Hi all

TTC #1 and thought I was pregnant from symptoms I’d been having which aren’t usual for me: boobs were fuller didn’t look much bigger but looked a different shape and felt like they’re getting harder or fuller. AF was due 1st November but came 3 days early. Was light and lasted a few days rather than 5. Had a light pink smear in CM 10th November. Felt thicker around my groin and was veiny. Felt fuller above my pubic bone which is new. Constipated with random spurts of diarrhoea and felt constantly bloated and windy. These are all symptoms I don’t usually have at all I normally just get sore boobs that don’t look much or feel much different and cramps / mood swings. Took a test AM on the 11th it was negative but hours later they had distinct blue lines. Control lines were solid grey but the others were still blue. I said I’d discount them obviously but you can’t help but wonder.. I tried to ignore it and tell myself it was in my head. But the symptoms haven’t gone away my nails are growing quickly they never do normally they’re quite weak and take ages I don’t have to cut them often but I cut them last week and they’re over my fingers and really thick. People have commented on how good my hair looks (it’s pretty dull blonde) but does look like I’ve had it highlighted or something! I’ve got random acne all over my neck. I have no appetite and still feel very full and gassy and my boobs are getting sore. Next period is due 28th November if I’m not pregnant but my DH begged me to test this morning on a digital because he’s convinced I am and it says no.. if I’m not pregnant I’m worried it’s something sinister :/ don’t like wasting people’s time but can’t shake how odd I feel and would love to hear any advice / similar stories?

Tests shouldn't be read after 10 minutes, they change and are unreliable after time passes. This early on you wouldn't have hair/skin changes but boobs are a more reliable indicator even though that could easily be ONE. Take an early response test, not a digital with FMU tomorrow. It might be worth peeing in a sample pot so you can use more than one test if you are unsure.

If you still don't know ask for an appointment but be prepared to wait.

Sorry, could easily be PMS.

If your next period is due 28th then best to wait till then to test. Early Pregnacy symptoms and cycle symptoms are the same

Yep that’s true. That’s if the October period was a period. If it wasn’t I’d be between 5-6 weeks. Would have expected any symptoms to ease off like usual, not increase throughout both months, but I’ll definitely take the advice and see what happens guys. Thanks to all for your responses :)

Get a FRER and use that. Will give you a very positive answer. However all your symptoms sound exactly like PMS or regular cycle symptoms. Have you recently come off birth control? How long have you been TTC?

Spotting in CM, constipated, random acne break outs, constant bloating, loss of appetite, fuller bumpy veiny sore boobs with enlarged darkened nipples are all things I’ve never experienced with PMS and have seen are most people’s symptoms of pregnancy on here.. so that’s a bit confusing
:( Guess we’ll wait and see what the future holds - we’ve only been trying for only 5 or 6 months so it’s very early days yet :)

I'm sorry but if you were 5-6 weeks pregnant a test would tell you very clearly, no matter what time of day, how dilute your urine, etc. It's far too early for your next period and it seems incredibly unlikely that you're five weeks pregnant despite having a period (even if a bit lighter than usual) AND negative tests. I mean this really kindly, but do you think you might be paying a lot more attention to your body than usual since you started thinking you were pregnant and that's why you're noticing all these symptoms?

If you were a few weeks pregnant you would more than likely be getting BFP by now. It all sounds like PMS or ovulation signs to me, apart from the hair and nails. If say you're just more in tune with your body or perhaps your cycle symptoms have just changed? I know mine have changed over time, definitely. Doesn't sound like anything sinister to me except maybe a bit of a dodgy tummy. Could be IBS or a food intolerance?

Never ever read a test after more than 10 minutes!! I can’t state this enough lol also that all sounds normal to be tbh. I’ve been ttc for a year and in that time I’ve had the weirdest “symptoms” most of which I’d never had before. I haven’t been pregnant the whole time I’ve been ttc. Unfortunately progesterone mimics pregnancy symptoms and when you’re ttc it’s hard not to spot every single little thing that seems “unusual.” If you were pregnant you would be getting a decent BFP by now so I would say that it’s simply hormonal.
