There are ones that claim you can test early but generally from the first day of your expected period. But you can get negatives and go on to get a positive. Try and hold off if you can but I totally get the urge!

Fertilisd eggs implant between 5 and 9dpo, usually 7dpo, so it's probably too early for anything yet.

It's possible to have a feeling and for it to be nothing, or vice versa! Best to leave testing as late as possible so as not to be too disappointed. I know how it feels though!

Is this your first month TTC? For me (I’m 2nd cycle TTC) I had to get all the premature testing out of the way. If you are prepared to get a negative then go for it. I think I tested from 6dpo onwards. Of course it was all negative. It still hurts and gets you down. For me, I will wait this cycle. Not until AF is due, but at least 9dpo.

Hi Peanutty86,

Yeah it is my first month ttc. Is it that obvious? Lol i have avoided doing a test tonight. Its just so frustrating that i am picking up on everything and i dont know if it is me being more aware. Angry xx

I had every sign under the sun last month, all things I'd never had before, and I was convinced I was pregnant. I wasn't though. That's why this month I am determined to just wait.

The best piece of advice I can give you from someone who has never tested early is DONT DO IT. you will end up driving yourself mad. I'm 14 months in now and if I tested every month I'd be wasting a fortune. Wait till you've missed your period. I know it's torture but it will really help build your patience if you have the bad luck of TTC-ing for a while. Fingers crossed you're lucky and fall quickly. Xxx

Haha yes it is! Once you’re through your first cycle and have about 10 negative tests in your hand, you’ll never ask that question again. Not that it’s a stupid question to ask in any way, I googled the hell out of it last month, but I think you definitely learn from it.

Also, don’t ever test at night. Especially not before you’re late for AF.
