Spotting a few days-week before my period

Before my period begins, I get spotting every month. It's pink/brown in colour. Sometimes red. It's been happening for over a year now. Alongside it I get cramping, especially in the lower abdomen, thighs and stabbing pains/aches that feel like they're inside my vagina. I also get pelvic twinges.

Then AF starts with full force and I'm in agony/heavy bleeding for the first two days then it trails off after around four days. Sometimes five. I a lot of breast pain prior to the period too.

I'm wondering if there's something going on like low progesterone. I've been TTC since end of June, so we're now on month four and AF is showing her face again with the same symptoms as mentioned above. It's a normal pattern for me now, but doesn't make it any easier for me. I wonder if this is why I can't get pregnant too.

Any advice or help is appreciated Flowers

I have heavy spotting every month between OV and AF, and am nearing end of 5th cycle TTC, so in a similar position. Doc says as long as I'm having regular periods then all is fine, and she did blood tests which showed progesterone ok. It still really gets me down though. I'm convinced there must be something wrong and that's why TTC hasn't worked yet. I'm 10dpo today and got BFN so assuming I'm out this month too. Sorry I don't have anything very positive to say just now - I'm not in that frame of mind tonight! X

Especially a link to an older thread Betsyboo posted - lots of positive stories of how it made no difference xx

I’m so sorry that you’re a spotter too! It’s so frustrating isn’t it? Have you seen your go? It might be worth a visit as they may do some blood tests for you. I’ve googled this problem like crazy and there are lots of positive stories about ladies having no problem conceiving with spotting. Some still spot on the month they fall and others don’t.

I'm a spotter and have conceived quite easily twice over now and have 3 lovely children to show for it.
4 years ago before trying for my first I was very paranoid about the spotting. According to my BBT my LP is only around 11 days including the spotting but it didn't cause me any issues.
