Thanks tee you've come such a long way and I hope the medication sorts it for you this month.

I'm 33 and TTC1 for around 20 months. Currently still trying but waiting to start IVF.

I'm 33 too!! Starting investigations. First scan showed many cysts on both ovaries. Ttc 16 months. One definite cp and one suspected.

Ttc gets me down in the dumps....

Just got back from my first counseling session. I hadn't realised how shit I felt about myself because of this. I actually described myself as 'defective'. Shit. But I made some goals: accept the situation I am in (not be angry and 'why me') and learn to cope with setbacks/ things not going according to expectation.

Report
Jamon · 08/08/2017 18:15

That sounds like totally sensible advice and goals Kate I hope it helped.

Tee4me · 08/08/2017 19:28

Do you feel any better Kate? Did the Therapist give many tangible tips for achieving these goals?

No. It was mostly her getting my life story and the characters in my life. Talked a bit about why I am finding this so frustrating and how it seems a downward spiral with how I act with setbacks... I was totally honest, which was a bit refreshing to say out loud.

I have another session in couple weeks and might continue if I can fit it in during term time (I don't finish teaching til 4pm... so timings might get complex!).

Kate I'm glad you found the counselling helped. I found counselling quite difficult in that it stirs things up as they dig deep into your background. Found saying things made me think there were past issues when maybe they weren't before until they are said. Very positive advice though, pleased it went well and recommend you get more as the first few are just getting to know u etc.. they will definitely benefit you.

I'm struggling with still desperately wanting another child. Trying to separate this from a reason to make it work with Dh. It's hard! Looking forward to holiday end of Aug (much deserved) villa in Greece. My cycles are still not working so aim to see gp again.

physicskate · 09/08/2017 12:27

I felt like she wanted to talk about historic issues with my mum maybe a bit too much as I am pretty accepting of all of that crap at this point, but I guess it's background information about how I deal with conflict and pain and work through my emotions??? She was definitely there to listen but hopefully over the next few sessions we can come up with some strategies??

At this point I'll do almost anything to avoid anti-depressants!

Glad you found the counseling helpful @kate. Really hope it doesn't get down to depression hun.

Lucky you @foot, hope you enjoy your well deserved holiday Wink.you definitely have something to look forward to.

@jam, did you manage to nail your fw? Best of luck in the tww and fx for some good news 《ever so hopeful 》

@tee, fw is around the corner. it must be exciting knowing you have a plan of action. fx the medication does you good.

I am just wishing the days away so I can at least reach the 12w milestone. You would think the 2ww is the only nerve wrecking wait but the 12ww is just as horrible. My neighbor just lost her 2day old son and it is so sad ((makes me wonder if the roller coaster ride ever ends))

Mim it must be really scary, try to stay positive Smile your body has carried babies before and hopefully will remember it's way

Yes we nailed fw. I feel like we might as well have just ignored it. The outcome will be the same.

Ttc #3
2 mmc 10 and 6 weeks.
Cycle _ no idea, trying for 16 months so far

Frantically trying to get ready for my holiday on Saturday, all inclusive for 2 weeks (think wine at lunch, cocktails the works!). Felt a bit dizzy on Tuesday, bought a test and lo and behold, pregnant! Not quite a bfp more a feint little line but definitely positive.

So sods law. No alcohol for me. DH is amused more than anything. I'm trying not to get my hopes up with 2 miscarriages in a row under my belt, but I thought you girls would like to know. Only dtd twice in fw in the end. Wasn't actually trying this month.

Oh Nim congratulations!! I think of you often as you were in a similar boat to me with the MCs. Fingers crossed for a sticky one. How funny the last 2 BFPs on this thread were from those on a break!!

CD11 for me and looking like an early ovulation! Got a peak opk today, so expecting ovulation tomorrow. DTD CD7, 8, 10 so far. Will jump DH tonight and tomorrow, hopefully Saturday too. Will start the steroids tomorrow too x

Oh Nim that is great news!!! Fingers crossed!!!

Cd 10 here Tee! Haven't even started fw yet!

Went out with a mate today and touched on a few things... she said I needed to really kick ass with exercising a bit more. Day 4? Of vegan diet and I've lost some weight already, so that's nice. Well into 'normal' BMI now!

Did anyone else read about niacin (B3) on the BBC today? Thoughts!?

Report
Tee4me · 10/08/2017 18:03

Yes I heard about B3 today! Looked up the supplement up on Healthspan (trust them most on vitamin front) and their high strength B complex contains 100nrv B3. Checked out my multivit which has 125nrv of B3, so hoping that covers it for me?? Interesting reports though, linked to preventing miscarriage too x

I might take a multivitamin with niacin, I've usually just stuck with vitamin d and folic acid.
