Should I be concerned?

Wondering if anyone else has experienced this? I came off the pill to ttc at the beginning of June - I was taking Noriday, so progesterone only - and since then nothing has happened. I mean literally nothing. I haven't had a period, I thought I had some spotting once but I'm wondering if I imagined it. I did some OPKs in the first month and some of them looked almost positive but not quite. I stopped using them as they were just adding to my anxiety about the whole thing.

I've been doing pregnancy tests fairly regularly just to be sure as I haven't had a period yet. I'm aware that it can take a year or more to get pregnant even with no fertility issues but I have nothing to go on and it's just so frustrating. I can't use a fertility app as they all ask when your last period was but haven't had one since before I started taking the pill 4 years ago!

I have a genetic condition which means I'm extra prone to blood clotting so bearing that in mind, should I worry about the lack of menstrual bleeding? I'm reluctant to bother my GP with it as I'm concerned they'll just tell me to come back when we've been ttc for a year or however long they say

(I'm 23 in case that's relevant)

Hi @ijustgothitbyadeer, I'm in a similar position. I stopped my pill in August and have had no sign of a period. I went to my doctor and in 2 weeks time he is doing a blood test to check my prostegen levels and hormones etc. He said he will also do a ultrasound of my ovaries. I was a bit surprised as I thought he would send me away and ask me to come back in 6 months as waiting for AF after BC is common. might be worth visiting your GP x

Thanks @Louise142, maybe it is worth looking into it. Tempting to bury my head in the sand as I’m terrified it’s going to be bad news but I really want a baby Sad hope all goes well with your tests x

I came off cerazette 5 weeks ago, and nothing has happened - no periods, negative OPKs etc. I'm 31 and ttc #1. It's so frustrating. Like you op, I would be interested to know if other people have any advice to give.

@Stellarbella I came off cerrazette on 16th sept and also no period yet. However I have been using opks and taking my temps and I think i have now ovulated (a few days ago) so hopefully period should come in another 10-12 days or so!

OP I agree and would go and see your GP. I spoke to mine when I was coming off the pill and she said to give it 3 months and go and see her if my periods didn’t come back in that time (I have suspected PCOS)

@Wholenewworld22 did they say what they would do if you went back having not had a period? Like what type of tests/investigations would be required?

I’m getting concerned it’s going to be bad news. Although as DH says, it’s probably nothing and even if it is something it’s better to know sooner rather than later

@IJustGotHitByADeer No she didn’t say specifically however I think they can do blood tests and/or an ultrasound scan. It will either put your mind at rest or if there is an issue at least you’ll know and can do something about it!

They’re doing a blood test to check hormone levels to ensure I’m actually ovulating. Dr thinks the ewcm I had when I missed a pill in May was just hormone fluctuation and not ovulation Confused they’re also checking my thyroid and rubella status. Premature menopause was mentioned but only with a view to ruling it out.

Good luck @Stellarbella

Im somewhat in the same boat but not quite! I was on a birth control called sunya, it was at the time I went on it an experimental contraceptive. I stayed on it for years before they moved me over to the mini pill then let me have sunya back lol. Either way I am now on cd45 since my withdrawal bleed. The difficult part for me is I've had most symptoms of pregnancy including the latest leaky breast

Ergh, had my appointment this afternoon but got the standard answer e.g. - it's fine, stop worrying, wait 6 months and come back if no AF by then. So, just a waiting game now.

@Stellarbella Flowers must be disappointing to not have any actual answers. Hope AF shows up for you soon, or even better - an actual BFP

@Littlemissvictoria1990 the symptoms are so annoying, especially as a lot of them are similar to pre-AF symptoms. Very hard to know what’s going on
