Pregnant after dtd once!

Is it possible? I’m not pregnant.
I had my high peak yesterday dtd but hubby is away now so it’s unlikely we will get pregnant this month.
As I’ve stayed on other threads I’ve had some conflicting advice from the fertility friend app, we seem to be disagreeing on when I OV. OPK confirmed peak yesterday though.

Is it possible Hmm

Is it possible to get pregnant from having sex?

I'm going to say yes.

I'm 17 weeks today and proof that dtd once can make you up-duffed!

My current Bump was from dtd once that cycle 2 days post ovulation according to the app we were using.

Yes. Happened to me.

DTD count day 11. BFP count day 28.

DS is now 22months.

Come on. Everyone knows you have you have sex more than once to get pregnant. Hmm

DramaAlpaca · 31/10/2017 21:15

Yes, that's how my DS2 happened.

Is this a serious question?

NorthernLurker · 31/10/2017 21:21

How many times did you think you had to have sex to get pregnant? Hmm

Report
NapQueen · 31/10/2017 21:22

Of course it is possible.

Ds is the product of us deciding "lets have another" then getting scared and not dtd for a whole month after. Once was enough.

No idea what high peaks are but yes, unprotected sex can lead to pregnancy.

yes. you can totally be up-duffed after only one DTD.

For DD1, we had been trying for a few months. DH was going to be away the week I thought would be BFP so we gave it the old college try the week before. Reeesuullt! DD1

For DD2 we were driving to a wedding oop north and I convinced DH that we should start trying, not really believing an extra week would matter. Result: felt sick even the next day! DD2 was en route. Poor DH, he was hoping for a long campaign...

Other friends have reported 'first time lucky'.

Yup. DD1 took 1 slip up attempt. No charting anything, just right time, right place, crap condom Grin

I'm sitting looking at my ten-year-old who was the result of one occasion of coitus in two months. We always used the pull out method (worked with no other contraception for 7 years) but on this occasion our two year old walked into the room at the critical moment so dh couldn't pull out and boom! Here is my little guy ten years later. So blessed! Good luck!

MMcanny · 31/10/2017 21:30

And yes, this was the only occasion of sex in 2 mos, if not 4! It wasn't another careless pull out time!

I know how to reproduce thanks I’ve got a DD.
My question was light hearted and to hear of others who had solely had intercourse once and that resulted in pregnancy.
Being an adult I know it only take “once” but trying to conceive is an absolute mind f**k and sometimes I don’t even want to take it seriously, after being turnt nearly insaine by opks!
So thank you to those who have replied and given me hope xxxx

As my husband is away we’ve only
Had the opportunity to do it once this month the day I got my peak on my opk. I was just wondering had anyone else only
Had sex on their peak and got pregnant. Thanks x

Happened to me OP! We dtd once then two days later my OPK was positive. Assumed we were out that month but apparently we weren’t! Now have 2.4 year old ds 😬

I’m sure all of us who have been trying years love the thought of a lighthearted thread that literally has no point. Please think about it before you post. Most of the ladies on these boards are struggling to get pregnant or would give ANYTHING for a one bonk wonder. 😑

Urglewurgle · 31/10/2017 22:41

Yeah. 7 week old DD is the result of just one unprotected time!

Report
Thisismydilemma · 31/10/2017 22:42

Yes, I'm 4 weeks due to dtd once

NorthernLurker · 01/11/2017 10:23

There's nothing 'lighthearted' about your op. If you ask a silly question you will get the answers you deserve.

Every pregnancy (other than AI) is the result of a single shag.

Mouselove Sorry you are struggling to conceive, but the people who have responded have generally not said how long they were trying for, just that the month they were lucky they only did it once, for a variety of reasons.

Northernlurker, and that’s the reason I love mumsnet for people like you. I asked a question, get over yourself.
take your negativity elsewhere.
I’ve been trying near on a year to get pregnant, may not seem like very long to some but I’m bloody fed up and I just wanted to hear other experiences.
Have a lovely day! Hmm
