Horrifically painful and weird ovulation this month

I'm definitely ovulating, the pain started on Monday, a slight twinge in my left ovary area. I had pain in my right ovary last month and had a positive opk, so must be the left's turn this month!

Now fast forward to today, Saturday. All week the pain has been getting steadily worse, now urinating and pooing causes lots of pain in the lower left side - a mix of sharp and dull. I can't explain it. It feels like there's something in there. I have pains down my thighs too. Keep passing gas, that also hurts.
I have EWCM and I'm weeing quite a lot.

Taken two ibuprofen and using a hot water bottle.

Surely ovulation pains shouldn't continue for 5 days?!

Sounds like it could be an entirely different issue away from TTC, sounds very painful & I guess too painful for ovulation. I would maybe phone the docs if you are still struggling Monday. Hope you feel better soon.

@LovePinaColada
Like what? You've got me worried now. I just thought it was a painful ovulation. Sorry, I'm easily worried about my health x

Is it perhaps an ovarian cyst? I had some in the right ovary and had a scan, they've gone now but they did cause pain.

@fruitcocktail6 I did consider that. What do I need to do about it?

Go to the doctor! Even if it turns out not to be cysts at least you'll know.

@fruitcockail6 I don't like Doctors Sad

That definitely sounds like something that needs to be checked out by your GP. Hope you feel better soon!

I must admit, I'm getting rather worried now, does it sound like a UTI?
I've got big issues with health anxiety too so it's making me feel quite anxious.

I'm definitely ovulating as I have lots of EWCM, so surely it's related somehow?

Is there any chance that you're pregnant?

I have this every month. I have endometriosis Sad ovulation is more painful than my period sometimes.

It may be a one off so don’t worry. I’d see a GP though. If it is ovulation, as soon as it’s over (the crescendo is usually an hour of severe throbbing, inability to sit upright, pain) the pain will dissipate and you’ll feel like you’ve been beaten up.

@Mamamagellanic I think I may have endometriosis. This pain has been going on since Monday though, so day 5 today, is that too long for ovulation to go on for?

SquareWord I hope so as I'm trying to conceive!

Sounds like a cyst, i was in pain for over two months. I was scanned then lut on a three month wait and see, it went by itself.

However, if you are in severe pain, or pain gets very bad quickly go to A&E, as cysts can torsion, its an emergency. But you do need a scan.

What was your last period like? Was it normal? Could you be pregnant? You might want to test to rule out ectopic.

@bigfatbumfreak I think it could be a cyst...I've been TTC for 5 months with no luck. Will this hinder my chances even more?

Did you have pain with urination and when having a poo? (Sorry if tmi)

@bigfatbumfreak Last period was normal, heavy like usual with clots and painful, so I very much doubt it's an ectopic.

See the doc - it is the only way. There are many things it could be, some serious (if you have been TTC), some not - but how else will you know?

I have a painful ovarian cyst and pp is correct. If the head of the cyst becomes heavy (if filled with fluid for example) the stalk can twist which is an emergency. I know you don't like doctors (and I am a wimp about all things medical) but all you need initially is an ultrasound to check it out. And might be worth checking that your ovaries are ok if you are trying to conceive. Hope the pain diminishes soon anyway op, as I know it can be v debilitating.Flowers

And yes, ovarian cyst can affect bowels and bladder.

Thanks all.

I'll book an appointment on Monday at the GP if it's still painful.
I doubt it's an ectopic, because I wasn't pregnant last month and am only just ovulating this month. So it's quite unlikely.
I'm leaning towards a cyst or a UTI or my IBS flaring up. It's very debilitating, you're right Sad

I guess my chances of conceiving this month are low then Sad I was hoping this would be my month.

Sorry to worry you. I am sure it's nothing serious, but a doctor would have better advice than that! Hope you feel better.

Yes to pain on urinating and poo. Don’t let them fob you off with urine infection, they did that to me.

Thanks everyone.

Do people think it's unlikely I'll conceive this month then?
