Faint positive FRER x2 but negative Clearblue digi

Hi all,
What it says in my title. I'm 5 days late been trying for well over a year and had started to lose hope. Did FRER on Sunday afternoon as was late and got BFN. Did another FRER this morning and got a more faint BFN- first wee of the day so got me worried. Both were faint pink second lines.
Tonight I've done a clearblue digi which took an age to say not pregnant!

I know I need to wait and see but I am freaking out! I can't stand the waiting!
Any thoughts?!

I've put BFN when I mean BFP! I am befuddled! Sorry!

FRER have a much higher sensitivity! It's likely that your HCG levels just aren't high enough for the CBdigi. Try again in a couple of days. 🙂 (I know, I know... So much easier said than done!)

Congrats! Flowers

Thanks for replying!
I have read that online (major googling has been occurring) but I am worried it's a chemical pregnancy. My cycles are different lengths so ovulation time not clear and was told day 21 results weren't good a couple of weeks ago. Also my other half had a poor sperm analysis result not too long ago as well so seriously cannot believe my eyes!
Anyone heard anything about a bad batch of FRERs doing the rounds?! Eek! X

I'm sorry you're worried, but if it is going to turn into a chemical there's nothing you can do to stop that. As difficult as it is, you need to sit back, relax, and hope for the best.

Hcg is meant to double every 48 hours. The lowest sensitivity of the frer is down to about 6 miu. The lowest a digi will read is about 50 miu. So if you were 6 when first detected it would take about 6 more days to detect on the digi.

Both pregnancies I got stronger lines later in the day, so please don't pin everything on the FMU test being fainter! Congrats. Flowers

Thanks for replying guys.

Unfortunately my period turned up this morning- had a feeling it might. Never actually had a BFP before so even though this (i assume a chemical pregnancy) is gutting I feel better overall to know that we can get to that stage. Back to the drawing board for next month. Fingers crossed for all of you trying out there!

Thanks again for the advice x

You would normally be late if it were a chemical pregnancy. If you're 100% sure you got a line on a FRER it might be worth recording it with your GP anyways. Good luck.

Thanks mouselove.

Did you mean a chemical pregnancy wouldn't make you late? I was 4-5 days late... Also I have been referred for HSG test (not that I can get through to hospital to book it) - will they delay investigations if I tell them about the chemical? I'm sure I've read on here before that can be the case? I know need to do another test before I go for that to make sure I'm not pregnant.

Sorry if that is sneaky but waited months for the appts I've had and just want to get things sorted if there is something wrong x

Sorry yes you'd be late for your period if you are regular. And yes you really do need to tell them about the chemical pregnancy as the plan of action may change or become different. It might not though. I'm sorry you are going through the uncertainty. I had a mmc at 10 weeks in February. We are still ttc#1 now for a year. It's hard but you have to just keep going, I wish you all the luck with your next step. X

Ok well haven't even managed to get through today on phone to book HSG anyway! Will try again tomorrow

Sorry to hear about your mmc. TTC is honestly the hardest experience I have ever been through- but you are right just have to keep going. Good luck to you too- fingers crossed for good news soon. x

Very faint line with Superdrug early preg detector, but negative with Clearblue at 12 DPO

Please does anyone have any advice. I'm not sure if I have a positive test or a simple evap line. This very fairly line came up very slowly within the three minutes and not immediately. I took a clearblue digital test this evening and it stated that I am not pregnant. Small amount of nausea briefly this morning and this evening and AF type cramps. I'm not sure what to think. I've attached photos. Any ideas?

So sorry that I've mistakenly posted this here. First time using mumsnet and I wasn't aware I was posting on your thread pinkJammie. This TTC business is sooooo stressful!!! 🙁

Nettle, those are absolutely notorious for evap lines. I would treat it as such unless you get a positive on another test. I had a ine like that last cycle...

Yes, it is stressful business. I am currently trying to accept that I have no control. I may or may not ever have a baby (odds ARE on our sides though). I've been ttc 18 months.
