Long cycles, faint bfp?

I am never regular with af, usually around 5 weeks but can occasionally have a 6, sometimes 7 week cycle.

Today is cd 46. I took a clear blue test last Thursday and thought it was bfn, but on closer inspection there was the teeniest faintest squinter, I presumed was an evap.

Today I took my second clear blue and as you can see by pic there is a faint line.

I'm wondering because my last AF was the 11th August, if I was pg wouldn't the line be darker by now, or at least shown up last week when I tested? If my long cycles affect when I could have conceived, how would the pregnancy be dated, as going by lmp wouldn't be accurate.

I am really not sure if I'm pregnant or not, and I need to know sooner rather than later as I'm on medication which I'm not sure if safe in pregnancy.

Thanks.

I can see the line! Maybe you ovulated later in the month?

That looks positive to me. I would also try a digital and FRER. But I'm a pregnancy test addict. A tentative congratulations from me.

I wouldn't describe that as faint at all! But blue dye tests are unreliable, do a pink test, or a digital!

Oh, and your pregnancy will be dated by a scan, if there's more than a couple of weeks doubt you should push for an early scan

Eeeek Hmm Thanks all.

I think I will get a frer (is that first response yes?) to know one way or another.

The one I took last week was later in the day and today was with fmu so I wonder if that made a difference too.

I've just taken a frer and it's negative - perhaps as it's later in the day? Thought as they are more sensitive than cb it would have come up anyway if I was pregnant.
Have another frer to do in the morning with fmu, hopefully that will give me a definitive result.

Had that exact result on that exact test and most definitely wasn't pregnant. Will only ever do FRERs from now on.

Oh dear that doesn't sound promising for me then.

Have you done a frer today @faintlinesquints FX for you.

Yes, frer was bfn this morning.
I didn't think you could get a false positive, the cb really threw me. Devastated.

Sorry to hear that OP!
I find first response to be the best and most reliable!
Good luck for future cycles xx

So.. still no af, and very sore boobs. Is this just wishful thinking or should I re-test in a few days?

I would re test just to make sure. Are you usually this late?

Thanks. I have rarely in the past had a 6-7 week cycle, the last few months it's been pretty regular at 5 weeks. That's me just over 7 weeks since my last af now, I've ordered some more pink dye tests from amazon prime so they will be here tomorrow.
I think I'm more confused as I really do feel different, sore boobs & I keep getting really hot flushes too. Hopefully I'm not just reading into everything too much.

I am so confused, still no af but another bfn on a cheap pink dye test this morning.
Thing is, I really do feel pregnant, so much so that I actually would have bet money on it!

Will the gps do anything (blood test) if I went to see them or would they just repeat a urine test and tell me it's neg?

I hate those clearblue tests!!!! They should be re called!! 😡

Totally agree hotpink I always heard that a false positive was rare, but on here the amount of people who have had false positive with clear blue is ridiculous.
Completely plays with people's emotions.
