Hi all
I am ttc no. 2, D'S is 7. I've been on depo since he was born but had my last injection nearly a year ago. Coming off it has been a real hormonal rollercoaster but it's been quite settled for a couple of months.
I get really sore swollen breasts before AF is due, it seems to be around ovulation time and lasts until AFs arrival sadly, I also tend to get nauseous and exhausted the week before AF.
I've been on contraception almost my entire adult life so im really not used to this stuff, I conceived my son immediately upon stopping the pill...
Does it mean anything? I've read sore boobs can be before ovulation or is it after? Is it a good thing?
Any experiences and advice welcome xx

I get sore boobs and nausea throughout the two weeks after ovulation but before I get my period. It's just due to the increase in progesterone after you've ovulated. If you conceive then your progesterone level will stay high, if you've not it will drop which is what triggers AF

Yes I get sore boobs after ovulation - well sore nipples really. I can pretty much pinpoint when I've ovulated as I wake up the next day and they are really tender.

It's a side effect of the higher progesterone level after ovulation, so hopefully is a good sign you are ovulating :)

So it sounds like the sore boobs are a good thing? The soreness arrived yesterday morning so do you think I've now ovulated and there's no point ttc after this point?
We've dtd every other day for the past week or so, FX!

It would usually indicate you have ovulated yes so you should be covered if you've DTD every other day Smile

Thanks @happybus28 how do you cope with having nausea and pain for 2 weeks? It sounds very much like me, I think i get about 9 'normal' days a month which sucks!

It is annoying but you sorta just get used to it, I find every months different. Some months it seems worse than others. Not had much nausea this month but my boobs feel tender. I just try and forget about it!

I'm doing my best to forget but it's really hard! I can't even let my son cuddle me it's so painful. I've told my DH that as soon as I can I'm going back on the depo haha
