinking about doing this in case I was missing my peak but not sure I’d be able to avoid going to the toilet for 4-5 hours whilst at work!

@bubblybrit I only started testing twice a day since I got the flashing face, I was starting to get concerned that I wasn't going to get a flashing face at all! Apparently I ovulate later than I thought my cycles have changed and shortened post mc to 25 days so I'd assume I'd get a peak on cd 10 but I'm cd13 now. Who knows?!

Sorry to hear about your mc Flowers @blissfulignorance. Hope you get your BFP soon! I might try that as some have said that by using fmu only that it is possible to miss your surge! Clearblue just seems so expensive to test twice per day Sad

Thanks @bubblybrit it's been about 6 months since so healing well now.

I figured at this point I'd try anything and the tests are certainly cheaper than ivf! Ask me again in another 6 months if I find them affordable!

After 16months ttc I'm happy to spend £20 a month on tests.

I’m glad to hear that you are healing well @blissfulignorance. This is only my second cycle ttc. Thought I’d use opk as my friend recommended them but had a nightmare first time round. Started using them again on Monday so will see if I get a better result this cycle. If not then think I’ll have a month or two of just dtd every other day and see where that gets me lol Smile

Finally got my static smiley at CD15. I guess that means next month I don't need to start testing so early? (although hoping for a Christmas BFP and not needing ovulation tests! )

Great news @anxiouswaiting. There is now hope of a static for us all Smile! I’m on CD12 and not even got a flashing smiley as yet! Usually on a 28 day cycle you’d expect to test around day 8. I’m usually 30-36 so always start on CD10 just to be on the safe side as you can ovulate earlier or later compared with when you ovulated on your previous cycle.

I've had the same issue 3 months of flashing smilies only. So this month I decided to do some cheap internet OPKs each free noon as well as clear blue in the morning.

Did one last night and didn't look like anything but this morning it looks like this.... is it positive?

Clearblue ovulation tests driving me crazy!

I’m no expert on the internet cheapies but the test line looks as dark as the control line so I’d say positive!

Day 7 of flashing smiley faces now... still hoping that static face is going to appear at some point.

@snufflebabe94. Seems to be a bit of a theme that the flashing smiley is taunting us! Fx for your static. I started testing CD10. Now CD13 and nothing! Expecting flashing shortly but holding out for static this month.

I used a CB ovulation test today for the first time. I'm on CD 15 and got a low reading :( I'm using a fertility app and it's telling me I'm highly fertile so was very surprised when the OPK came back low. Does it make a difference if you use FMU or test in evening? I'm a first time trier and very confused can someone please shed some light on my situation please? Thank you :)

Blissfulignorance · 14/12/2017 21:25

@SparkLee if you're using the Clearblue the instructions say to use FMU once a day until you get the flashing then in order to catch your peak you could test more than once a day but you should hold a wee for at least 4 hours and not over hydrate.

Hope that helps Smile

blissful ahh thank you, I obviously didn't read the instructions properly! Blush. I will try first thing tomorrow then. This is all new to me and I expected it to be a doddle. Clearly I have so much to learn about ttc Grin. So I don't need to be worrying quite yet that the test came back with a low chance?

I wouldn’t worry just yet @SparkLee. My cycles are usually 30-36 days. Didn’t get my flashing smiley last month until CD21/22
