I’m having an ewcm nightmare. For as long as I can remember, I have always always always got ewcm mid-cycle. Even when I’ve been on birth control, I still had it every single month. I came off the implant in December last year and it just stopped. My cycles went back to normal straight away but instead of getting ewcm, I just get very watery cm. Last month I had a smear test just as my fertile week was starting and for once, I had a bit of ewcm for a few days. But this month I’m back to just watery cm again. I literally cannot find a single explanation anywhere. One, why I stopped having ewcm at all after my implant removal and two, why it would make an appearance randomly on one cycle but then not the next. Does anyone have any ideas as to why because it’s driving my absolutely insane and nobody, not even google, seems to be able to help me!

Are you drinking enough water? I’ve read that not drinking enough can affect cm quality. Evening primrose oil is meant to increase ewcm but I haven’t tried it. Also you could still have it up near your cervix and it isn’t making its way to the tp? Watery cm is still fertile too so don’t dispair too much if you don’t see the hallowed ewcm!

Yeah I drink a lot of water. I haven’t tried evening primrose yet though. I just find it strange how I used to have it all the time without question and then it just stopped. Maybe I do still have some, could it be that it’s up inside my cervix because I had ewcm after my smear test which I guess could have dislodged it if it was hidden up there? I mean, I know watery cm is still fertile but we all aspire to ewcm I think don’t we Grin

Oh I totally get how you feel - I don’t see it every month but when I do I practically grab DH! Yeah I’ll use smear may have caused it to move down. I guess if you do have it but your cervix and it’s not moving then it’s in the right place Btw I read your blog - you’re a really good writer. I love your honesty.

Aww thank you :) I write a post literally every day because it takes my mind off the ttc madness for a while haha. And yeah, I suppose that might make sense, the only time I’ve had it in almost a year has been when someone has been scraping around in my cervix. So strange how it’s stopped “coming out” like it used to though. I’m not really that sure on the difference between ewcm and watery cm in terms of being fertile but I’m hoping there’s not much of one!
