Hi,

I took a pregnancy test this afternoon as I had a niggling feeling (I get it every month rolls eyes) it was negative. It was a Superdrug own brand.
My period is due tomorrow, so I’m not late. I only took a test as I usually have brown discharge tmi before but nothing.
As I’m only 10dpo is it to early to show up if I were to be pregnant. I know it’s prob just a late period but why not send myself even more mad for the fun of it!

Thank for your help.

10dpo is very early. It could easily not be showing.

Give it a few days and test again

Realistically you may not get a positive test yet. Wait a few days and test again if no AF. And please, for the love of poas, stop early testing. You’re doing yourself no good. X

ALSO my period is due tomorrow despite me only being 10dpo. I have a Lp defect.
I’m sure I’m just late, but hopefully not.

IF you get a negitive when your period is late are you not pregnant just late?

Not necessarily as you have a luteal phase defect. (Although that only really applies if you have a luteal phase of under 10 days) and so you can technically implant late and then need a few days to start showing hcg. Remember it doubles at different rates in everyone. I would wait until you’re at least 4 or 5 days late to test again. Good luck!

Hi mouse, I get positive opks on day 15 therefore actual ovulation may not occur for another 48 hours. I have 25 day cycles.
I had my 21 day bloods taken 3 days after a positive opk and my levels were only 11!!!

BUt yes I agree I’m waiting as it really won’t make any difference me knowing I’m either pregnant or not and one way or another time will tell. I think I’m out though this month I’ve given up about 5 times and ended back here

If you ovulate on CD 16 and your cycles are 25 days long then you would technically never get to 10DPO. Are you sure you’re calculating correctly.

I only say this as I have 25/26 day cycles and a 9 day LP myself.

With both my first two I didn’t get a positive result until over 20dpo.
I’m aware I’m not the norm but just be aware that when it says it ‘can’ show at 10dpo it doesn’t always, I actually think it’s better to wait as long as you can

But your period isn’t late is it? You say you’re due tomorrow? I would test again in a couple of days if no AF.

@mouselove
This is the only month I’ve used OPKs as the other months I was using oviva. We have been ttc for over ten months if this cycle isn’t successful. I went to my GP who ran tests and suggested to use OPKs based on my short cycle 25 days as we kept missing the 21 day blood (I personally don’t think she actually knows the best time as she told me 7 days after my period, then when that was negitive said 2-3 days after a positive OPK.
I got my positive on 29th and 30th, my last MP was on the 17th.
So this month, I have supposedly had a short LP if my period arrives today.
I do however think AF will show up, and I just need to let nature come and go as per every month.
It becomes slightly obsessive after a while!

@mykingdom
Thank you, yes AF is due today. I usually have spotting before but haven’t hence why I tested. With my DD I tested a week before and got a faint positive so I thought it I were it would of showed up. I’m taking it as I’m not pregnant and my AF is late. Positive side is my cycles may be lengthened, which may give implantation an actual chance, as I don’t think I had much chance of one with a short LP.

@waddlingwanda
Thank you for your time and sharing your experience. Did you have a short LP as well?
I’m not used to testing after AF is due as I already knew with my daughter and my period has only ever been late once at that was when I conceived.

@cupcakesandlove
Yes, but I had quite a lot of trouble conceiving with my first two. This one however was a surprise and I didn’t miss the first two periods so shows things can change in a small time!
