Hi , was just after some advice and thoughts . Not used a site like this before . Have come of The implant coming up 4 weeks ago , haven’t had my period yet but have had on and off stomach cramps, sore breasts and feel like I’m going to the loo more often .. I asked the doctor if she could give me some insight as to how long it would take for me to get a period back as I never had one whilst on implant Maybe some slight spotting but that’s all .
Not sure when to do a pregnancy test or if I want to .

Comments or experience on this or what’s normal etc

Thanks :)

Hi there - I'm also fairly new to MN and TTC so thought I'd share.

I came off the pill (Yasmin) in March to TTC our first baby after 10 years on the pill and only now am starting to have more normal cycles.
I had a withdrawal bleed when I first came off the pill but after that it took 55 days to get a proper period. After any kind of hormonal contraception your body can take a while to regulate itself again - apparently even 6 months to a year in some cases (although I hope for both of us it won't take that long!)

I had my initial 54 day cycle, then 46 days, 16 days, 17 days, 41 days and I'm now on day 26 of this cycle. I think they're starting to even out as I feel like I'm going to get my period in the next couple of days, and I guess that would fit with the 6 month timeframe.

Be prepared for a bit of a wait for your first period and try not to be too disheartened if it takes a while, but I hope it comes back soon and good luck TTC!
