Clearblue digital - best ovulation test?

Have just stopped taking the pill and trying to get everything tracked from now on Ovia to give us the best chance when we can start ttc..hopefully in a few months time.

Are the digital ovulation tests the best?

They’re pretty expensive for how many you may need. I use the cheapy little sticks of amazon. You get lots for your money. We got pg second cycle so I’ve got loads lying around. They worked perfectly.

Ps also used app. Took temp in the morning etc. It’s really interesting and a little bit addictive!

Ok brill thank you Mamamalt! Great it happened so quickly for you! I'm almost 37 and fearing the worst. Hoping if I can at least know what's going on with my cycle it might help us. I can totally see myself getting addicted to tracking everything

Depends. The clear blue ones measure two hormones - estrogen and LH.

Estrogen rises more slowly - it’s what causes fertile cervical fluid. You test for it using first morning urine.

LH rises quickly, so you have to test fairly often to catch the surge. You have to test in the middle of the day.

The cheap internet ones never caught my LH surge (partly because I wasn’t going to pee on a stick at work).

The clear blue ones catch it every time

I used clear blue after I came of pill along with Ovia, this month was first settled cycle and found out today we have conceived on cycle 3 🙂

I think the Clear Blue ones are great quality. And you don't need to debate the gentle hue differences in the cheap tests. I think you'll be fine to test once a day, preferably at lunch time (same applies to any brand) and the result is clear - empty face, flashing and steady smiley.

Thanks OP I was on the pill for a long time and actually fell pregnant the first month without it but miscarried then had one cycle with period tracker etc then was pregnant by the next one! Enjoy it! I’m sure you will be fine and even if it takes a while at least you will know what’s going on a bit!

The ClearBlue Digital ones are designed to be used with FMU. No need to POAS in your lunch break!

I used the original ones, not dual hormone, and got on really well with them. To save money you could use cheap ones until they look promising and then back up with the digi.
