PCSO's & Low Ovulation - Trying to Convieve

Hi everyone,

I'm currently on Provera (helps to induce a period) and Clomid.

I've been off the pill for nearly 3 years and I started to realise something wasn't right as I wasn't having a period...... to cut a long story short I was diagnosed with low ovulation levels and PCSOs at the age of 22...... my body also doesn't produce natural periods, which explains why I'm on Provera.

I'm now on my 2nd round of Clomid to help me and my fiancé to conceive. I didn't ovulate on my first round of 50mg and now I'm on 100mg.

I would really like to hear any success stories as it can be so hard trying to keep positive but I know mine and my partners time will come one day 😊

Hi. Currently pregnant 20w after my second round on clomid 50mg. I didn’t use Provera but similar one. My body doesn’t naturally ovulate (I was without period for 14m when ttc ) but the medicines helped me ovulating.

Each body is different, I know people to whom Clomid hasnt worked but I know few others who have been successful with it. I always thought i had more chances on it than without it as mentioned i could be months and months without a proper cycle.

Yes that's true, body's are a very strange but wonderful thing.

I joined mumsnet today just so I could reply to your message!

I got diagnosed with PCOS at 17, I'm 31 now. I had NEVER had regular periods, maybe one or two a year at best!

I decided I wanted a baby last year, I got prescribed clomid after a referral to a fertility consultant. Took it for two rounds and then stopped as I was moving up in my career and wanted to focus on that for a bit. I did not get pregnant within those two rounds however, it somehow kicked started my ovaries and I began to have regular periods 28-31 day cycle every month - never had that before in my life! My husband and I did not use protection within that time and I did not get pregnant, so obviously I still needed a bit of help.

I started clomid again in April of this year and got pregnant on my second round in May. I am now 27 weeks pregnant and expecting a baby girl in Feb.

I never ever believed I would get pregnant as I had known about my PCOS since the age of 17 and read loads of message boards online over the years with people sharing their horror stories of not getting pregnant with PCOS. I think it is important PCOSers share the positive stories to give other ladies the hope and optimism they need!

Hi OP - did want to post and run.

I have endo and PCOS diagnosed via scans and blood tests. Symptoms are pain, very sparse ovulation and very heavy periods when I do get them.

I also want to say I am the proud mother of 2 wonderful boys aged 5 1/2 and 1. With the second I had given up any chance of having another baby. I suspected I may have either endo or PCOS but not both.... I was devastated when my Consultant told me.

I had a number of tests and scans including a hysteroscopy and was due to have surgery for ovarian drilling and removal of the endo deposits when I randomly decided to take another test and it came back positive!! Looking at the dates I must have just conceived when they did the hysteroscopy 😮😮 (they made me take a test before hand to check I was not pregnant) so cue early scans and some breath holding to check everything was where it should be as she mostly definitely did not spot any embryo when they did the hysteroscopy.

My youngest DS just turned 1.

I guess what I am trying to say in my rambling post is please please don’t give up hope.
